Neighbourhood
Our neighborhood is quiet and safe, kids can play freely in the front/back yard. We have 4 playgrounds within walking distance, splash park, skatepark, ice rink. In a 5km min radius you can find the Marina beach and playground (local festivals take place there), apples and pumpkins picking, petting farm, many more playgrounds, cycling and walking paths, sunset at the beach, ice cream, grocery stores, restaurants, library, etc.
We are located a short 20 min drive to downtown Ottawa with a dozen museums and arts gallery, interesting for all ages. You can also explore Parliament hill, the unique architecture of downtown, historical sites, indoor playgrounds, indoor wave pools, trampoline parks, Byward Market, Rideau River and the delicious dining experiences and bakeries available all around.
For nature lovers, the entrance to Gatineau Park is less than 10 minutes away with endless activities to do every seasons: Hiking trails, swimming at lakes, kayak/canoe, paddle boarding, snowshoeing, cross-country ski, snowboard, ski and skating.
I have some equipment you can borrow. Gatineau Park is the 2nd most visited park in Canada, it's beautiful every season but Fall known as the "Color festival" with all the leaves changing colors.
Each seasons brings unique activities:
Fall is beautiful for the leaves turning colors, fruit picking, picnics, animal watching, Spooky activities, corn mazes.
Winter for all the winter sports and activities and the warm hot chocolate or coffee with patisseries afterwards. There are endless indoor playgrounds, indoor pools, museums, arts gallery and cultural activities for colder days.
Spring is magical maple syrup, visiting a sugar shack, nature walks and nature slowly waking up!
Summer for the beautiful lakes, beaches, hikes, outdoor dining, waterparks, playground, splash parks and festivals.
It's also a short drive to many interesting destination:
Montreal (2h), Mont Tremblant (2h), Kingston (2h), Quebec City (4h45), Toronto (5h), Niagara Falls (6h)
Visit the USA for a day trip: Alexandria Bay - Bolt Castle (2h15) and Watertown (2h30)
Nearest airport
Ottawa international airport (35-40 min), Montreal Pierre-Elliot Trudeau international airport (2h)
Getting around
Within 5-10 minutes drive you will find anything you need including activities, groceries, restaurants, beach, walking and biking trails, etc. Public transport is accessible but not very convenient to really enjoy Gatineau/Ottawa and surroundings fully. Within walking distance you will find a coffee shop, pizza place, gas station, pharmacy, playground and splash park.
