General overview
Large and modest 100 m² apartment on the ground floor of a house with another apartment upstairs, surrounded by family. We are on a private road.
The space
You enter the kitchen which is open to the living room. This room overlooks the 3 bedrooms.
The master bedroom has a 160x200 memory foam mattress. (There is a sofa that converts into a double bed in this master bedroom if needed).
We have a small children's bedroom with a 140x200 double bed. And another large bedroom with a 160x200 double bed.
Further you will find a large bathroom with a large bathtub and a shower. The toilets are separate.
The apartment is surrounded by a beautiful terrace (with jacuzzi) and a mini garden.
It's our main residence so our whole life is there. You will therefore have sheets and towels. If you forgot things and need warm clothes or beach towels for example, I don't mind if you use them.
There is wifi and a connected TV. You will have access to Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ and Canal+ via the box.
*The living room sofa can also make a bed for 2 if necessary. (It's cozy but light comes in through the glass front door and the kitchen window)
Guest access
The apartment is on the ground floor. You can park right in front of the gate. But there is a small step to get through the front door.
Notes
We don't have air conditioning but the apartment remains quite cool compared to the outside temperature. We have mosquito nets on all windows, which allows a draft without being attacked by mosquitoes.
I am very allergic to dust so I try to limit trinkets, curtains, etc. as much as possible.
Cats are very independent and do their business outside. They have a cat flap so they can come in and out as they please. You can feed them just once every 2 or 3 days using a kibble dispenser. During the summer they are almost always outside.
In winter, they are in the living room or on shelves at the end of the hallway. We don't allow them into the rooms because I'm allergic (yes lol!).

Neighbourhood
These are several private houses (several of which belong to members of my family) on a private road, away from town.
On the 1st floor of the apartment, my grandmother and my uncle live. So you can also get advice and help from them.
We are, by car, 5 minutes from the beaches, 10 minutes from the superb town of Menton, 10 minutes from the Principality of Monaco, 40 minutes from the large city of Nice, 15 minutes from the pleasant town of Ventimiglia in Italy where a large market well known in the region takes place every Friday morning. We are also 1h45 from the ski resorts. Closer, you will have the opportunity to take beautiful walks in the mountains.
The climate is very pleasant all year round. In summer, we take advantage of the sea air so as not to suffer too much from the heatwave (except in recent years on certain days between June and August with climate change). The climate has been summery until the end of October for several years.
Getting to my home
A car is recommended, unless you don't mind walking 30 minutes up a steep climb or waiting for a bus which passes on the private road every 1.5 hours during the day.
Nearest airport
Nice, 40 minutes by car. Or 1 hour with tram + train.
Getting around
The apartment is a 5 minute drive to town/beach/train station or a 15 minute walk, but the climb is quite steep.
From the station, you will have very regular trains to Monaco, Nice, Cannes, Ventimiglia, etc.
The small private road to access the house is quite steep. A car is recommended. Unless walking doesn't scare you.
We can also exchange our car (small Skoda) if we travel without it.

