Possibly our most magical PLU exchange yet - Ali and Paul’s house is absolutely beautiful and is situated amongst the most stunning scenery. The fresh Tassie air and drinking water, a cosy log fire and comfy bedrooms and a fabulous kitchen all made for the perfect family stay. Ali even made our 9 year old a birthday cake and it was delicious. I can’t recommend this home enough - we really hope we can convince Ali and Paul to exchange with us again some time!
Wow just wow, Tasmania has blown us all away and Ali and Pauls place is perfect in every way. The view from the deck is stunning and ever changing, we watched wildlife that visited in the evening and were treated to a great night of star gazing ( something we don’t see in London)
Their home is so comfortable, perfect for a larger group and the beds were the best I’ve ever slept in away from home. Ali’s kitchen has everything you could ever want and more. The only downside is that we were only there for a week as it was part of a bigger trip but we will definitely return.
Ali and Paul are truly what People like us stand for and I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them as exchange partners.
Thankyou both for the opportunity
Anna & Gary
Thanks so much! We look forward to seeing you again one day and you’re always welcome here as a hospitality stay too xx
From start to finish, our time at Ali and Paul's beautiful Tasmanian farm was among our most unique, special, and memorable exchanges. At five weeks it was also our longest!
Traveling as much as we do, it's important not only to experience someplace new, but also to truly feel at home in someone else's space, especially on longer exchanges. For us, feeling at home means, above all, a comfortable environment both indoors and outside and a well-stocked kitchen with quality utensils and appliances. We couldn't have asked for better at Paul and Ali's house! The house is well organized with ample kitchen and household supplies, and being there in the fall we primarily used the wood stove for heat, with plenty of firewood available.
Five weeks gave us time to relax at home as well as to explore Tasmania. We picked blackberries on their property, hiked a number of tracks throughout their region, enjoyed local markets, visited wineries and cider houses, and ventured into the big-tree forests of Tasmania's southwestern mountains. We thoroughly enjoyed their two cows and chooks, and all the wild birds and unique wildlife at home on their property.
Overnight road trips included the Tamar Valley in the north of the island for its wine culture and much of the eastern coast, including spectacular Freycinet National Park and Bruny Island.
The 20-minute drive to Huonville (largest town in the region) is through rolling hills and scenic farm country along one of Tasmania's largest rivers, with some of the island's highest mountains always in view. Cygnet, Franklin and Geevestown are other charming towns in the area. The region is famous for its apples (harvested while we were there), and local grocery stores, butchers and outdoor markets offer lots of great produce.
We were thrilled with our time in Tasmania, and with our choice of Ali and Paul's farm as a base from which to explore the island. Communication with them was always timely, helpful, and enjoyable. They have our highest recommendation, and we look forward to hosting them in Estepona soon!
Thank you so much for your amazing home feedback! We’re blown away by your generous words.
We can’t wait to visit yours in Estapona in September x
The house is great really well set up. Clean, comfortable and has great views. Plenty to do in the Huon Valley we recommend the Hastings Cave and the Tahuna Airwalk. Get over to Bruny Island as well.
We had a wonderful stay at Ali and Paul’s very comfortable home for a month. The views up the Huon Valley are fabulous, and it was such a delight to wake up to them each morning and then admire the sunset colours each evening on the deck. The king bed was so comfortable, the kitchen stocked with everything you’d need, and we enjoyed collecting fresh eggs, and plums, beans and zucchinis from the garden. The house is in a very quiet, rural location and the peace and tranquility is very calming. Lots to see in that corner of Tassie, and handy to Hobart too. It was a pleasure dealing with our great hosts; I think we just might go back, and move on in! 😉
What an amazing time we had in Tasmania. Where do I start? Ali and Paul’s home is lovely. Immaculate with gorgeous open Mountain Views from their deck and kitchen. The upper level has a studio and two further bedrooms which were great for our family to stay with us for part of the time and private for them. Everything was organised perfectly and easy to find and lots of nice touches for travellers. Super accommodation. Tasmania - well beautiful scenery, beaches, produce and quiet roads! We loved the Huon valley taking a trip on the river and visiting all the lovely local produce stalls, buying fruit and drinking cider. The walk in the Hartz mountains was a favourite. We took some time out in the North and at Frecynet but loved coming back to the Huon. Am sure we will visit again one day if they will let us! Communication was great even though Ali and Paul are travelling and we hope they are having the same lovely experience as we did and look forward to meeting them in May. The whole experience was perfect. Jane and Alan from Pembrokeshire
Thanks so much! We’re thrilled you had a wonderful time at our place . We are looking forward to meeting you and Alan and staying in your lovely home in May! x
Ali’s place is a MUST for respite and to clock off from the craziness of life. Ali has thought of everything and her house manual is the best we have experienced in 10+ years of house swapping. Location is practical and incredible - a paradise for foodies. We loved our stay and highly recommend it to others. If ever Ali needs a house/pet sitter we will be first to volunteer!
