Every morning we wake up to the sound of birds telling us it's time to enjoy the day. If it's really early, we get to see the most beautiful sunrise by taking a quick 5 minute walk to the beach at the end of the street.
Breakfast in the garden is not boring no matter the weather. Just a short walk and the beach is there for long walks, swimming and finding a great coffee or juice.
Out home has great walkability to the town area where there are places to eat, stores for supplies and tours to be booked out to the Southern Great Barrier Reef.
The Greyhound coach will bring you to Agnes Water but the best idea is to have a vehicle to potter around and visit other places nearby.
Over the summer months there are plenty of water based recreational activities and winters are mild, perfect for hiking the various trails.
Life moves at a gentle pace which is good for the soul to stop and rest for a while.
The Space
We have created a garden oasis which enables privacy to relax outside. Inside the newly renovated villa is spacious for a couple with a simple modern kitchen for any meals you wish to cook.
There is the ability to bbq outside where the evening ocean breezes provide relief after a warm day.
We appreciate a minimal inviting environment that suits a beach holiday.
Guest Access
The property is on a level block with no stairs at the entry or inside the property. Access is through a metal gate which is lockable. There is also a secure place to park a vehicle or street parking is directly in front of the property.
A lock box has key access.
Notes
Our house book in the villa will have information on where to eat, what to do and everything you may want to know.

Neighbourhood
The neighbourhood is quiet and friendly and you may even be invited to a neighbours home for a drink of an evening. Walking in the evening or during the day is completely safe. The beach is only about 400m away from the house so you will definitely feel the breezes and hear the ocean in the evening.
Getting to my home
Driving from Brisbane, is easy on the Bruce Highway, then travelling through Bundaberg towards Rosedale and Agnes Water.
The Greyhound bus comes to Agnes Water regularly and the train station at MiriamVale is only 40mins away.
There are regional airports in Bundaberg and Gladstone but a hire car would be required to get to Agnes Water.
If you are arriving in Brisbane, you may wish to stay at our home before heading up to Agnes Water.
Nearest airport
Bundaberg and Gladstone airports both approximately 120km away

People Like Us Local Guide
If we are in town, we can recommend and possibly take you to some of the walking trails a little farther from our home. If you enjoy a morning coffee then we can direct you to the best spots. We have been known to invite guests upstairs to enjoy a devonshire tea on the upstairs deck.

Christina
Hello from a couple of Aussie adventurers - Ian and Christina McKay.
Apart from living in one of the most scenic locations in Australia, we spend our time working with indigenous farmers in Mindanao Philippines raising dairy goats and creating superb soft goat cheeses. That is a satisfying retirement past time but we do enjoy having adventures and visiting new places and meeting new people.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.
