Close to Watkins Glen, Ithaca and Corning. Colleges, museums, wine, racing and waterfalls. Endless hiking and cross country skiing.

The space
The Wine Mountain Retreat was reimagined and thoughtfully refurbished in a modern Scandi-Barn design in 2023. The site and dwelling are inspired by the very popular EcoBarn destination vacation rental the owner’s first Finger Lakes venture. Natural light and stunning views of the surrounding countryside are highlighted. The location is private but less than 3 miles to Seneca Lake and Watkins Glen.
Wake up to the sound of birds chirping and feeling connected to nature. Take a walk to the pick your own farm and bakery, 2 vineyards or to the Burdett Mercantile. Relax on one 3 decks to take in the view, gaze at the stars or experience the frequent killer sunsets. Sip your way around Seneca Lake enjoying some of the best wineries and breweries that help make our region is famous. Is golf a passion? Our acreage adjoins Wine Mountain Golf Range, bring your clubs and get a bucket of balls. Soak your cares away in our free standing soaking tub in one of our 2 new full baths or be really adventurous and have an outdoor bubble bath in our “Hilllbilly Hot Tub”, a vintage claw foot tub with a hot water hose. Gather
around the fire pit and savor the moment.
The home features:
3 bedrooms, one with a king bed, one with a queen and one with 2 twins.
All the bedrooms have smart TV, with many streaming options including Hulu live. There are also 2 other smart TVs in common areas.
2 new full baths. The master bath has a freestanding soaking tub, spacious shower area with a rain shower head and hand held. The water pressure is excellent.
Large well stocked kitchen with island seating for 5, with open concept dining area seating 4-6. Kitchen features a large refrigerator with filtered water and ice machine, Bosch dishwasher, microwave, gas range, drip coffee maker and toaster.
The dining area has glass doors that open to a screened in deck, for dining al fresco with a south west view.
Adjacent the kitchen there is a simple laundry area and back door entry.
Adjacent the kitchen is also a sun room that’s glass door opens to a deck over looking the backyard and western sky.
The home also features a large living area and separate but not private office area.
A game closet is filled with games and entertainment items.

Notes
Ours is a great area to visit. It's about half way between New York City and Niagara Falls.

Just off of Main Street in Burdett down and private dirt road. Adjoins Wine Mountain Golf Range, Walkable to a pick your own farm with baked goods and 2 vineyards. Rural village perched above Seneca Lake. Less than 5 minute drive to Seneca Lake and Watkins Glen

Getting around
You should have a car to get around. The features of Burdett Village are walkable. Parking in most of our region is free and plentiful. The exception would be paid parking at Watkins Glen State Park, Clute Park and the cities of Corning and Ithaca.
Getting to my home
Closet airport is Elmira followed by Ithaca. Larger international airports are in Syracuse and Rochester. You will need a car there is no public transportation

We are interested in exchanges of just a few days with in 300miles from mid October - December 2023
We are interested in longer term exchanges of several weeks to a month or more in the southern, south western USA and any other areas with warm or mild winters.
Can be places like Puerto Rico, Costa Rica, Yucatan Peninsula, US Virgin Islands, Panama. We are always interested in Europe. We are always open to almost anywhere in the US for 2024. We are a retired couple with a small very well behaved non shedding dog. Our dog can stay with our children if she doesn't come with us but we do allow a dog at our homes. We are adventurous, non smoking, quiet and clean. We use our homes as vacation rentals and we feel very comfortable with exchanges.
