General overview

Cool penthouse with two terraces on different levels with 360 degree views over Berlin. It is located in the extremely cosmopolitan district of Neukölln, in the best area for food, bars and culture in Berlin. We are mainly looking for longterm exchanges, minimum 12 months, but are open to suggestions on where. Having said that we are at the moment looking specifically for a Bali exchange from March 2025 until December 2025.

The space

The house was built in 1912, but our roof top was constructed by us in 2016. The center in this unique apartment is one huge room with a top-modern kitchen with all equipment, living area, dining area and library. Windows covers a big part of the south side and it is all dominated by a huge half round window measuring 3x4 meters. Due to the construction of the roof top it is a nice oasis even though it is situated on a street full of bars and restaurants. At the same level as the big room there is an 27 sqm L-shaped terrace facing the back yard and shaded by a big tree. From here there is a stair leading up the real gem of this apartment – a 40 sqm roof top terrace with a garden and outdoor kitchen. The vision You get over Berlin is an unobstructed 360 degree view. Total living area 185 square meters (1990 square feet) , 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms. The master bedroom is 35 sqm and have it´s own integrated bath room with a separate toilet. There is a big french balcony and a kingsize double bed. There is also a direct exit to the lower terrace. The kid bedroom has a big cupola window in the ceiling. Sleeps two . The third bedroom can also be used as a combined home office/guest room that comfortably sleeps two persons. That was how we used it. The main bathroom have both a shower and a bathtub. There is also a washing machine and a dry tumbler in a separate room.

Guest access

We are in the attic on the 5th floor and since this is a historic Berliner building there is no elevator. The exercise going up the stairs comes as a bonus and once you open the door it will be worth every step.

Notes

Only longterm exchanges.

Neighbourhood

The apartment is right in the middle of one of the liveliest areas of Berlin, the so called KreuzKölln. It is the border zone between hip Kreuzberg and upcoming Neukölln. The block where we live is oozing with bars, restaurants and cool small shops and every week something new is opening up. It is also a very multicultural area where You will meet people from all walks of life. Despite this our street is relatively quiet since it is small and traffic therefore very limited. If You come by car yourself it is easy to find free parking in the area. Around the corner from us is the small, but nice, park om Reuterplatz. A few minutes walk is Hermannplatz with two subways going different directions. Three blocks away You find the water in the form of Landwehrkanal and here the Turkish market comes on Tuesdays and Fridays.

Getting to my home

Buy a ticket to Berlin, land on the new airport, take a taxi and 20 minutes later you can step out on the roof terrace to admire Berlin.

Nearest airport

Berlin Brandenburg Airport is 20 minutes with taxi. There is also excellent public transport and this takes around 50 minutes.

Getting around

There is excellent public transport both buses and subway around the corner. All you need when it comes to shopping is just down the stairs.
