Neighbourhood

This area in the borders is famous for mountain biking and you will find lots of trails on our doorstep but also the famous glenstress forest just 10 mins bus or car drive along the road. Just steps from our caravan there us the river tweed with a walking cycling path. Horses grazing either side on the rolling hills. The village of innerleithen itself has a supermarket and few cafes and restaurants 5 mins walk away all in the high street. Also you will find a few thrift shops here and hairdressers. Massage rieki health centre is situated just off the main street. You can also book a spa day at the nearby 5 star hotels with swimming pools and saunas. Heading back up from the borders your next tourist town is Peebles with lots of interesting gift shops and a famous chocolate shop. Heading more into the borders you have the next larger town one way and Galashiels, Melrose abd Selkirk. All these places can be reached by the X62 bus that loops back up to Edinburgh bus station. Famous attractions near by to our caravan include... The oldest inhabited house in Scotland.. Traquir house https://www.traquair.co.uk/ With lovely large estate grounds. A maze is on the grounds which is great fun for children. (I can give you a tip to complete this first in your family but that be cheating I guess :) Great bus service taking you all around the borders region and also back up to Edinburgh. This bus takes bikes also. Go ape tree zip line course 10 mins away in glentress forest https://goape.co.uk/locations/glentress-forest Sitting just outside peebles there is neidpath castle beautiful surroundings sitting right on the river tweed. https://www.celticcastles.com/castles/neidpath-castle/ https://www.celticcastles.com/castles/neidpath-castle/ 30 mins drive by car or the bus service will take you to Melrose where you can visit abbotsford house, the home of Sir Walter Scott. https://www.scottsabbotsford.com/ You will pass Rosslyn Chapel n 40mins on the road heading back up to Edinburgh. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rosslyn_Chapel