Aww, thanks for your kind words Julie. We would love for you and Alex to come back as a house/pet sitter, or another exchange or even as a future neighbour!! 😃 xx
Ali is an absolute Queen of Hospitality! Our family of four with two teenagers had a fabulous 8 night stay in her and Paul’s extremely comfortable and superbly equipped home.
The location on the Huon River with beautiful views of the valley and mountains was quiet and peaceful. Each of the teenagers had their own personal ‘wing’ of the house with their own bedroom, bathroom and kitchenette - which they adored. We loved having the master suite and never hearing the teenagers!
Ali is a great communicator and was attentive but not intrusive with her messaging. We felt very well looked after from the thoughtful welcome pack of goodies, to the comprehensive house manual and the guidance and recommendations for the local area.
There is so much to see and do in the surrounding area that we only scratched the surface in this visit. The Huon Valley is a really beautiful part of the world, with lovely, welcoming people, and we hope to return soon!
Thank you for your kind words Tamara! We’re thrilled you enjoyed your stay.
Ali and Paul were the most friendly and lovely hosts welcoming us into their beautiful home with a delicious home cooked meal. We stayed in the studio which was very comfortable with a wonderful large bed and good linen.
The house is located in an unspoilt valley with amazing views and peaceful surroundings yet only a shirt distance to shops in Huonville. We walked along the gravel road alongside the river as a very pleasant way to chat with Ali and Paul.
A highlight was an hours drive through the forest to hike to some of the tallest trees on the planet!
Thank you so much Ali and Paul. We really enjoyed meeting you and appreciate you hosting a mini PLU meet up as well.
Thank you very much Ali and Paul for the wonderful stay at your home.
We did so much enjoy the views, the peaceful atmosphere and the nature around your house. Your concept of growing own veggies, having hens, sheep and cows that live a happy life was such a good experience, especially for our son.
You have been perfect hosts, always in good contact, giving us all the support we needed when I had some health issues. And we did so much enjoy our get-togethers!
Judbury is a perfect spot for a few calm days in nature, paired with day-trips to Hobart and all the sights around there.
We hope we can host you while you are in Europe!
Hi Anita,
Thank you for the lovely feedback.
It truly was a joy to meet you all.
I had a great girls road-trip with you in to Hobart, even though it was for a medical appointment.
Take cate and enjoy the rest of your Australia trip. Hope to see you next year!
Ali and Paul 🌼😃
Alison and I regularly communicated and I felt as if I were visiting a friend by the time we arrived. It simply is breathtaking. Never before had I stayed anywhere with such views and was more than happy to enjoy a drink in the beautiful terraces.
Our daughter and grandson stayed in the one bed studio and there is also a two bed apartment. We stayed in the main house, which was so comfortable.
Plenty to do in the area and lots of wildlife too. We spotted wallabies and a Tasmanian devil nipping about.
If you get the chance to stay here then don’t hesitate. Truly unforgettable
Thanks Alison and Paul xxx
Alison and Paul were the most delightful hosts. Our West Wing of their home was private, comfortable and welcoming. The Huon Valley is a beautiful area of Tasmania, with tranquility, nature & history at every turn.
A great area to use as a base to discover the Huon Valley.
Thank you Alison and Paul for making us so welcome with all the little special extras and your great company. Sandra & reg.
It was the best exchange ! Ali and Paul are such nice people!!! When we arrived late they even made us spaghetti Bolognese and fresh baked bread and they welcomed us with a full fridge . We had dinner together a few times and they gave us fresh vegetables from their garden and it was just absolutely great ! We had great conversations and they loved our little girl. The apartment was perfectly clean and we felt very comfortable! Thanks so much again
We had a wonderful relaxing time in Alison & Paul’s home .
