General Overview
Large and modest apartment of 100 m² on the ground floor of a house with another apartment upstairs, surrounded by family. We are on a private road.
The Space
You enter the kitchen which is open to the living room. This room overlooks the 3 bedrooms.
The master bedroom has a 160x200 memory foam mattress. (There is a sofa bed that converts to a double bed in this master bedroom if required).
We have a small children's room with a double bed 140x200. And another large bedroom with a double bed 160x200.
Further on, you will find a large bathroom with a large bathtub and shower. The toilet is separate.
The apartment is surrounded by a beautiful terrace and a mini garden.
I'm sorry but I removed the jacuzzi because we didn't use it anymore.
It's our main residence so our whole life is there. You will therefore have sheets and towels available. If you have forgotten things and need warm clothes or beach towels for example, I don't mind if you use them.
There is wifi and a smart TV. You will have access to Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ and Canal+ via the box.
Guest Access
The apartment is on the ground floor. You can park right in front of the gate. But there is a small step to get through the front door.
Notes
We don't have air conditioning but the apartment remains quite cool compared to the outside temperature. We have mosquito nets on all the windows, which allows a draught without being attacked by mosquitoes.
I'm allergic to dust so I try to limit knick-knacks, curtains, etc. as much as possible.
Cats are very independent and do their business outside. They have a cat flap to enter and exit as they please. You can feed them once every 2 or 3 days using a kibble dispenser. During the summer, they are almost always outside.
In winter, they are in the living room or on shelves at the end of the hallway.
And I'm sorry but my cats don't agree with the presence of dogs.

Neighbourhood
These are several private houses (many of which belong to members of my family) on a private road, away from the city.
On the 1st floor of the apartment, my grandmother and my uncle live.
We are, by car, 5 minutes from the beaches, 10 minutes from the beautiful city of Menton, 10 minutes from the Principality of Monaco, 40 minutes from the big city of Nice, 15 minutes from the pleasant city of Ventimiglia in Italy where a large market well known to the region takes place every Friday morning. We are also 1 hour and 45 minutes from the ski resorts. Closer you will have the opportunity to take beautiful walks in the mountains.
The climate is very pleasant all year round. In summer, we take advantage of the sea air so as not to suffer too much from the heat wave (except in recent years on certain days between June and August with climate change). The climate has been summery until the end of October for several years.
Getting to my home
A car is recommended, unless you are not afraid to walk 30 minutes uphill (very steep at the end) or wait for a bus that passes on the private road every 1h30 during the day.
There is always space to park in front of the house.
Nearest airport
Nice International Airport (NCE): 40 minutes by car. Or 1 hour with tram + train.
Getting Around
The apartment is a 5 minute drive to the city/beach/train station or a 15 minute walk, but the climb is quite steep.
From the station, you will have very regular trains to Monaco, Nice, Cannes, Ventimiglia, etc.
For the last 50 meters before arriving at the house, it is a small private road with a steep slope. A car is recommended. Unless walking doesn't scare you.
I can lend you a car (small Skoda Fabia, manual gearbox).

Our stay in France was very successful, we really liked the house and spent a pleasant holiday there. It was a great base for trips to other places, cities, and towns. Everything was absolutely fine. For a few days during our stay, Melody and her family were with us, and I would rate the contact as very, very positive 😊 -
Thank you to Melody for providing such a wonderful home in the most beautiful location- we had a perfect experience. Prior to our trip Melody sent information that was very useful in planning our itinerary, including map with all the must see/do’s and where to eat. This was so helpful and made planning o our end so easy, which with our two young children made planning very hassle free and easy. We arrived to a home that was clean and organized, everything was easy to find and ready for our stay. My girls spent time on the trampoline every day- this was a big bonus for them! We loved the outdoor area, lounging, trying to soak up all the sun before heading out for the day! The cats were amazing, we’d never cared for before and were very excited to have 4 cats on this trip! They kept us entertained each morning and evening when we’d look for them. So easy to care for as they basically cared for themselves (but we tried to give them lots of attention)! The area is just fantastic, even in February. We enjoyed visiting so many beautiful towns, beaches, and festivals and would recommend this time to others. Thank you to Melody for this trip! -
Very successful exchange! Very good communication with Mélody, before and during the exchange. Her house, functional and comfortable, is well located (despite not being easy to access). We visited Menton, magnificent, beautiful villages nearby (old Roquebrune, Eze, Gorbio, Saint Jean Cap Ferrat...), Nice, we took beautiful walks along the water and it is very close to Italy. Mélody gives lots of explanations to facilitate the stay. Thank you for accepting our proposal and lending us your house! -
