General Overview

Duplex apartment, 45 m², on the 2nd floor, without elevator. Cosy, carefully decorated apartment with mezzanine. Family use (no rental...) Lots of kitchen utensils if you want to make yourself "small dishes". Fondue sets. 1 bedroom on the ground floor, 1 bedroom upstairs. Balcony overlooking nature (but road ahead). Quite steep staircase. Children's sled. Snowshoes available. Maps and documentation available North-east orientation. Parking space on the residence

Leisure building, also occupied by year-round people. No constraints in general for arrival and departure times.

Notes

For shopping: bakery also providing groceries, farm with organic products 3 days a week. Excellent butcher's shop in Habère-Lullin (5km), so you can go a week without a car! Other nearby resorts (20 mins): Saint Jean d'Aulps connected to the Chèvrerie (Domaine les Portes du Soleil). Praz de Lys Sommans (45 mins) Ski school. Possibility to go skiing on foot, or, as this winter 2023/2024 or go to Hirmentaz, a quarter of an hour away by car. Numerous hiking trails from Habère-Poche. Summer activities within a 10 km radius: Children's summer activities: mountain biking, archery, orienteering, biathlon, disc golf, sailing on Lake Geneva, discovery trail, playgrounds, pumptrack, go-kart driven by a musher, pony, horse, donkey rides, etc. Summer activities for adults: pumptrack, grass scooter, paragliding, tandem flight, chairlift for mountain bikes, fishing, canyoning, rafting, swimming pool... Supermarket, sports equipment rental, library, restaurants, local cheese dairy, bakery, butchers (5 km), organic farm (Habere-Poche), plant and garden workshop, café run by an association... Located 30 minutes from Evian, 45 minutes from Morzine, 1 hour 15 minutes from Châtel, 45 minutes from Praz de Lys Sommans, 1 hour from Geneva, 1 hour from Chamonix (86 km). Very friendly and family atmosphere away from the hustle and bustle of the big resorts and reasonable ski passes. Documentation, maps and walks are available for visits and walking. Superb walks in summer, spring, autumn. On the photos: example of a walk from Mont Forchat, which dominates the Vallée Verte where the village of Habère-Poche is located: you can see Mont-Blanc, Lake Geneva and even the Jet d'Eau de Genève!

Neighbourhood

You will certainly appreciate this family resort in the middle of the mountains where it is possible to do many activities without taking your car. As far as snow is concerned, be careful: we are at 1,000 meters, Hirmentaz culminates at 1,600 meters, so snow is not guaranteed. In case of good cold, there are snow cannons. Possibility to get on the snow groomers. In summer, and in winter if there is no snow, a chairlift open for mountain bike transport, mountain bike trail. Please read the last paragraph of our profile before contacting us. Possibility of cleaning on request (80€) Wifi with paid subscription with the tourist office 7€/day, 39€/week. As far as animals are concerned, we accept them on the condition that they stay on the ground floor, do not climb on beds, sofas, or carpets and do not disturb the neighbours, and as a matter of principle if you also accept animals. Inside the apartment, quite steep staircase. Possibility to put gates at the top and bottom for children, on request.

Getting to my home

Good news: possibility to come by public transport from Annemasse (bus 3 times a day) and also Thonon-les-Bains. (Bus line Habère-Poche-Bellevaux-Thonon Y03)

Denise

Denise and Marc (71 and 73 years old): we are retired and love to travel.