The home is welcoming and cozy , just like it’s hosts
It’s is close to the sites of Huonville for day tripping or just a lovely spot to stop and relax in .
It was lovely to meet Alison & Paul and look forward to doing another exchange with them in the future 😊
Communication with Ali was brilliant - prompt and comprehensive.
I’m really happy they enjoyed their stay at our home, which they left immaculate.
We love sharing our home - especially with people like Ali.
It was our pleasure 😃🌼
Wow, I think I might invite Ali & Paul to stay every time we go away on holidays. They left the house cleaner than it's ever been in its life.
Don't hesitate to have them as guests. They will care for your home lovingly and they communicate every step of the way.
I can't wait to catch up with them again when we visit them at their home.
Thanks so much Lyn and Ian. It was our pleasure! :-)
We first reached out to Ali and Paul a year and a half ago, and their time at our place in September 2025 completed our full circle of exchange (we were at their beautiful farm in Tasmania in April 2025). From first correspondence until now and beyond, a wonderful and lasting friendship has developed! Communication between us has always been easy, responsive and timely, and we effortlessly adapted to each other’s needs when schedules had to change. In every way they were perfect guests in our home, leaving our apartment tidy and spotless. Should they reach out to you for an exchange, don’t hesitate to welcome them into your home!
Ali and Paul were the perfect guests. It truly felt like they were looking after our home, not just staying there. They offered to do some odd jobs round the house and left the place clean and ready for the next guests, with the bonus of leaving a home-cooked welcome meal!
The communication was quick and easy and it felt like chatting with friends. If you get the chance to meet or exchange with them I would only recommend. I hope in the future our paths cross ✨️❤️.
We met up with Ali and Paul one day in York whilst they were staying in our home. What a lovely couple they are, warm, friendly and considerate.
They left our home in pristine condition and were excellent at communicating with us throughout their stay. Their home in Australia sounds amazing, and if we were younger, we’d have loved to have paid them a visit one day.
A* guests.
Thanks so much Jan and Don. If you ever feel the need for a long haul trip to Australia 😆 we would love to welcome you both 🥰
I really enjoyed communication with Ali, it was light and fun and put us at ease that our home and garden was being well cared for, which helped us to relax on our travels!
It was great to briefly meet Ali and Paul when we popped back home to collect something, and we are looking forward to meeting them properly when they are back in our area in a few weeks time.
We would definitely recommend an exchange with them! Lovely people ❤️
Ali and Paul have been absolutely amazing guests. Despite not meeting them in person, you know when you get that feeling that someone is a little ray of sunshine... Well that's Ali 😊
They have taken wonderful care of our home on a globe swap, offering to mow the lawn and dead head the roses.
They have been very easy to communicate with, and have been so patient with a little alarm issue that cropped up.
We felt very confident that our home was being well looked after. We would absolutely have them to stay again at any point and highly recommend them as guests. Thank you so, so much both of you, 😊🙏
We loved every minute! Thank you for being such amazing hosts 😊🌼❤️
Ali and Paul were the most wonderful guests. They spent 10 days at my home but it looked as if they were never there on leaving - sparkly clean! We had great communication throughout and it was a pleasure to arrange the exchange. You are most welcome if you ever wish to come again!
Thank you so much Molly! We look forward to hosting you in the future x
We were very fortunate to have had Ali and Paul as our very first guests and we spent a lovely evening together before we set off on our holidays. We couldn’t have asked for a better start to our PLU journey! They are experienced exchangers and gave us lots of tips and advice and more importantly completely put our minds at ease.
Communication was excellent, before, during and after our exchange which made all the difference.
They left our home in an immaculate condition and we look forward to reciprocating when we stay at their home in September.
Safe travelling
Anna & Gary
Thanks so much Anna! We ‘re looking forward to hosting you and Gary. :-)
Ali and Paul were perfect guests and we loved having them in our home. They were appreciative and friendly and neat and tidy, leaving our home immaculate.
They enjoyed our whole location; the cottage and garden and the Pembrokeshire experience which was lovely.
We were so fortunate to meet them personally and enjoyed their company and loved hearing about their epic PLU adventure. They have really embraced the spirit of the exchange experience. We hope to meet in Tasmania again one day.
