General overview

Large and modest 100 m² apartment on the ground floor of a house with another apartment upstairs, surrounded by family. We are on a private road.

The space

You enter the kitchen which is open to the living room. This room overlooks the 3 bedrooms. The master bedroom has a 160x200 memory foam mattress. (There is a sofa that converts into a double bed in this master bedroom if needed). We have a small children's bedroom with a 140x200 double bed. And another large bedroom with a 160x200 double bed. Further you will find a large bathroom with a large bathtub and a shower. The toilets are separate. The apartment is surrounded by a beautiful terrace (with jacuzzi) and a mini garden. It's our main residence so our whole life is there. You will therefore have sheets and towels. If you forgot things and need warm clothes or beach towels for example, I don't mind if you use them. There is wifi and a connected TV. You will have access to Prime Video, Netflix, Disney+ and Canal+ via the box. *The living room sofa can also make a bed for 2 if necessary. (It's cozy but light comes in through the glass front door and the kitchen window)

Guest access

The apartment is on the ground floor. You can park right in front of the gate. But there is a small step to get through the front door.

Notes

We don't have air conditioning but the apartment remains quite cool compared to the outside temperature. We have mosquito nets on all windows, which allows a draft without being attacked by mosquitoes. I am very allergic to dust so I try to limit trinkets, curtains, etc. as much as possible. Cats are very independent and do their business outside. They have a cat flap so they can come in and out as they please. You can feed them just once every 2 or 3 days using a kibble dispenser. During the summer they are almost always outside. In winter, they are in the living room or on shelves at the end of the hallway. We don't allow them into the rooms because I'm allergic (yes lol!).

Neighbourhood

These are several private houses (several of which belong to members of my family) on a private road, away from town. On the 1st floor of the apartment, my grandmother and my uncle live. So you can also get advice and help from them. We are, by car, 5 minutes from the beaches, 10 minutes from the superb town of Menton, 10 minutes from the Principality of Monaco, 40 minutes from the large city of Nice, 15 minutes from the pleasant town of Ventimiglia in Italy where a large market well known in the region takes place every Friday morning. We are also 1h45 from the ski resorts. Closer, you will have the opportunity to take beautiful walks in the mountains. The climate is very pleasant all year round. In summer, we take advantage of the sea air so as not to suffer too much from the heatwave (except in recent years on certain days between June and August with climate change). The climate has been summery until the end of October for several years.

Getting to my home

A car is recommended, unless you don't mind walking 30 minutes up a steep climb or waiting for a bus which passes on the private road every 1.5 hours during the day.

Nearest airport

Nice, 40 minutes by car. Or 1 hour with tram + train.

Getting around

The apartment is a 5 minute drive to town/beach/train station or a 15 minute walk, but the climb is quite steep. From the station, you will have very regular trains to Monaco, Nice, Cannes, Ventimiglia, etc. The small private road to access the house is quite steep. A car is recommended. Unless walking doesn't scare you. We can also exchange our car (small Skoda) if we travel without it.

Mélody

I speak english. Hablo espanol. Capisco italiano (ma non parlo molto bene). The concept of sharing, solidarity, non-monetary exchange really attracts me. I try to do as much as possible in my personal and professional life to help people and impact the planet as little as possible (travel is where I fall short in terms of ecology). I am a pescetarian and quite into recovery and as little consumption as possible. I created a parenting support association and returned to study to become an Early Childhood Educator. I am now a middle school French teacher. My children are always a little afraid of leaving all their things with other people but they agree to try. They themselves are very respectful of the material and belongings of others. And also the planet! You can suggest any destination, I'm open to many things... if I can pay for the trip. I am available all French school holidays (zone B). I love the mountains in the summer and I try to limit plane trips. We have 4 very independent cats. *New in this site, the concept of solidarity and sharing interests me much. In my personal and professional life, I try to do everything to improve this world and help people. I'm pescetarian, into recycling /second hand and less consumption possible. My kids are every time a little afraid to lend their stuff but curious to try it. They are really conscientious and respectful of people and things... and of the planet too! I love mountains during the summer. Feel free to make proposals, I'm quite open to all destinations... if I can afford the plane ticket. I'm available every French school holiday (zone B). We have 4 very autonomous cats.
