Neighbourhood
Our house is located in a recently developed area. A park is on our doorstep. Since many young families live in this neighborhood, there are plenty of playgrounds for children within walking distance. Some of the marked hiking trails start at our house. In the rest of the Veluwe, 700+ km of signposted hiking trails are waiting for you. Explore them by bike or on foot.
The city of Apeldoorn is famous for a couple of things:
1. The Royal Palace called Het Loo. It is a former palace now acting as a museum, recently renovated and known for its gardens which are a Versailles look alike. Truely worth a day visit. And when you exchange with us you have access to all our inside knowledge of this place.

2. The primate zoo called Apenheul
A zoo fully dedicated to primates and other monkeys. Very fun and educational.
Worth a day visit. Only a 25 minute bike ride from our place.

3. The countless hiking and biking possibilities ( about 700+km of it). Some trails start near our front door. We will share our favorites with you.
4. The famous Kröller Möller museum is a 30 minute drive. Known for its large collections of Van Goghs and it superb sculpture garden.

People Like Us Local Guide
I will be happy to be your guide and give you information about local gemstones. If desired, we can meet for a drink. I always enjoy meeting other PLU members. I know a lot about Apeldoorn and the surrounding area, but I have lived in different parts of the Netherlands. So just ask.