Ali and Paul stayed at our home for two months whilst we travelled in Vietnam and Australia. They requested a list of jobs they could do during the stay! We arrived home to a perfect garden (yard!), a great compost bin, jet washed patio and much more. The house was spotless and they kindly left us gifts too. They are the perfect guests and life long friends too. Thank you so much x
Such a pleasure to host Ali and Paul- communication before and during their stay was great, it was lovely to receive videos and photos of their trip. The house was left in immaculate condition and we can’t wait to visit Ali and Paul in Tasmania
Ali and Paul are everything that is good about hosting people through PLU. Not only did they leave our home immaculate, their communication was excellent and we had the true pleasure of meeting and socialising with them. We hope we can welcome them back again and are seriously considering a trip to Australia and Tasmania one day. Thank you Ali and Paul!
If you want some nice friendly people from Tasmania Australia as your guests these ones might be one of the best! We had the chance to meet Ali, Paul, Penny & Nick over a lunch in our home before we left ourselves for a tropical Christmas in Tulum Mexico - while they where having a white Christmas at our place. We felt totaly calm about leaving our home and our cat Sigge in their hands. Such great guests! They even cooked us some meals waiting for us in the fridge when we where coming home. So kind! Our home was spotless clean when coming home, almost as they haven’t been there. We are glad that Alison was able to make her maybe first snow angel on the nearby frozen river. And that Paul was able to try out snowmobiling with some friendly villagers. And that you did see the best silent New Years fireworks - the northern lights, just close to our home. We have had great communication all the way and if we ever end up going to Tasmania their place is a must to visit. Warmly recomended as guests by us. Let’s stay in touch. Best regards
xx
Ali was a brilliant guest, very organised communicating all their plans well in advanced- they are seasoned hoke swappers! They took care of our little dog last minute too which really helped- as well as fixing our dining table- bests guests EVER!! I wish them luck for the rest of their big trip!
Paul and Ali were wonderful guests who stayed in my home while visiting their family. From the start, Ali was excellent to communicate with—always prompt, courteous, and clear in her responses, which made coordinating their stay very easy.
During their visit, they took great care of the house and left everything in perfect condition. It was an absolute joy to have them, and I highly recommend them to any host. I would gladly welcome them back anytime
Paul had his license to drive our motorhome, so we met at their home and did an easy swap for them to travel in it at their leisure.
They looked after it , even washing in before return :)
Look forward to doing another swap with them again in the future 😊
We enjoyed the most superb week at Lesley and Phil’s stunning home in Penguin.
Perched high on the hill with sweeping views of the coastline.
We especially loved the sunroom, an ideal spot to relax and watch the ever changing sea, sky, whales and calves passing by.
Their kitchen would entice even a novice cook to whip up a gourmet meal. It was wonderful to pick some fresh herbs from their garden too,
We were very comfortable in the downstairs guest double bedroom.
Penguin town is a delightful seaside town and a perfect base for exploring the surrounding region, from Cradle Mountain to Stanley and beyond. The local cafes, friendly community, and scenic walks along the foreshore made our stay even more enjoyable. Everything we needed was close by, yet the peaceful setting made it feel a world away.
Lesley and Phil were generous, thoughtful hosts, making communication easy and the exchange seamless. Their home radiates care and warmth, and we felt instantly at ease the moment we arrived. We’re so grateful to have experienced this beautiful part of Tasmania and look forward to hosting them at ours in South Tasmania.
It was our absolute pleasure to meet and host Amy, Darrel, and their three (cute as button) boys.
After our wonderful stay in their beautiful home in Llanbedrog Wales many months ago, it was so lovely to reciprocate.
They were amazing and thoughtful guests, leaving our home immaculate and showering us with gifts when they departed: a beautiful sketch of our home by Darrel, a bottle of wine, a hand written card from their boys, and even a new toy for our pooch, Janet.
A truly wonderful family! We’re so happy to have them as great new PLU friends 🌼❤️
Wow, what a treat!
We enjoyed five wonderful days at Lynette and Ian’s beautiful, welcoming home… the perfect place to unwind after our long trip overseas and on route to our home.
Stylish and comfortable, it has a superbly equipped kitchen, a dreamy main bedroom with a huge comfy bed, stunning views, and plenty of cosy spots to relax. The property is peaceful and private, with lovely gardens and seasonal produce, yet just minutes from great wineries, cafés, and shops.
