General overview
Our home is surrounded by two acres of forest about 3 miles from the quaint village of Northport, MI. Beautiful beaches are minutes away. The metal building was my husband's boat building shop for years until we decided to turn half of it into living quarters. We think it's pretty charming and comfortable.
The space
Our home is approximately 1500 square feel. There is a wonderful screened porch with a trundle bed for summer sleeping. Inside are two bedrooms and one bath. We designed an pen floor plan with 12 foot ceilings. A heat pump provides air conditioning on hot days and heat during the winter months. A small Jotel propane stove in the living room takes the chill off. A perennial garden with mostly native species surrounds the house. There is an outdoor shower which everyone enjoys.
Guest access
The house is handicapped accessible. The main bedroom does have four steps. Our home can comfortably sleep four to six people using the outdoor sleeping porch. We also have a glampsite,, with a king size bed, tucked into the forest on the property. It's pretty nice to get the "up north" camping feel without leaving home!
Notes
Our home in Northport is only available betweeen May-September as the house is closed up for during the Michigan winter.

John and I have been home exchanging for over 15years and love this way of traveling. We've lost count but I think we've done over 100 exchanges all over the world. We're adventurous people who look for places off the beaten path. But we enjoy cities and are open to just about anywhere. Sometimes we travel with another couple or our adult children.
