Sea view home in Palau, Sardinia, a few minutes from the beach Our home is a cosy apartment in Palau, in the north of Sardinia, with a beautiful view over the La Maddalena Archipelago. It is a small but very practical home, around 40 m², ideal for enjoying the sea, the landscape and the atmosphere of northern Sardinia without needing a large space. One of the things we love most is the location. The beach is only about a 4-minute walk away, while the centre of Palau can be reached in around 5 minutes on foot. Restaurants, cafés, shops, supermarkets, the harbour and everything you may need during your stay are all very close. The apartment has a small mezzanine with a double bed, which is the main sleeping area. There is also a pull-out bunk bed near the kitchen area. It can remain closed when it is not needed and can be opened when additional sleeping space is required. The sofa can also be converted into a sofa bed if necessary, so the apartment offers several sleeping arrangements. We personally think the house is particularly comfortable for a couple, but it can also work very well for a small family or a few friends. Despite its compact size, the apartment has two bathrooms, which makes it especially practical when more than two people are staying. There is also a balcony where you can sit outside, eat, have breakfast, enjoy an aperitivo or simply relax after a day at the beach. A grill is available as well. The view and the location are probably the strongest points of the house. Palau faces the La Maddalena Archipelago, one of the most beautiful areas of Sardinia, and the islands can easily be reached by ferry directly from the harbour in town. From here you can explore La Maddalena, Caprera and the surrounding islands, spend the day on the beach, rent a boat, go hiking or simply enjoy the sea and the small towns of northern Sardinia. Porto Pollo is only about 5 minutes away by car and is one of the best-known places in Italy for windsurfing, kitesurfing and wing foiling. The Costa Smeralda is also very easy to reach. Porto Cervo is approximately 20 minutes away by car, so it is possible to combine the relaxed atmosphere of Palau with day trips to some of the most famous places in Sardinia. There are also many beautiful beaches, small villages and scenic roads all around the area, so the house can be a very good base for exploring the north of the island. The apartment is not a large luxury villa, but that is also part of what makes it nice. It is a simple, comfortable seaside home in a very convenient location, with everything you really need for a relaxing stay in Sardinia. It works especially well if you enjoy spending most of the day outside, at the beach, on a boat, exploring or having dinner in town, and then coming back to a quiet and comfortable home. We really like the idea of home exchange because it feels much more personal than staying in a hotel, and we would be happy to welcome people who will treat our home with care and enjoy it as if it were their own. We are also happy to share suggestions about beaches, restaurants, boat trips, places to visit and some of our favourite spots in the area.

Hi, I’m Stefano! I’m an Italian commercial director and filmmaker working in the creative and communication industry. My work has given me the opportunity to travel quite a lot, and travelling has become a very important part of my life. I love discovering places in a genuine way rather than simply visiting them as a tourist. I enjoy the sea, nature, photography, good food, local culture and finding those places that you usually discover only after spending some real time somewhere. I often travel on my own, but from time to time I also travel with my brother, who works in our family business producing wine in northern Italy. We are both easy-going, respectful and responsible people. When staying in someone else’s home, we take great care of it and treat it exactly as we would want someone to treat ours. I really appreciate the sense of trust behind home exchange, and I think that is one of the nicest aspects of this way of travelling. Because of my work, I sometimes have quite a flexible schedule, so I’m open to both planned exchanges and more spontaneous opportunities. I’m particularly interested in discovering beautiful places around Europe and the rest of the world, whether that means spending time by the ocean, exploring a city, being surrounded by nature or simply experiencing everyday life somewhere completely different from home. For me, travelling is mostly about experiences, people and discovering a place from the inside. I’m always happy to exchange recommendations and local tips as well, and of course I’ll be happy to share everything I know about Sardinia and Italy with anyone staying at our home.