We couldn’t recommend Lynette and Ian more highly and look forward to hosting them in the future.
Anna, Gary and Co were absolutely wonderful guests! From start to finish, communication was clear, friendly, and timely.
They treated our home with the utmost care, leaving it spotless, which made coming back a joy.
We also had the pleasure of meeting Anna and Gary in London during our time at their lovely home and feel we’ve made some great new friends.
We’re sure to stay in touch, and they would be welcome in our home anytime.
We can’t recommend them highly enough for any future exchanges 😃
All the best,
Anna and Gary! xx
Michele and Larry’s apartment is right up there with the very best exchanges we’ve ever had! ⭐️ The apartment was spotless and very comfortable and we immediately felt like home.
Also loved the extra large king size bed!
The sea view is spectacular and we spent hours on the terrace soaking up sunrises, sunsets, the full moon, and even a perfectly timed lunar eclipse.
Being just steps away from the pool and the beach made it even more special.
Michele and Larry were outstanding hosts. Their warm hospitality, great communication, and detailed house manual was fabulous.
This exchange was truly a highlight of our travels, and we’re so grateful to Michele and Larry for sharing their beautiful home. We recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone seeking a memorable getaway.
We had an amazing stay at Lisa’s home in Whitehaven. The house is warm, comfortable and had everything we needed, and Lisa’s communication throughout was excellent. She gave us wonderful suggestions, which really helped us make the most of our time.
We loved walking the coastal path to St Bees, and with a hire car we explored further afield … the Lake District and Hadrian’s Wall were definite highlights. Whitehaven itself was a delight too, full of history and charm, just as Lisa described.
Her home made the perfect base for our adventures, and we felt very at ease there. We’re so grateful for the exchange ❤️🌼
We had a wonderful two weeks at Jan and Don’s lovely home in Beverley.
We’d never heard of Beverley before, but what a gem!
A beautiful market town with a spectacular Minster, St Mary’s Church, canal walks, and a buzzing square filled with markets, pubs, tea rooms, restaurants and shops. The town centre is less than five minutes walk away, and with the train station just three minutes’ walk, York, Hull, Scarborough and many more are an easy day trip.
After exploring, it was bliss to return to their spotless, well equipped home….everything we needed was there, the bed was wonderfully comfortable, and the recliners were perfect for relaxing.
We couldn’t have asked for better hosts, and it was such a treat to meet Jan and Don for lunch in York 🥰
Highly recommended….Beverley really is a hidden treasure 💎
We enjoyed our two week stay at Ali and Tim’s home. Ali was warm, helpful, and a great communicator throughout.
Their terraced house is cosy, with everything we needed for our stay. We appreciated the thoughtful touches like the garden produce, digital radio, magnifying mirror and the fans were a welcome relief when the temperature reached 32° C ( 90°F) 🥵
Their garden was a lovely spot for morning coffee, and we especially enjoyed watching the local homing pigeons circle overhead in the evenings.
The location was ideal, an easy walk or quick bus ride into beautiful Cheltenham, with plenty to explore in the Cotswolds and beyond.
Thank you, Ali, Tim and family for sharing your home with us 😃🌼
Thanks Ali and Paul for the lovely comments and looking after our home and garden!
Wow, what can I say other than if you have the chance to exchange with Katie and Simon, grab it!
We’ve just finished a wonderful two-week stay in their beautiful home, and it was superb from start to finish.
The house is spacious, comfortable, and equipped with everything you could possibly need. It was just the two of us, but it would be absolutely perfect for a family as well. The toy room would be a dream for little ones.
The location is great too, with plenty of interesting and scenic places nearby. There’s a bus stop literally next door with routes to Uttoxeter, Derby, Burton-upon-Trent, and more. We also enjoyed many lovely 40-minute walks into Uttoxeter via public footpaths. Such a pretty stroll.
Katie was incredibly kind, and communication before and during our stay was excellent. We felt completely at ease and well looked after.
We highly recommend an exchange with Katie and her family. Thank you again for everything!
We could not have asked for better guests. Thank you so much for taking care of our home. It was a pleasure to host you both 😊
We had a splendid 10 day non-sim stay in Molly’s flat.
It’s charming, comfortable, cosy and well equipped. Molly has thought of everything and the goodies she left was a thoughtful touch.
