Neighbourhood
We are located on the heights of Liège in a friendly area.
Our neighbours are quiet and the only louder noise you will hear when you are outside is the ambulances driving behind the park behind the house. The Citadel Hospital is quite close.
But we hear the birds singing every day. :)
A short walk down the main street will take you to the top of the famous Bueren Steps (374 steps) that will lead you into the city center.
You can also get to the city center very easily with buses just around the corner from the house.
From Calatrava train station, you can take a train to Brussels, Bruges, Paris, Amsterdam, Cologne or even London. Liège really does look like the centre of Europe. The region is actually also called "the three borders" being half an hour from the Netherlands and Germany. It is also surrounded by beautiful nature just a stone's throw from the Ardennes.
Getting Around
Liège is a beautiful city to discover on foot.
Buses go to the city center just around the corner.
The city's brand new tram will breathe new life into it. We are delighted with that.