Mélody's home is really lovely, in a beautiful place, and with an amazing view. The house is spacious and had everything we needed. Mélody had prepared everything very thoughtfully. Our visit was in November, but we enjoyed eating lunch outside on the terrace. Summer visitors would find the space outside invaluable (and not at all usual in Riviera properties) with a trampoline and parasols. We couldn't believe that we were within walking distance of a famous garden, and also of the beaches and shops. Possibly in summer the walk, all uphill! would be too hot, but in autumn temperatures we very much enjoyed being able to explore on foot. Mélody left such a lot of useful up to date information about the area, and also organised assistance for us as we arrived and departed, which was very very helpful and much appreciated
We had a wonderful stay at Melody’s. Sun most of the week, nice trips to the beach and hikes along the coast, day trip to Italy and several hilltop cities. Menton is just next door and also a nice visit.
Melody's home was comfortable and extremely quiet. There is everything you need (groceries, bread etc) in the town down the hill. There is even a great play area for kids (Koalaland) - where we happened to see Prince Albert de Monaco with his kids (!).
We liked the company of her cats (especially the one that slept with our daughter Oliane). Communication was easy with Melody, and everything went smoothly for our stay.
In short, we would highly recommend a stay at Melody’s home in sunny Roquebrune-Cap-Martin !
A stay at Melody's was fantastic. Firstly, the communication was great. I really enjoyed our communication exchange before we went and everything was very thoughtful and easy.
Her place is amazing, so quite and beautiful. The road up to the house was a little challenging at first but that is the whole French Riviera, not just her place. By the end of the exchange we were driving those roads like a local!
The 4 cats were very easy, fun to watch, they did not like to come and interact much (except in the mornings when they wanted food) but watching them and getting to know each cats personality was lovely.
The area is pretty special. It was really busy because it was August but at her place it was so quiet that you really were far from being in the busy French Riviera, it was the perfect combination of liveliness in town and peacefulness at her place. The beaches were fun to swim at. I am not used to pebble beaches so it took me a bit to get used to but the water was so lovely that I soon forgot about the lack of sand.
Melody gave great recommendations and was very thoughtful about the places to go and restaurants to eat at. We had some pre teens with us so didn't get to try some of the restaurants (as they were a bit sulky and I didn't feel like being at a restaurant with them!) but the ones we did try were great. She also recommended villages and beaches to visit and where to park etc. All the things that made the stay easier.
I would highly recommend an exchange with Melody. Hopefully I can make her stay in Amsterdam as fun as our was with her.
The apartment is large, spacious and very comfortable. It is perfectly equipped and absolutely nothing was missing! The bathroom is really super big and perfect for returning from the beach.
Ideally located for visiting the entire Cote d'Azur (Nice, Monaco, Villefranche ... and of course Menton) and shopping in Italy in San Remo and Ventimiglia. The terrace is very pleasant, especially for children with the trampoline and the jacuzzi.
Thank you Melody for this exchange
Melody's home had everything our family needed, plus 4 lovely cats who were really easy to maintein. The views from the house are gorgeous and the location is perfect for exploring east Cote d'Azur (Menton, Monte Carlo, Nica, Antibes, Cannes, Grasse...). We had a great week having a simultaneous exchange with Melody and her family. The comunication was very friendly from the beginning and the exchange was perfect. Thank you, Melody!
very good exchange!
We were able to discover the Cote d'Azur as a family in the best conditions.
The apartment is very spacious and well appointed. Everything you need for a great vacation is available. We were welcomed by the family who is very available.
Appreciable also the garden with a view of the sea and the tranquility far from the noise of the crowded seaside resorts!
Thank you Melody for giving us this opportunity!
Mélody and family looked after our home really well and were good enough to strip the beds the day they left. I really wish we had been able to meet but we've text a lot and will stay in touch I hope. I can't wait to visit Mélody's home in future and am glad I could offer you a base to visit Belfast.
We were delighted to meet Mélody and her children on our return to our house. Everything was perfectly looked after. All the communication before and during the exchange was prompt and helpful, and we already knew we would find real life meeting and communication very pleasant, and so it was. We hope maybe we will exchange again or meet again.
Melody and her teens were lovely guests. Our communication was open and at times humorous. They left the studio nice and clean. I would thoroughly recommend them as guests!
We finally got to meet Melody and Stephane. We stayed at Melody's place last summer and they came to Amsterdam just this past long weekend. It was so great to meet them. They are interesting, fun, kind, like minded people and they took amazing care of our home. We came home a bit early so we could meet them and I felt completely at ease with them in our house. Very respectful people. I would recommend them anytime.
Mélody and her children were very respectful. The house was in perfect condition. Thank you for this high quality reciprocal exchange.
Melody and her famiyl took great care of our home and our two cats. They left the apartment in perfect condition. Thank you!
The house was tidy and cleaned perfectly.
A very pretty house in a quiet neighborhood not far from downtown by car. Jeanine had everything ready and waiting for us. There was every comfort in the house, the temperature was just right and we slept well... Nothing to complain about ! Many thanks again !
A truly magnificent home! All the comforts, and more, are there. The house is really modern and very bright thanks to all the windows. The bedding is excellent. The neighborhood is very pretty and quiet.
We were even able to swap cars, which was very much appreciated.
From Linde and James's house, you can discover lots of very beautiful landscapes and monuments or gardens, not even 1 hour away by car.
Communication was perfect throughout. We even shared a dinner and a night with Linde and James, who were very friendly and helpful.
We highly recommend these hosts !
Our house and car were returned in perfect condition. Our cats clearly enjoyed their guests. Thank you again for everything and for the gifts !
The studio is quite simple, but everything you need is there and the mattresses are good. But most of all, there's a stunning view from the studio and the area is very beautiful ! Les 2 Alpes is just in front (30 min by car) and a lot of things to do there.
José was super kind and the communication was super easy so I recommend without any doubt.
Thanks for letting us discover this region !
Even though I haven’t met Melody and her teens personally, I already feel I know them a little. Our communication was quite humorous at times. The apartment was left very clean and tidy and I would thoroughly recommend exchanging with her
We were able to meet when they arrived at our home. Hannah and Cedric were super friendly. The communication went very well and the house was made nickel chrome, with beautiful flowers and more! We recommend these travelers.
Great communication with Sarah before and while they were in my house.
Everything was perfect and tidy when we get home. They took great care of our cats.
We recommend this family without any doubt !
Really great house! All the comfort and the necessary is there. Very spacious. Beautiful swimming pool which allows you to cool off very pleasantly.
The place is central to radiate in the Landes. Do not be afraid to use the car, but beautiful beaches are 30 minutes away.
Julie and Nicolas took care of the house and the cats perfectly. Nothing was broken, damaged or soiled. Really, it was a perfect exchange. Very easy communication in case of questions. No complaints !
A very nice house with everything you need for a very comfortable stay. The mattresses are of very good quality, which is not negligible at all.
We have communicated very well since the exchange agreement. Communication with Suzana is very easy and pleasant.
And there are so many amazing things to see within 30/40 minutes drive from the house. A very nice stay !
We return to our house in perfect condition. Everything was in order and our cats were obviously pampered. Nothing to complain about.
Very nice chalet, in a very quiet area, near Annecy, Geneva and Chamonix.
The house has all the necessary comfort.
Ilaria is very organized to leave as much information as possible to her guests.
Children are spoiled with tons of playmobiles, outdoor games and board games.
Very nice experience for the first home exchange of my life.
Thanks again.
No complaints. We found our apartment in the same state in which we had left it (that is to say clean and tidy I specify in case, ah ah!).