Ground floor access meant no heroic stair climbing.
The flat is literally a stone’s throw from the centre of Sidmouth. The location could not have been better!
Everything is just around the corner. Great shops, cafes, pubs, restaurants the beach, plus glorious coastal walks.
It’s a lovely ,quant, quintessential seaside town.
We had a grand morning at the world’s largest Donkey Sanctuary…… the local bus goes past there regularly. We caught the bus there and had a lovely hilly walk back using the scenic public footpaths.
Molly’s communication was spot on throughout. Clear prompt, friendly and helpful.
Thank you Molly for sharing your delightful home. It made the perfect base for exploring this most beautiful part of Devon.
We look forward to hosting Molly in Tasmania one day.
We had the most wonderful Non- Sim five night stay at Anna and Gary’s gorgeous home in North East London. They might be new to PLU but you’d honestly never know. Everything was set up beautifully and felt totally effortless, like seasoned swappers!
Their home is very stylish, while being so comfy too…..and full of thoughtful touches. Our bed felt like sleeping on a cloud with the softest sheets, and the garden out the back was such a lovely spot to kick back and relax after a day out and about. Getting into central London was a breeze on the train and if you love a bit of retail therapy or catching a movie, the nearby Westfield is absolutely huge. We were dazzled and bamboozled all at the same time 😅🤣
Anna and Gary were amazing hosts. Anna cooked us a delicious dinner before they set off on their holiday, which was such a kind and generous gesture. We had a great evening together and feel like we’ve made lovely new PLU friends.
We’re really looking forward to welcoming them to our place in September. Highly recommend their home and their warm hospitality!
Thank you Ali and Paul it was truly a pleasure meeting you both
Jane and Alan’s home was an absolute delight!
It is beautifully renovated, stylish and welcoming. Perched above a glorious estuary with views that made us question why we ever left the house. The setting is so peaceful we often abandoned our sightseeing plans just to enjoy the serenity.
Tucked in the heart of Pembrokeshire Coast National Park, it’s perfect for walkers, and only 15 - 20 minutes from so many charming and historical towns and coastal walks we wanted to explore.
Best of all, Jane and Alan were incredible hosts. We arrived to a thoughtful bag of goodies, including scrumptious homemade jam and chutney in the fridge.
The home welcome manual, plus maps and books of the area were very helpful.
They introduced us to local walking friends and even threw a BBQ with neighbours….we felt like part of the village within days.
We were lucky enough to host them earlier this year, and this exchange has been everything and more than we could have ever wished for.
It was an absolute pleasure to host Michele and Larry…they were truly delightful guests. Communication was always prompt, friendly, and thoughtful, and we especially enjoyed a lovely video call with them midway through their stay. They left our home in immaculate condition and even took the extra step of refilling the firewood basket for future guests, which we really appreciated. We’re now very much looking forward to our stay in their home in Estepona, Spain this September. Michele and Larry would be welcome back anytime!
Mark and Paddy was fantastic exchange guests. Communication was effortless, and they left the property just as they found it. Highly recommend.
It’s a shame we didn’t get the chance to meet them.
Judbury and your home were great. We had a lovely time. Come visit South Australia some time. Mark and Paddy.
It’s hard to put into words just how wonderful our two month non- sim stay at Liz and Max’s home was. Their house is incredibly comfortable and welcoming, and perfectly located for public transport, shops, plus pretty country walks. It was close to everything we needed. We especially loved starting our mornings in the beautiful conservatory with breakfast, and then in their pretty as a picture garden for a relaxed afternoon drink.
The kitchen was very well equipped, and the bed ensured a great night’s sleep….something we really appreciate during an extended stay.
Having the time to immerse ourselves in the local area and explore further afield was a real privilege. It was so lovely to meet Liz and Max both before they left and again when they returned from their trip to Oz.
We feel we’ve made wonderful new PLU friends, and will definitely stay in touch.
Thanks so much for a fabulous stay! 🙏 ❤️
If you don’t enjoy a warm, comfortable home in picturesque Wales with everything you need for an amazing stay….well, this place isn’t for you! 😆
From spectacular walks and stunning views to a great pub and a handy little grocery store just a stone’s throw away, it’s the perfect spot to unwind. Plenty of local restaurants make for the ideal lazy lunch after a scenic stroll. We skipped the hire car, thanks to our legs doing most of the walking, along with the excellent local bus service and the Pwllheli railway station nearby.
