The Rectory is a fully-detached, comfortable, spacious Victorian stone town house overlooking a lovely local park and with an East facing view over Morcambe Bay in the English Lake District. It has high ceilings and is a family home that comfortably sleeps five with easy access to a townland hill for walking among sheep and overlooking the local area and bay, market town pubs and shops. It is also within easy reach of many beautiful hikes and activities famous to the English Lake District. There is public transport available, both train and bus, but a car would be more convenient for exploring local hikes and mountains. The town centre is a five minute walk through a lovely church yard with grocery and gift stores aplenty. We usually book weekly food home deliveries from Tesco, one of our large local supermarket chains.
The Space
We enjoy relaxing in our sitting room on two large, comfortable sofas in which we read
or watch TV from. There is also an electronic piano with headphones and Amazon Firestick for streaming TV or Video.
The dining room has a sofa and ottoman plus a dining table that can comfortably seat 6-10 people. One wall of the dining room houses our library of books with a library ladder for those out of reach.
There is a study on the ground floor with sofa and two armchairs.
The kitchen is at the rear of the ground floor with a toilet nearby, full utility room and separate pantry. The kitchen hob is an induction stove top with electric ovens.
The rear garden has an adjoining garage used as a gym and game space with full ping pong table available.
The front garden slopes down from the house with a terrace for eating outside on warm days.
Upstairs there is a comfortable master bedroom with armchairs overlooking the park and views across Morecambe Bay to Grange and Lancaster. A small separate office room with desk faces the same view.
There is a self-contained toilet upstairs, plus a separate main bathroom (without toilet) and separate shower room with sink.
Three additional well sized bedrooms are for our children, and there is a trundle bed under one of their beds which can turn their room into a twin or double. One of the three rooms is the same size as the master bedroom also overlooking the park and bay.
The attic has a TV & games room, as well as large space for hanging out and playing music, and a sofa bed that sleeps one.
Guest Access
Three floors accessible by stairs only, but we have our own driveway and parking beside the house.
Notes
Smoking is permitted outside the house only please. We have a cockerpoo dog that is a low shed breed living with us, but we are likely to ask a friend to look after her when we are away.

Neighbourhood
The beautiful hill and parkland beside our house is open to the public and provides some lovely views East across Morecambe Bay, North to the hills and mountains of the Lake District and South over Furness Peninsula and beyond to Wales and Ireland on a clear day. The hill beside us is a 20-30 minute hike and popular for locals to walk their dogs or take exercise.
Getting to my home
Ulverston is on a main trainline from Manchester Airport that also goes down to Barrow town where car rental providers are based. The train from that airport is about two hours travel time either direct or with a transfer from Lancaster or Preston, which fast trains from London to Glasgow also stop at.
Driving from Manchester Airport is about an hour and a half. Driving from London is six to seven hours travel time.

Getting Around
We have supermarkets within a five to ten minute walk from the house, and the town high street is about a five minute walk with numerous traditonal English pubs and various styles of cuisine restaurants.
Public buses run throughout the Lake District.
