I wish I had found out about PLU sooner! It has allowed me to not only dream of travel, but to actually experience places I wouldn't have thought about before. The members are so friendly and the Administrator, Drew Seitam, responds quickly to questions or any user problems you may have. It's also fun to be a part of the Facebook group where you are in conversations with people from all over the world and get the scoop on where the locals recommend that you go to for sites and food.

It's the best way to go on holiday: - Much more personal and pleasant to stay in an ordinary house than in an impersonal hotel room; - You meet local people much more easily; - it's also cheaper, so you can go away more often, and stay longer, which is better for you sustainability. People Like Us is like belonging to an exclusive but friendly club. Drew, who created the website, is amazingly available for any help and advice, as is his team. Other members always seem to respond quickly and positively, even if they can't manage the exchange you might have in mind, they'll almost always try to help. Basically, it's for 'people like us' - adventurous, warm, outgoing travellers who like other people and are inclined to trust them. It's not for everyone, but if you like the idea of something new, something different and the chance to meet other like minded friends it's for you.
