Must like cats. Ours are indoors only, very friendly, and love people and kids. Our historic home was built in 1900 and recently renovated with modern amenities like mini-split heat pumps, gas fireplace stoves, home basement gym, modern kitchen, four person infrared sauna, and high end baths.
We are committed to living as nontoxic as possible. We use organic towels, sheets, pillows, and mattresses. Our home, body and laundry cleaning supplies are all eco-friendly and synthetic fragrance free. We have a whole house water filter and reverse osmosis kitchen tap filter as well.
The Space
We have four bedrooms. The master suite has two full size beds (believe me, you sleep so much better in our own bed). Our kid’s room has one full size bed. The upstairs bedrooms are a queen in one and a king in the other. We have three full baths and one half bath. The only tub is in the third floor bathroom. We have two smart TV’s in the basement. Guests have access to our Netflix and Amazon Prime accounts, but no cable or satellite TV.
We have two lovely indoor cats that only require feeding. We have someone that will come to change their litter, located in the basement inside an enclosure that blocks any odor. This person can also feed them if you decide to do an overnight somewhere, leave early or arrive late. The cats are not allowed in bedrooms, so no hair on beds.
Guest Access
Our home is on four levels from basement to third floor, with all bedrooms on the second and third floors. The only TV's are in the basement.
Notes
This home is not available very often as it's our primary residence. See our other listings in Maine that have more regular availability in my profile.
No Globes for this home please. We are a little obsessed with cleanliness and organization. We ask our guests to not to move furniture around and leave the home as they found it. We will have it professionally cleaned before and after your stay and charge a cleaning fee of $275 USD.
We ask guests not to use any perfume, sprays or other body or cleaning products that will leave any residue or smell on bedding or furniture.
We are highly chemical and fragrance sensitive and require all guests to use only cleaning supplies provided and not spray perfumes or use any other body products with fragrance that will linger on sheets or furniture. We provide cleaning products, hand and body soap and shampoo and conditioner for you.
We do not allow our cats outdoors or in the bedrooms.
We ask that shoes are left at the door and not worn inside the home.
Guests are welcome to use the sauna. However it draws a lot of electricity and we ask a small reimbursement for electrical use if used more than a couple times.

We are an active family of three. We work in real estate sales and development in Portland, Maine, USA and exchange two properties in Portland and one in midcoast Maine. We prefer to live like locals when we travel, immersing ourselves in the culture of the places we visit. We are multi sport athletes and enjoy outdoor activities in any season. We are very conscientious guests and hosts. We keep our homes clean and organized and like to exchange with people that do so as well. We are long time home exchangers on another platform with over 50 exchanges and five star reviews.
