General overview

2021 Northstar Northstar Hardside Laredo SC truck camper. This is a slide in truck camper that sits in the back of our 2021 Dodge Ram 2500 four wheel drive truck.

The space

The truck camper has a Wet Bath (shower in same area as toilet) with a cassette toilet and a queen sized Cabover Bed. The kitchen area has a refrigerator, 3 burner stove, sink, and Microwave. This truck camper is perfect for two people. The camper is set up for perfect off-grid living with a 45 gallon fresh water tank, a propane heater and two overhead fans. There are 320 watts of solar panels on the roof and an inverter so you have plenty of power. Plenty of storage and a dinette areas for dining and remote working. We love that the camper is somewhat compact (as compared to other RV’s) and has 4 wheel drive so we can go just about anywhere we would like with ease. We belong to an organization called Harvest Hosts - a collection of farms, breweries, golf courses and wineries where with a small purchase you are welcome to stay overnight. Since we are set up for off grid camping we have found this a perfect way to travel around the north-east USA. The camper is currently at our home in Brewster, Massachusetts but is sometimes located at our home in New Jersey depending upon where we have most recently used it.

Notes

We would only be comfortable exchanging this camper with someone who has previous RV/truck driving experience. At almost 11 feet tall and sitting on a 2500 truck it does require a bit of experience to maneuver.

Jerry and I (Jen) are both attorneys. Jerry works in a private firm handling various civil matters and I am employed as a Child Advocate. We have three older children who will travel with us on occasion. Generally, however, it will just be the two of us. If an exchange is local we prefer to travel with our well-behaved, non-shedding, never on the furniture doodle although if the circumstances don't allow him to join us we can arrange for him to stay with family or friends. Over the past 20 plus years we have had over 50 successful home exchanges (France, Ireland (3x), Spain, Costa Rica (2x), Arizona, West Virginia, Seattle, British Columbia (3X), Florida (4x), Martinique, Iceland, California (3x), Morocco, South Africa ... just to name a few). and are looking forward to the opportunity to arrange our next exchange soon. We have thoroughly enjoyed all of our past exchanges and are adventurous and resourceful travelers. We are always seeking our next exchange! We can always be tempted by unique and interesting locations! Please note that we prefer to travel during the fall, winter and spring as we enjoy spending our summer months at our home on Cape Cod.
