Hospitality Description: Even though we may be home ‘The Studio’ is private, self contained and has it’s own entrance. We occasionally list it on Airbnb, but happy to offer it for short hospitality stays, or a Globe if longer.

General Overview
‘The Studio’ is attached to our main house, but has its own separate entry and is private from the rest of the house.
It is warm and welcoming with everything for a comfortable stay.
There are stunning views from your own semi enclosed deck across the property and to adjacent mountains.

It is a fully self contained/ self catering.
Ideally for a two people
Not really suitable for children although a small child can easily sleep on the comfy sofa bed

It has a very comfortable king size bed with lovely quality linen, plus an electric blanket for chilly nights.
Spectacular NE mountain views from your private deck.
Situated on 15 acres, with direct access to the Huon River.

The Space
There is a very comfortable king sized bed, a fold out queen sofa, an ensuite bathroom, a 'table for two', a small kitchen and a your own semi enclosed deck.
There is a flat screen TV with access to Netflix, Prime, Stan and other TV Apps.
Reverse cycle air conditioning for cooling and heating, plus electric blankets for cooler nights.
The private sun filled deck has a BBQ area and is the perfect place to relax with a cuppa in the morning, or a cocktail in the evening.
Facing North East there are spectacular views across to the Huon River and mountains.
*Not The shower recess is a bit of a step to get into as it used to be used as a corner spa bath. Being that we rely on rainwater the spa bath is rarely used unless our water tanks are overflowing which only happens in winter.

There are no stairs with everything on the one level.

You will be welcome to roam and explore around our lovely property.
There are a few slopes on the property, so please be aware for anyone with mobility issues. That being said "The Studio" is all on one level and has spectacular views and very easy and level access from the carport.

You will be able to enjoy a glorious rural getaway. Sorry no pubs within walking distance, but we only live approx 15 mins drive away from Huonville and there are many lovely small townships to explore , along with great walking trails, take a day trip to Bruny Island, visit Australia’s Southernmost beach at Cockle Creek.

Best to fly into Hobart. You can hire a car from the airport or it’s usually cheaper if you catch a taxi into Hobart city for a better car hire deal.
You may be able to borrow our 5 seater car for your stay.
Our place is 1 hour from Hobart airport or 50 mins from Hobart city.

We first reached out to Ali and Paul a year and a half ago, and their time at our place in September 2025 completed our full circle of exchange (we were at their beautiful farm in Tasmania in April 2025). From first correspondence until now and beyond, a wonderful and lasting friendship has developed! Communication between us has always been easy, responsive and timely, and we effortlessly adapted to each other’s needs when schedules had to change. In every way they were perfect guests in our home, leaving our apartment tidy and spotless. Should they reach out to you for an exchange, don’t hesitate to welcome them into your home! -
Ali and Paul were the perfect guests. It truly felt like they were looking after our home, not just staying there. They offered to do some odd jobs round the house and left the place clean and ready for the next guests, with the bonus of leaving a home-cooked welcome meal! The communication was quick and easy and it felt like chatting with friends. If you get the chance to meet or exchange with them I would only recommend. I hope in the future our paths cross ✨️❤️. -
We met up with Ali and Paul one day in York whilst they were staying in our home. What a lovely couple they are, warm, friendly and considerate. They left our home in pristine condition and were excellent at communicating with us throughout their stay. Their home in Australia sounds amazing, and if we were younger, we’d have loved to have paid them a visit one day. A* guests. -

I really enjoyed communication with Ali, it was light and fun and put us at ease that our home and garden was being well cared for, which helped us to relax on our travels! It was great to briefly meet Ali and Paul when we popped back home to collect something, and we are looking forward to meeting them properly when they are back in our area in a few weeks time. We would definitely recommend an exchange with them! Lovely people ❤️ -
Ali and Paul have been absolutely amazing guests. Despite not meeting them in person, you know when you get that feeling that someone is a little ray of sunshine... Well that's Ali 😊 They have taken wonderful care of our home on a globe swap, offering to mow the lawn and dead head the roses. They have been very easy to communicate with, and have been so patient with a little alarm issue that cropped up. We felt very confident that our home was being well looked after. We would absolutely have them to stay again at any point and highly recommend them as guests. Thank you so, so much both of you, 😊🙏 -