Amy was an incredible host, warm, friendly, and always quick to respond. Thank you for a truly wonderful stay! We can’t wait to return the favour and host you and family in Tasmania ❤️ x
We had the absolute pleasure of hosting Nette and Andrew in our Tassie home, and we couldn’t have asked for better guests! From the very start, their communication was fantastic, thoughtful, friendly, funny and always clear, which made the whole exchange a breeze.
Not only were they incredibly respectful of our home, but they also went above and beyond to leave it immaculate for our next PLU guests. It was a joy to see the wonderful photos they shared of their time at ours. Paul and I loved seeing them enjoying the space and surroundings.
We wholeheartedly recommend Nette and Andrew to any future PLU exchanges. They’re the kind of guests who make house exchanging such a rewarding experience. Thank you both xx
It was wonderful to have Jane, Alan and their extended family from Sydney stay in our home.
As soon as we had a video call with them many months ago, we knew they would be fabulous guests. Communication before and after was amazing.
They embraced a few places we recommended, and even had a cuppa with our neighbours!
Being we have back to back stays while we are away for 12 months, they left the house in perfect order for our next PLU guests.
We look forward to staying at their lovely home in Wales UK and meeting them in person soon.
Gold star hosts ⭐️
We had the most wonderful stay in Ali and Gus’s apartment. Beautifully appointed, perfectly located, and the bed… oh, so comfortable!
Communication with Ali was spot on… helpful without being intrusive. The view of Edinburgh Castle from the window was absolutely spectacular. Being just a stone’s throw from Grassmarket and a short stroll to the Royal Mile (and beyond) made it an ideal base.
A real highlight was meeting Ali and Gus. We shared a lovely meal at a charming local restaurant, filled with lively conversation and plenty of laughs.
We’d be thrilled to host them in Tasmania one day!
Julie, Alex, and family were perfect PLU house exchange guests!
Communication with them was brilliant , and they left our home spotless, just as they found it.
We’re thrilled they enjoyed their stay and hope to stay in touch - who knows, we may even become neighbour's someday, as they’re considering a move to the Huon Valley!
We had the most wonderful three week exchange at Karin and Peter’s beautiful home in Sweden for a magical white Christmas.
My sister and brother-in - law came joined us as well.
Karin and Peter met us in their home and prepared a beautiful lunch for us all before heading to Mexico for their Christmas.
Their home was gorgeous, warm, spacious, comfortable, and perfectly set up for a relaxing stay. We loved the kitchen to prepare a few home cooked meals.
The location is ideal, with easy bus access to Luleå, making it simple to explore the area.
We packed so many incredible experiences, from dog sledding through snowy landscapes, an exciting ice hockey game, and witnessing the breathtaking northern lights on at midnight on New Year’s Eve… such an unforgettable moment!
And of course, a special mention goes to Sigge Stardust 🐈😻who truly lived up to his name! He kept us entertained and was a delightful companion during our stay.
Karin and Peter’s thoughtful preparation and warm communication made the exchange seamless. Karin is a wealth of knowledge about local interesting things to see and do. We are so grateful for the opportunity to stay in their home and experience such a magical winter wonderland. Thank you for such an amazing time! xx
Thank you Alison, Paul, Penny and Nick you where the most perfect guests and we are so glad that we where able to meet you in person and that you enjoyed the time in our home! You will always be welcome back! Stay in touch.
Tamara, James, and their girls were absolutely fantastic PLU guests.
Their communication with us was excellent, and they thoughtfully left detailed departure information to help prepare for the next PLU guests arriving in a few days. Even though we didn’t meet in person, we feel like we’ve made a great new PLU friendship.
Thank you Ali - we feel the same and hope to meet you and Paul next time!
We had the most wonderful time at Jess and Rocky’s home. Their home was very comfortable and was within easy walking distance to shops , parks, Kingston-upon -Thames shops, historical sites, great pubs and walks along the Thames, along with Kingston train station to travel into London.
There pooch Fig 🐾 🥰 was a delight to look after - such a funny little fellow with a great personality.
It was a great base to get over our jet lag and to start the rest of our holiday 😃
We had a fantastic 5-day stay at Russell’s beautiful Gold Coast home.