We spent four wonderful days at Melody's with a couple of friends. From the beginning, communication with her was smooth and pleasant. Upon our arrival, Melody welcomed us warmly and took the time to show us around her lovely apartment before letting us enjoy the place. The apartment is spacious and well located (with a very nice view from the terrace). We were even surprised to find a raclette machine (thanks to Melody who showed us where it was stored!), perfect for a friendly evening after a long day of driving. The region is absolutely beautiful! We particularly enjoyed discovering Roquebrune, and thanks to the ideal location of the apartment, we were also able to explore Monaco and Nice. All four of us loved our stay and hope to have the chance to exchange with Melody again. -
Melody's home is situated in a beautiful part of the world. Our family absolutely loved exploring the French Riviera while we were there. The city of Menton near by is just beautiful We had the chance to explore Nice, Antibes, St. Tropez and Monaco all in one week. It was impressive. The home is a very comfortable size for 4 people. There is an office int he parental bedroom which I did some work at very comfortably. The outdoor terrace is absolutely lovely although we didn't spend too much time on it as we were there in the height of July heat and it was a bit much for us. One thing to note is that Melody's car is a manual so if you are hoping to exchange cars be sure you can drive a manual. We sadly were not skilled in that department so we needed to rent a car which I think is essential to be able to enjoy the area the best. Without kids you could get around with the bus and walking most likely. The kitchen was great to prepare meal in and lots of space to eat inside or outside. Her father across the road was an incredible help to us during our trip and we can't thank him enough for tips he gave us. Communicating with Melody while we were in her home was also very smooth. Thank you for opening our eyes to your absolutely beautiful home Melody! -
Mélody is a very welcome person. It was out first exchange and everything went smooth. The house is very well located with all equipments.. There is a little gardenwith a sea view... We had a Wonder full time. -
Mélody's home is really lovely, in a beautiful place, and with an amazing view. The house is spacious and had everything we needed. Mélody had prepared everything very thoughtfully. Our visit was in November, but we enjoyed eating lunch outside on the terrace. Summer visitors would find the space outside invaluable (and not at all usual in Riviera properties) with a trampoline and parasols. We couldn't believe that we were within walking distance of a famous garden, and also of the beaches and shops. Possibly in summer the walk, all uphill! would be too hot, but in autumn temperatures we very much enjoyed being able to explore on foot. Mélody left such a lot of useful up to date information about the area, and also organised assistance for us as we arrived and departed, which was very very helpful and much appreciated -
We had a wonderful stay at Melody’s. Sun most of the week, nice trips to the beach and hikes along the coast, day trip to Italy and several hilltop cities. Menton is just next door and also a nice visit. Melody's home was comfortable and extremely quiet. There is everything you need (groceries, bread etc) in the town down the hill. There is even a great play area for kids (Koalaland) - where we happened to see Prince Albert de Monaco with his kids (!). We liked the company of her cats (especially the one that slept with our daughter Oliane). Communication was easy with Melody, and everything went smoothly for our stay. In short, we would highly recommend a stay at Melody’s home in sunny Roquebrune-Cap-Martin ! -
A stay at Melody's was fantastic. Firstly, the communication was great. I really enjoyed our communication exchange before we went and everything was very thoughtful and easy. Her place is amazing, so quite and beautiful. The road up to the house was a little challenging at first but that is the whole French Riviera, not just her place. By the end of the exchange we were driving those roads like a local! The 4 cats were very easy, fun to watch, they did not like to come and interact much (except in the mornings when they wanted food) but watching them and getting to know each cats personality was lovely. The area is pretty special. It was really busy because it was August but at her place it was so quiet that you really were far from being in the busy French Riviera, it was the perfect combination of liveliness in town and peacefulness at her place. The beaches were fun to swim at. I am not used to pebble beaches so it took me a bit to get used to but the water was so lovely that I soon forgot about the lack of sand. Melody gave great recommendations and was very thoughtful about the places to go and restaurants to eat at. We had some pre teens with us so didn't get to try some of the restaurants (as they were a bit sulky and I didn't feel like being at a restaurant with them!) but the ones we did try were great. She also recommended villages and beaches to visit and where to park etc. All the things that made the stay easier. I would highly recommend an exchange with Melody. Hopefully I can make her stay in Amsterdam as fun as our was with her. -
The apartment is large, spacious and very comfortable. It is perfectly equipped and absolutely nothing was missing! The bathroom is really super big and perfect for returning from the beach. Ideally located for visiting the entire Cote d'Azur (Nice, Monaco, Villefranche ... and of course Menton) and shopping in Italy in San Remo and Ventimiglia. The terrace is very pleasant, especially for children with the trampoline and the jacuzzi. Thank you Melody for this exchange -
Melody's home had everything our family needed, plus 4 lovely cats who were really easy to maintein. The views from the house are gorgeous and the location is perfect for exploring east Cote d'Azur (Menton, Monte Carlo, Nica, Antibes, Cannes, Grasse...). We had a great week having a simultaneous exchange with Melody and her family. The comunication was very friendly from the beginning and the exchange was perfect. Thank you, Melody! -
