General overview

The space
Our house is large (240 sqm) and has two living levels that are connected by an open gallery. Our garden is spacious and well maintained with beautiful mature trees and shrubs, perfect for relaxing in the hammock or on the patio or lawn or for a barbecue on our Napoleon gas grill. Have you ever had dinner with a table fire?
Our living room offers a high-quality couch ensemble (Rolf Benz). Tempur mattress with electrified frame in master bedroom relieves back pain. In the kitchen and bathroom you will find wooden parquet floors or tiles with underfloor heating. We have a piano to play and a great record fireplace in the hall, cozy for fall or winter! Wood at your disposal.
Our house is very suitable for a family with children, you will find some attractions in the house and garden (transom, tree house, lots of toys and bicycles), but you may notice that our terrace does not have railings. We love our floor-heated kitchen, completely and very comfortably equipped (high-quality dishwasher, induction hob & oven, steamer, espresso machine) located in a former winter garden (it's like cooking in the garden). Sonos sound system for perfect sound, Amazon Prime. We have installed security cameras at our house entrance and terrace. In the basement you will find a washing machine and tumble dryer as well as a workshop. We offer a new great cross trainer for workout, bikes and yoga equipment.

Getting chickens to live in our garden. We would like to have our exchange partner take care of this. They are very easy to care for, you only have to feed them and let them in and out once a day. As a reward there are fresh eggs which are super tasty. If you can't take care of them, we will find another solution.
Our house is suitable for people with dust allergies and is very clean. I checked carpet-free in the allergy box as we have very few carpets that could be removed if desired.
Cleaning service is available by arrangement.
Car exchange is also possible by arrangement

Neighbourhood
Perfect combination of idyllic suburban tranquility, parks, nature reserve (running path), sports area, public beaches and lakes, but only 20 minutes to the city center (Alexanderplatz) by public transport. Don't miss the Mies van der Rohe House and the Hohenschönhausen Memorial. Area of historical interest: We live in the former East!
The sparkling Prenzlauer Berg is very close to our neighborhood and can be easily reached by public transport in 15 minutes, where you will find many cafés and restaurants. We have good tips for you on where to go since we lived there for years.
Berlin is amazing and full of sights, museums, theaters, opera, shopping, restaurants, sporting events, street life: one trip won't be enough... Meet the people, feel the atmosphere. You can reach all places and attractions by public transport.
Berlin is a safe place and easy to navigate for families with children.
Our neighbors are very friendly and open-minded and often meet with our exchange partners if they wish.
Getting to my home
Berlin is well connected by a very good public transport network. Two tram stops are 250 and 500 m away and lead to the city center (Alexanderplatz, Hackescher Markt, Mitte), Prenzlauer Berg and Friedrichsfelde (approx. 20 minutes).

BER / SFX, about 40 minutes by taxi or public transport about an hour
Getting around
Public transport is easy to use and the nearest tram stop is only 250 m from our house. Tier and Voi eScooters and eBikes available right on our street for easy access and transportation.
We would be happy to provide you with our bicycles upon request. Shops, bakeries and a grocery market are just a short walk or drive away. You can find addresses and descriptions in our extensive manual and map.
Car exchange is possible by arrangement.
