General Overview

Our ground floor suite is in a beautiful quiet area of the City of Vancouver. We’re amongst mature leafy green trees on the streets, with mostly single family homes. Our neighbours are mostly families or mature couples. The suite is connected to our main home which is a heritage older cottage. The house (together with the suite) is also listed for exchange separately. We are located in the neighbourhood of Dunbar, just 5kms to Vancouver city centre. We have neighbourhood shops and restaurants, including a grocery store within a 5 - 20minute walk radius. We are also a very short walk to the nearest bus stop just at corner of our street, which goes directly into the city. We have the beautiful Pacific Spirit Regional Park nearby (15mins walk) with an amazing network of trails for walking, running or cycling. We’re close by to the University of British Columbia campus - again a short bus ride away. Please note, I’m still Work in progress with setting up this home, and hoping to get it finalized with more photos etc in the coming weeks. Calendar Availability is not yet known for Winter 2026/27 or 2027.

The Space

The home is simple and comfortable in an older building, in a safe environment. It’s a great cozy base to relax after busy tourist days. The two bedrooms each have a queen size bed. One bedroom has a corner desk setup. The kitchen has an oven/cooktop, microwave oven, and basic supplies. Bathroom is a full bathroom with a shower, toilet and basin. The living area is cozy with a sofa and tv. During summer, there will be a patio set outside to enjoy the weather. The laundry is accessible from the suite and is shared with the main house. There is an inside door which can be unlocked, to connect the house with the suite, for larger families. See our house listing #55973

Guest Access

The suite is on the ground floor. If arriving from the street, there is side access down 2 steps to the entrance. There is one small step into the suite. Please note, the suite does have lower ceiling heights, approx 7’ in main areas with bathroom a little lower.

Notes

There is on street parking available in front of the house, and no problem in finding space if you have a car. Otherwise, taxis and Ubers are easy, as are car sharing vehicles.

Neighbourhood

The immediate neighbourhood (within 5 minutes walk) has a coffee shop, Japanese restaurant, ice cream store, liquor store and Tim Hortons. 10-15mins walk away are two grocery stores, more cafes & more restaurants, and other retail such as florist, barber, antique store etc. Nearby is the large trail network in the Pacific Spirit Regional Park, the highly respected University of British Columbia campus, and neighbouring areas include Kitsilano, Kerrisdale, West Point Grey and Arbutus Ridge. Within a 30minute walk (or 5mins drive) is Jericho beach, the Jericho sailing club, beach parks, Royal Vancouver Yacht Club and more!

Getting to my home

Our home is best accessed by car, but there are buses that stop just at the end of our street, that run downtown into Vancouver city centre or towards UBC.

Nearest airport

YVR is Vancouver International Airport, the main gateway to Vancouver from most domestic and international destinations. It is approximately 25-30minutes away by car / taxi / uber.

Getting Around

As described above, there’s many local shops and restaurants in the walkable neighbourhood. A car would be handy, but there’s buses that run regularly just at the end of our street. Taxi/Uber are available, or car sharing vehicles (if you’ve signed up a member) are also typically readily available on our street.