I speak english. Hablo espanol. Capisco italiano (ma non parlo molto bene).
The concept of sharing, solidarity, non-monetary exchange really attracts me.
I try to do as much as possible in my personal and professional life to help people and impact the planet as little as possible (travel is where I fall short in terms of ecology).
I am a pescetarian and quite into recovery and as little consumption as possible.
I created a parenting support association and returned to study to become an Early Childhood Educator. I am now a middle school French teacher.
My children are always a little afraid of leaving all their things with other people but they agree to try. They themselves are very respectful of the material and belongings of others. And also the planet!
You can suggest any destination, I'm open to many things... if I can pay for the trip.
I am available all French school holidays (zone B).
I love the mountains in the summer and I try to limit plane trips.
We have 4 very independent cats.
*New in this site, the concept of solidarity and sharing interests me much. In my personal and professional life, I try to do everything to improve this world and help people.
I'm pescetarian, into recycling /second hand and less consumption possible.
My kids are every time a little afraid to lend their stuff but curious to try it. They are really conscientious and respectful of people and things... and of the planet too!
I love mountains during the summer. Feel free to make proposals, I'm quite open to all destinations... if I can afford the plane ticket. I'm available every French school holiday (zone B).
We have 4 very autonomous cats.

Finally we have been in a state of drought every summer in recent years, so no more swimming pool and only the jacuzzi :-(

We collected, without looking for it, 2 kittens a few months old during the summer of 2019. One of the cats became a mother and kept 2 cats, born in May 2020. I never let them enter the bedrooms.
Pookie and Pakie chose us during the summer of 2019. Their mother had abandoned them on our terrace. Pakie remains quite wild. You may not see her much during your stay. The 4 cats live their lives (and their needs) independently thanks to a cat flap.
