General overview

CHECK our calendar for availability - it should be up to date :) Embark on an idyllic rural haven with direct river access and Australian native encounters. Our home is (mostly) renovated and in a spectacular rural setting. If you're looking for somewhere close to nature, walking trails, and peaceful look no further. Our home is split level with the lower level having the most spectacular views over the Snowy Range. Our profile picture is on Bruny Island. A must to visit while here. The house is situated on 15 acres with direct access to the Huon River. Enjoy salmon and trout fishing in the season. There is a large covered deck which overlooks the whole property. The local area is teaming with native wildlife; wombats, wallabies, kangaroos, pademelons, spotted quolls, Tasmanian Devils and platypus along with many species of native birds. There is a large vegetable patch and poly tunnel, along with a few chickens and two steers. They will be cared for by local friends. There’s many scenic short and day long walking tracks in the Huon Valley. We Invite you to experience the unparalleled beauty and tranquility of rural Tasmania. Tasmania offers a unique blend of rugged wilderness and cultural charm, with opportunities for hiking in ancient rainforests, exploring historic towns, and indulging in gourmet food and wine. Our home provides the perfect base for them to immerse yourselves in all that Tasmania has to offer, with its comfortable amenities and convenient location. From breathtaking sunsets over the Tasmanian coast to encounters with native wildlife, a home exchange in Tasmania promises an unforgettable adventure that you won't find anywhere else.

Welcome to our incredibly versatile home, perfect for groups or couples alike! With 4 bedrooms, two with en-suite, a main bathroom, plus stunning views. ALL 4 beds are Australian king size (183cm x 203cm ) and very comfy. One of the beds separates into two singles with each single being (92cm x 203cm) The lower level has a main bedroom with en-suite, a spacious fully equipped newly designed kitchen with breakfast bar, 6 seater dining, and a deck overlooking our 15-acre property. Upstairs, has three bedrooms , two small kitchens/kitchenette’s and a cozy office for remote work. This house is ideal for a larger group, as it is great for those who a want some privacy and independence too. It works just as well for just two people as you can close a sliding door to the upstairs section and feel cosy in your space downstairs. Our other two listings are part of the main house, but can be locked to remain private. The Studio #27287 The West Wing #30116

Guest access

Level access is from the front door into the top level of the house with a comfortable staircase (just 10 steps) with a handrail down to the lower living space.

Notes

There is a small cottage on the property which we rent out permanently. It is approx 70 metres away from the main house and is fully fenced and private from the main house. We also have 4 external security camera's. We installed them mainly to see the activity of the night-time native wildlife. There are no inside cameras.

Neighbourhood

The neighbourhood is wild, beautiful, and quite rural. The main town of Huonville is approx 15 mins drive away. You’ll find a couple of supermarkets and all other amenities you need. We are approx 4 km along a well graded unsealed road. There are numerous beautiful natural attractions, mountains to climb, National Parks and local villages to explore.

Getting to my home

You will most likely need a hire car. You may be able to borrow our 5 seater 2022 Subaru Forester. The road is unsealed, but well maintenance by the local council. Our house is approx 4km (2.5miles) along.

Nearest airport

Fly into Hobart airport. The house is a 1 hour drive South. We are more than happy to arrange a pick up from the airport or there is a bus from Hobart to Huonville.

Getting around

You will most likely need a hire car. You may be able to borrow our 5 seater 2022 Subaru Forester. An Uber or taxi from Hobart airport is approx $120.

We would love to welcome you for hospitality stays, sim, non-sim exchanges, plus gratefully accept Globes for non reciprocal exchanges. We have run our own Airbnb’s, for 5 yrs, and been Airbnb guests…..we always get 5 star reviews. Now our house renovations are (almost) complete, it’s our turn to travel and relax.
