General Overview

It's a vintage house, from the 60s, that we renovated. We reused a lot of elements that we already had as much as possible.  
We try to banish plastic. We like the decoration. We stay there often, even in winter, because Port-Louis is a lively village. 
So there is all the comfort for the whole year.

The Space

On the ground floor: kitchen, living room, veranda where we have our meals, toilet, bathroom (to rinse off when we get back from the beach: shower), garage (too small for a car, but suitable for a motorbike).  
We have a courtyard with flowers, pallets to set up a cozy lounge in the summer) and the BBQ. 

On the first floor: 3 bedrooms and a bathroom, (shower), toilet and dressing room. 
(a bedroom with a 140x190 bed, a bedroom with a 140x190 bed, a children's bedroom with 3 90x190 beds)

Under the roof: a large room with large poufs and reading corner. 
Beach toys, beach tent, etc...

Events and festivals several times a year. 
On foot: museums of the Navy, the East India Company, ramparts, Grande Plage and small beaches, many restaurants, starting from the house: short hikes around the city or further if you want: Lorient harbour, Petite mer de Gâvres, Gâvres, etc...

Getting to my home

Free expressways in Brittany. 
Possibility to come by train to Lorient, then water bus, arrival at the quay 10 minutes walk from the house. 
Good network of buses and water buses for the Lorient agglomeration, of which Port-Louis is a part. 
Since there is everything you need on site, you can live without a car.

Nearest airport

Nantes airport (1 hour), Rennes (1 hour 3 minutes), Brest (2 hours)

Getting Around

Main street 3 minutes walk away: bakery, butcher, supermarket, pharmacy, fishmonger, craft shops, etc: open all year round. 
Superb market on Saturday mornings and markets every day in the neighboring towns. 
Pontdicherry media library 10 minutes walk away: map available. 

Supermarkets 5 minutes away by car (or bus) or 10 minutes away (Leclerc: incredible tide department, very cheap!). 
Organic farm 7 minutes by car or bike. 
Possibility to move around the bay of Lorient for the price of a bus ticket...

Denise and Marc (71 and 73 years old): we are retired and love to travel. We have carried out more than 100 exchanges since 2001, on another site that has evolved, and want to refocus on traditional exchanges.
