General overview
The short: 3 bedroom (4 beds), 3.5 bath + outdoor shower, bonus family room with 65in flat screen tv (another in the principal bedroom), separate office with separate entrance, air conditioning throughout home, private saltwater pool in backyard that backs up to the natural forest complete with natural waterfalls in the green season. High speed fiber optic internet (300mbs) and WiFi throughout home. Perfect location: minutes from the new Flamingo Marina and the top rated beaches in Costa Rica (Playa Flamingo, Playa Conchal, and many others). **We do feed a sweet cat that has adopted our home and comes by everyday to be fed (and loved on if you feel inclined). Our housekeeper will feed her when she comes but we would appreciate it if exchangers could give her some food and water when she makes an appearance.

Welcome to Casita Escondida, your secluded sanctuary nestled amidst Costa Rica’s verdant dry forest landscape. This luxurious retreat offers the perfect blend of privacy, relaxation, and indulgence, providing a tranquil haven from the heat and hustle of everyday life.
As you enter Casita Escondida, you’ll immediately be enveloped by a sense of calm and serenity. Surrounded by lush foliage and the soothing sounds of nature, this secluded oasis feels like your own private paradise. Enjoy the regular visits from the native wildlife in the area : deer, coatis, silver foxes, hummingbirds, mot-mot, and numerous other tropical birds. Occasionally you might even catch a howler monkey in our trees!

Guest access
2 floors, many stairs so unfortunately not suitable for those with mobility issues nor suitable for very young children. There are not any barriers from the patio doors to the pool so we prefer to accept only kids aged 5+ and must be able to swim.
Notes
We do include the services of our housekeeper for exchanges (when possible) as well as for the end of exchange cleaning. Please note- due to the open layout of our deck/pool- all children must be supervised at all times in and around the pool, patios, all decks, and within the home due to open stairs. There is no fence around the pool. Absolutely no smoking/vaping permitted on property and no pets.

Neighbourhood
Our neighborhood has hiking trails (panoramic views of the entire area at the top), an onsite top rated restaurant with amazing sunset views, a swim up bar, and infinity pool. The new onsite Club Eldorado is now open and included 8 pickleball courts, tennis courts, and ocean view gym and yoga pavilion, and exercise classes. Day, week, and monthly passes available.
Getting to my home
The best way is by car or shuttle from the Liberia airport (approx. 45min-1 hour away). You will prefer to have a car to fully enjoy the area as there are no Ubers, Lifts, etc. A SUV is preferred (for road clearance) but a 4X4 is not necessary unless you are planning to be well off the beaten path. The roads are completely paved from the airport to our home. The San Jose airport is also a possibility but keep in mind that it is a 4-5 hour drive away.

Getting around
A car is necessary to fully enjoy Guanacaste. There are no reliable ride sharing options (Uber/Lyft, etc) currently available in the area. I would recommend a SUV for ground clearance but a 4X4 is only necessary if you are planning on traveling to remote beaches, hiking trails, etc. The rainy season can be unpredictable so plan accordingly. Our immediate area is 95% paved roads and is completely paved from the Liberia airport to our home. Private tour companies/transport is readily available as well.

We are a family of four US citizens who have made a new home in Costa Rica since 2019. Elizabeth, a former spa owner, and Dave, a corporate attorney able to work remotely, and our two pre-teen/teen children (one piano player/swimmer and one junior lifeguard).
