Newly Updated Farmstead in Northern California - close to Tahoe

Our home is a historic homestead from the 1850's. We are a multi generational farm sharing our love of family. The main house was built in 1880, added to in 1928 and has since been restored by us. We live on 15 acres and have two small guest cottages decorated with updated farmhouse style decor onsite (we rent these on airbnb -- apple hill farmstead cottage and apple hill farmstead tiny home). You will find remnants of an old pear orchard, as well as apples, figs, persimmons, cherries, plums, mulberries, grapes and various trees and flowers throughout the property. The property is bordered by a beautiful creek with natural water slides and swimming holes. Our children spend all summer in the creek. We have a large organic garden and fresh chicken eggs for your enjoyment.
The main home is 3,000sq.ft. and has 4 bedrooms and 3 baths. It can accomodate 10 comfortably and very kid friendly as we have a crib and portable crib. There is a family room, formal sitting room, office/schoolroom, dining room and playroom. There is high speed internet throughout the property and large screen tv's in most main rooms and bedrooms. The kitchen has been fully updated while keeping the historical cabinetry. We just replaced the original cooking stove with an Italian Ilve gas range (2022). We have updated to many modern conveniences while trying to honor the original craftsmanship and handiwork that created this house 100 years ago. The outdoor space is a continuous project as we have added a patio and an 8 person jacuzzi overlooking a waterfall above the creek. We also have a jungle gym and in ground trampoline for children. There is a large swing that is above the creek as well. This summer, we are working on a nature / running trail.
The two small cottages have been designed and decorated to accommodate guests from all over. There is a King bed in one as well as a Queen bed in the other (plus queen in tiny loft). They both have full kitchenettes, internet, tv, blackstone grills, hot tubs as well as they are situated right on the year round creek. They are both private and seperate across the creek from the farmhouse. Please inquire about trading entire property as we will need to block cottages on airbnb.
The main farmhouse is 2 floors and a basement. Due to the nature of the old house, there are door thresholds throughout and stairs to the bedrooms and it is not handicap accessible. We live in a quiet area, off a main county road. We do have a gate access for privacy. Very safe area with many rural farms, wineries, breweries and family activities..

Quartiere
We are located in the Apple Hill region. Very close to Lake Tahoe and about an hour from Sacramento. We are in a remote area, but you'll find many wonderful Apple Hill farms as well as wineries in our area. It is beautiful here in the Fall as many tourists come to taste various apples and treats from all the many farms. All seasons are beautiful here! We do get snow in the winter, but it is never too much to be snowed in for days. :) If you want a quiet retreat in nature and California history, then we would love to welcome you! San Francisco, the Pacific Ocean and Yosemite are all day trips!
Andare in giro
We are 10 minutes to major grocery stores and restaurants. Downtown Historic Placerville is a lovely step back in time honoring the original Gold Rush (first gold sighting) in California. You'll find the town busy with locals and tourists from all over. Enjoy a trip to the oldest Hardware store West of the Mississippi or a stagecoach ride down Main Street, Placerville. You'll find kind hospitality and friendly locals throughout the small town, as the people here are proud of this community.
Lake Tahoe is about 40 minutes East on the highway, and San Francisco is under 2 hours away (depending on traffic). We're located in the foothills, on the climb up to the Sierra Nevada mountains. Lake Tahoe is one of our favorite places on earth and it is a must see for any nature lovers!