We were very fortunate to have had Ali and Paul as our very first guests and we spent a lovely evening together before we set off on our holidays. We couldn’t have asked for a better start to our PLU journey! They are experienced exchangers and gave us lots of tips and advice and more importantly completely put our minds at ease. Communication was excellent, before, during and after our exchange which made all the difference. Ali and Paul were perfect guests and we loved having them in our home. They were appreciative and friendly and neat and tidy, leaving our home immaculate. They enjoyed our whole location; the cottage and garden and the Pembrokeshire experience which was lovely. We were so fortunate to meet them personally and enjoyed their company and loved hearing about their epic PLU adventure. They have really embraced the spirit of the exchange experience. We hope to meet in Tasmania again one day. -
Ali and Paul stayed at our home for two months whilst we travelled in Vietnam and Australia. They requested a list of jobs they could do during the stay! We arrived home to a perfect garden (yard!), a great compost bin, jet washed patio and much more. The house was spotless and they kindly left us gifts too. If you want some nice friendly people from Tasmania Australia as your guests these ones might be one of the best! We had the chance to meet Ali, Paul, Penny & Nick over a lunch in our home before we left ourselves for a tropical Christmas in Tulum Mexico - while they where having a white Christmas at our place. We felt totaly calm about leaving our home and our cat Sigge in their hands. Such great guests! They even cooked us some meals waiting for us in the fridge when we where coming home. So kind! Our home was spotless clean when coming home, almost as they haven’t been there. We are glad that Alison was able to make her maybe first snow angel on the nearby frozen river. And that Paul was able to try out snowmobiling with some friendly villagers. And that you did see the best silent New Years fireworks - the northern lights, just close to our home. We have had great communication all the way and if we ever end up going to Tasmania their place is a must to visit. Warmly recomended as guests by us. Let’s stay in touch. Best regards xx -
Ali was a brilliant guest, very organised communicating all their plans well in advanced- they are seasoned hoke swappers! They took care of our little dog last minute too which really helped- as well as fixing our dining table- bests guests EVER!! I wish them luck for the rest of their big trip! -
Paul and Ali were wonderful guests who stayed in my home while visiting their family. From the start, Ali was excellent to communicate with—always prompt, courteous, and clear in her responses, which made coordinating their stay very easy. During their visit, they took great care of the house and left everything in perfect condition. It was an absolute joy to have them, and I highly recommend them to any host. Paul had his license to drive our motorhome, so we met at their home and did an easy swap for them to travel in it at their leisure. They looked after it , even washing in before return :) Look forward to doing another swap with them again in the future 😊

Paul and I are in our 60s and young at heart. In 2018 we made the move from Brisbane, Queensland, to Tasmania for a much loved tree change.
We’re recently back home in beautiful Tasmania after an unforgettable year away (2025) on our PLU adventure, travelling through the UK and Europe. As we were both born in the UK (me in Cornwall and Paul in London), reconnecting with our roots was amazing.
We’d love to welcome you to our home for hospitality, simultaneous or non-simultaneous exchanges, or non-reciprocal stays. We’re always happy to accept Globes 😃
Our home has three listings, all within the main house. The whole home can be booked, or the Studio and Guest Wing can be used separately via internal locked doors, each with its own private entrance. Lots of flexibility options.
We enjoy sharing our home and meeting new people.
We also run our own Airbnb and have stayed in many ourselves, always with 5-star reviews on both sides. Hosting comes naturally to us.
Now that our renovations are almost (one bathroom left to go!) complete, we’re looking forward to slowing down a little, enjoying everything Tasmania has to offer, and continuing our PLU experience.
