Neighbourhood
A quiet beach, there are a handful of other baches in the area, but apart from that the beach is usually fairly unoccupied. It's a great surfcasting beach, and excellent for finding paua shells and other beach treasures. It is not a safe kid friendly swimming beach. But Mangamaunu Point is a known surfing treasure.
Less than 10 minutes up the coast is the Ohau point seal colony.
Nearest airport
2.5-3 hours to Christchurch Airport
1.5 hours to Blenheim Airport