It was the perfect place to relax, visit family, and soak up the warm Queensland sunshine.
Russell’s home was very comfortable and clean. We couldn’t have asked for more!
The location was convenient, with everything we needed nearby, and a pleasant 20-minute walk to the large shopping centre at Robina with loads of shops, restaurants and cinema’s.
It was our absolute pleasure to welcome Carey and Peter.
We loved sharing a meal with them when they first arrived. They are such a lovely, warm couple, we immediately felt at ease. So much so, we all enjoyed a couple of local walks together, plus hosting a mini PLU meet-up was a joy!
They stayed in The Studio, which is a private self catering section of the main house. They loved the big bed and quality linen.
They were great sports when one of the Studio’s lower kitchen cupboard shelves mysteriously decided to fall down with an almighty crash in the middle of the night 😱. NB shelf is now fixed 😃👍
They left everything in the Studio in perfect order, along with a beautiful card thanking us.
The valley's serene beauty is something special, and we're elated they had the chance to explore.
Finding the tallest flowering tree’s on the planet would have been a highlight!
It was great to meet them, and we very much look forward to seeing them again when we head across the ditch to New Zealand one of these days.
Anita, Matthias, and Simon were gems during their hospitality stay.
Their warmth and organisation were evident from the moment they arrived.
They left their space spotless, and sharing a meal with them was a highlight.
We are so pleased they had a chance to explore some beautiful local areas.
Since they are travelling for a few months it was also nice for them to relax and recharge their batteries too.
We would gladly welcome them back anytime, and wholeheartedly endorse them as exchange partners.
Here's to hoping our paths cross again during our travels!
Liz, Max, daughter Sophie and adorable grandson Leo stayed at ours for a few nights. It was wonderful to meet them (albeit briefly) before I headed off on a mini holiday of my own.
They left our place spic and span 🙏 plus some lovely sunset pics of their stay along with a video of little Leo feeding the chickens and sheep. His little laugh is so cute 🥰
We look forward catching up again and staying at theirs when we head to UK later this year 🤩
It was sensational to meet Sandra and Reg! Such a warm and friendly couple and a wealth of knowledge about all things house exchanging.
They left everything in the house spic and span. We look forward to staying at their beautiful place in Agnes Water on day.
It was our absolute pleasure to have Katharina, Moritz and lovely little Leni stay at our house. It was a hospitality/non-simultaneous exchange.
Being our first PLU non-sum exchange we couldn’t have asked for better! They are an AMAZING young couple and their little one Leni is a delight 💕
They had their own private area in our house. We respected each others privacy, but also got together many times for meals, chats and laughs.
We couldn’t have asked for friendlier, kinder, funner, positive and helpful people. They left everything so very clean and tidy too.
Moritz even helped us stack 100’s of our hay bales into our shed, and Kathi made the YUMMIEST garlicky aioli ever!
We look forward to staying in their apartment in 2024, but much more to catch up with them again!
Loved every minute of it 😃
Pauline and Cameron’s luxury motorhome was nothing short of amazing.
Being able to stay in a spectacular remote location and have a comfortable (deluxe) space to enjoy after a day’s exploration was the best!
We were so pleased they allowed us to take our pooch Janet along with us too.
We loved every minute! Thanks guys :-)
Pauline, Cameron and friends looked after our hens and our house so well. They were kind, fun l, friendly & helpful. They left everything spic and span!
It was great to have the opportunity to meet such lovely people.

Paul and I are in our 60’s and young at heart.
We moved from Brisbane in Queensland in 2018 for a Tasmanian tree change.
We’re recently back in beautiful Tasmania after our unforgettable year away (2025) PLU adventure travelling through the UK and Europe. We were both born in the UK (me in Cornwall and Paul in London), so reconnecting with our roots was very special.
We’d love to welcome you to our home for hospitality, simultaneous and non-simultaneous exchanges, or non-reciprocal stays. We are always open to a accepting Globes 😃
Sharing our home and meeting new people is something we truly enjoy.
We also run our own Airbnb, as well as staying in many ourselves… always with 5 star reviews on both sides. Hosting comes naturally to us, and we love creating a warm and welcoming space for our guests.
Now that our house renovations are (almost) complete , we’re excited to relax a little, enjoy all that Tasmania has to offer, and continue our PLU experience.
We’d be delighted to hear from you ❤️
