General Overview
Have a globe or pluto to offer? Casa Caleta is an off the grid home in the community of. Calovebora on the remote Caribbean Coast of Panama. Until the new road was built four years ago, Calovebora was only accessible by boat. Prior to that time Calovebora was a typical Panamanian fishing village. The area is beginning to see more tourists but is still an authentic experience for travelers looking for an adventure.
The Space
Casa Caleta is about a 100 meters from the ocean. The house is best suited to two people., but there is a trundle bed to accommodate another couple. The house has a spacious bedroom with a king size bed. The bathroom has a shower and a flushing toilet. No hot water but you will appreciate a cool shower. Calovebora is always hot and humid. The trundle bed in the living room doubles as a sofa. The kitchen is well equipped and has a stove and oven. Power to the house is through four solar panels which power lights and refrigeration.
All windows and doors have screens. Fans are in every room.
There is a large porch where we spend time in hammocks and eat meals. A separate rancho is a wonderful place to watch the waves roll onto the beach and feel the sea breeze.
There is an outdoor shower at the back of the house. Clothing can be washed by hand in the double sink and hung on the clothesline to dry.
Guest Access
This is not a property if you have mobility issues. To arrive at the house you need to cross a small river and walk a short distance to the house. Usually it is no problems to wade across the river , but in case of heavy rain our caretaker will bring a small boat to fetch you.
Notes
We have WiFi through Starlink and a small television for streaming video. The house is totally private and is situated along the small river. Lots of coconut palms provide unlimited pipas for enjoying on a hot day.
