This unit occupies the bottom of a two-unit apartment building. The 2nd unit is above. It sits on a quiet residential street on Portland's trendy East End. Modern style and amenities, master suite with heated bath floors, in-unit laundry, hardwood floors, cable TV, efficient heat/AC, well appointed kitchen, two decks, and one off-street parking space. Beds are soft and made up with organic sheets and pillow covers. Non-toxic bath and cleaning supplies provided. Air purifiers in living rooms. No pets allowed. Note that the bedrooms are on three different levels and stairs are steep.
Guests enter into the first floor kitchen, dining area. There is a table with six chairs. The kitchen is well stocked with everything you need. There are non-toxic, non-stick pans and stainless steel pots. There is a Vitamix blender, coffee maker, french press, microwave, water filter, and toaster oven.
From the kitchen, guests enter the first floor living room with TV. Off this room is a full bathroom with walk-in shower and heated floors, a small laundry closet, and the first floor queen bedroom.
The first floor king bedroom has a door, desk, closet, dresser, and two windows with darkening shades which let in lots of light when open. It's on the street side, but it's very quiet at night. The bed is soft with organic sheets.
Open the barn door at the top of the stairs on the second floor and walk into the spacious master suite with memory foam king bed, organic sheets, closet, dresser, and its own bathroom with walk-in shower and heated floors. The room has darkening shades as well. There is a door that leads to the second floor deck at the top of the stairs. Note that these stairs are quite steep.
Downstairs is a semi-finished, basement where you'll find a TV room with some workout gear including yoga mat and a TRX. Off this room is a small bedroom with a queen bed and dresser. This bedroom has a darkening shade on the window. Note, this is a basement. The floor is painted concrete and walls have spray foam insulation but no do not have sheetrock on them. The bedroom has a heater to keep it cozy in winter months. There is no built in AC downstairs, but it stays cool even in hot weather and we add a window AC unit for the summer months. The stairs are steep.
We have an infant Guava Lotus Travel crib with organic bedding, and a toddler size Shrunks inflatable mattress for kiddos. Note: We do not have baby gates.
The 1st floor deck at the entrance has seating for 2-3 people and the 2nd floor deck has room to lay out a yoga mat and a table that cozily seats four. You can see the ocean, city skyline, and even a lighthouse from this second floor deck.

We are an active family of three. We work in real estate sales and development in Portland, Maine, USA and exchange two properties in Portland and one in midcoast Maine. We prefer to live like locals when we travel, immersing ourselves in the culture of the places we visit. We are multi sport athletes and enjoy outdoor activities in any season. We are very conscientious guests and hosts. We keep our homes clean and organized and like to exchange with people that do so as well. We are long time home exchangers on another platform with over 50 exchanges and five star reviews.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
