Welcome to Casa Buena Vista: Our slice of paradise sits on 2 acres and is located near a small town on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic.
It is an open floor plan, 3 bedroom/2 bath with beautiful views of ocean. The front facing windows draw you immediately and the invitation to sit on the porch rockers should not be ignored. There is also a back patio, gazebo, and splash pool.
We love the area for it's friendly mix of locals and expats, the calm and tranquil surroundings, and the beautiful natural features nearby (beaches, mangroves, waterfalls, caves, cenotes).

There is a large master bedroom with ensuite bath. It has a queen bed and space for an additional bed (at the moment we have a queen-size air mattress available as needed). The guest rooms each have a queen bed. The home is considered modern by local standards. There are high ceilings, two seating areas, a dining room table that seats 8, and a kitchen with an island, gas stove, a dishwasher, and microwave.

Katie's house is perfectly located, near to many beautiful beaches and up to the hill, so you can enjoy of a wonderful view of the coast and the sea.
The house has all the comforts you could need, with a lot of space and a terrace where you can relax, as well as a gazebo, a swimming pool and a beautiful garden. Communication has been excellent and Katie did the best to help us, including a very useful cleaning service.
Cabrera itself and the nearby cities offer a lot of places to visit and the possibility to walk near the countryside or practise water-sports.

We had a really great time at Katie’s home in cabrera! We enjoyed every minute. Playing pool at the gazebo, with a view on the ocean and the kids in the pool. The two cats were so sooooo cute. Always around us, cudling and playful. Our visits to playa grande, preciosa, arroya,… Laguna dudu, natural piscina rio San Juan, surfing at Playa encuentro,… Amazing❤️. Katie was an amazing host.!! While she was on holiday herself, she was always very fast to help or answer questions. Also prior to our trip she helped me planning. No question was too much trouble. Always very friendly and helpful! Thank you so so much!! Always welcome in Belgium or Hungary

This was a last minute exchange/connection due to the cancellation from our original hosts.
Katie made it possible in a record time with cristal clear communication. All tips and recommendations for our stay were valuable, and her 'house rules' were not only very precise and helpful but also the warmest and the most welcoming, ever.
A private house on a hill, a clean, airy and peaceful home surrounded by a lush garden, guarded by their 2 friendly cats whose company made our 5 1/2 year old daughter very happy. A gated property but not feeling apart from this friendly area (local village as well as Cabrera), easy to go around with the guagua (local minibus)-main road 7mn walk away- or with a rental car (Ramon & Keysi Rent Car were fair and friendly, we also totally recommend them).
Local fruit markets... supermarkets... daily life easy to organize.
Best grilled fish on the best beach of our 3 weeks journey: Playa Grande. And right by it, the most scenic one: Playa Preciosa.
Of course the house has all you need, drinkable water included, which we were grateful for, even if we came ready with our own. Beach towels and their great beach boomrang was a fun plus!
Master bedroom ensuite, with its couch/bed for our daughter was very comfortable, with large bay windows to wake up to the beautiful greenery. But most of our time at the house was spent on the porch, looking over the garden, at the birds, the ocean, the storms and the rainbows. The perfect place to also watch the rising sun while doing yoga (or drinking coffee says Ante :-) and the stars at night, sipping local Brugal Leyenda rhum and hearing bachata in the distance.
We just loved it.

We are located in the Catalina Hills just outside of the town of Cabrera. We are 10 minutes from a large, beautiful beach and 5-25 minutes from a number of other beaches.
