General overview
Built in 1925, my 3-story home has large windows and two skylights. Rooms are spacious and filled with natural light. There are 5 bedrooms (4 with queen or double beds, 1 with couch and TV) and three full bathrooms (2 tub/shower combinations, 1 walk-in shower).
Located in Ardmore, PA, the home is within walking distance to Amtrak, Septa, and light rail train stations (it takes 15-20 minutes by train to reach the center of Philadelphia, 90 minutes to NYC, 2 hours to Washington DC). Atlantic Ocean beaches are 60-90 minute drive, Pocono mountains are 1.5 to 2 hour drive.
The space
The first floor contains a large sunroom filled with plants, living room with wood-burning fireplace and electric piano, large dinning room, full bathroom (tub/shower combo), newly renovated kitchen with gas stove, full pantry, and separate mudroom.
There are three bedrooms (1 with queen bed, 2 with double beds) and a full bathroom with Jacuzzi tub/shower combination on the second floor. The 2nd floor master bedroom has an electric fireplace and sitting area.
The third floor has one bedroom with a queen bed, writing desk, and bookcases; one bedroom with a couch, exercise equipment, and TV; and a full bathroom with walk-in shower.
All bedrooms have ceiling fans and closets. Air conditioning is provided by portable AC units in all bedrooms, living room, and dining room.
There are TVs in the living room and third floor exercise room. Washer and dryer are in the basement, along with a large sectional sofa, crafts/sewing area, storage, and a tool room.
The large yard is full of mature trees, including two giant oak trees, large maples, and evergreens. A long driveway provides ample off-street parking. Perennial flowers, shrubs, and herbs fill the gardens. A fully-fenced back yard includes a raised deck, 2.5 car garage, and a hammock. A walk-in chicken coop and aviary are home to 8 laying hens, (they require little/no maintenance, just collect fresh eggs everyday!).
Guest access
Three levels plus an unfinished basement are all connected by staircases. This home is not wheelchair accessible and may not be appropriate for people with limited mobility.
Notes
I have two lovely dogs (one large, one small) and two gentle indoor cats. Dogs and cats may be elsewhere when I travel.
No smoking inside the home.
