General Overview

Take a break and unwind at this peaceful oasis. The Narramissic Riverside Cottage at Narramissic Manor in Bucksport Maine. Wake up and start your day with an amazing show from Mother Nature. Enjoy a cuppa from the front porch while you catch the sunrises and watch the resident wildlife. Just steps from the Narramissic River this rustic 2 bedroom cottage offers many creature comforts from home while being steeped in the Maine outdoors.

The Space

Cozy riverside cottage with 2 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Full indoor kitchen with refrigerator, stove, oven, and coffee maker.

Guest Access

Guests will have access to the cottage, backyard, and Narramissic River. The river is clear and swimmable but the entrance is natural and muddy/mucky (not sand) excellent for hand launching kayaks or small boats.

Notes

The cottage is at the end of a private .6 mile farm road. This is a narrow, in some spots bumpy dirt road. During heavy rain there's a few bits of road that can forms puddles that must be driven through. A high clearance or 4x4 vehicle is reccomended all year but required during mud season. There is a steep hill down to the cottage, with a wide trench to the side for heavy washouts. Max speed of 10MPH we have kids on bikes or picking berries alongside the road and lots of wildlife crossing... turtles, quail, pheasant, turkeys, deer, chickens, ducks, foxes, rabbits just to name a few. Access to the river for guests of the Manor house is at the end of the dirt road next to the cottage.

*edited to add* we have availability for various dates April-June 2026 for Non-Simultaneous or globe exchange. We are looking to exchange for travel during January - April of 2026 mostly looking for in the US as we're taking a road trip and would be driving. Hello we are Wallace and Tara. We currently live in the DownEast of Maine where we are building our dream homestead in the backwoods. We're new to PLU but long time experienced hosts with our family business DownEast Vacation Homes. We both grew up on Long Island, NY my husband was raised living in his grandmother's BNB and I grew up in the back of restaurants and eventually graduated to managing boutique hotels. When we met he was a live in estate manager and I was managing a hotel and we dreamed of one day working for ourselves. We set a 5 year goal and somehow the stars aligned and we purchase our first home that year and we started renting it while we were away working. 1 year later we purchased a fixer upper motel in Maine and we were able to leave our day jobs and pursue our dreams together. With a lot of hard work and all the struggles and sacrifice that go into making a business flourish we were able to restore it to the popular destination it once was. We ended up selling our beloved motel to purchase our farm, The Narramissic Manor, the most gorgeous piece of land and our forever home. We have a few houses in Maine that we do rent seasonally but are happy to share when available. Feel free to reach out and chat and let's see if we can make an exchange.
