My family and I live in Aarhus, the second biggest city of Denmark (population of 355,000), very close to the city center with shops, museums, restaurants etc but we also live close to various beaches, lakes and forests, and only 30 minutes away from huge amusement parks and wild life parks. Our house is 60 minutes away from Legoland and Lego House, and in fact Denmark is such a small country that everything seems close. Even the capital Copenhagen is also just a few hours away.

Our yellow brick house is big, yet cosy:
It has 2 levels, with 3 bedrooms upstairs and a big bathroom and common area with a big table for boardgames or puzzles or for work and a pull-out couch with a tv set and a ps4. The upstairs area also has a beautiful balcony with the view of a quiet private street.
Downstairs, you will find our second bathroom, the master bedroom, a big kitchen and a utility room and two living rooms, where one is mainly used as a dining room and the other as a home theater with a huge screen and a projector. We and the kids love that room, especially in the winter time or on rainy days. We have Netflix, HBO Max, Disney+ and more.
Outside, in our back yard, we also have an annex with a small bar and various musical instruments and a small pool table. In our back yard, we also have a trampolin, a football goal, and an outdoor ping pong table.
You will not be bored here, we promise!

The house has 2 floors and 4 bedrooms:
3 single beds and 1 double bed (sleeps 2 people). (one of single beds is bigger though and is what we call a 1,5 person bed, meaning spacious for one person but also big enough for two younger siblings)
Also, there is also a pull-out couch in the upstairs common area that sleeps 2 grownups.

You might already know about Denmark because of the famous author H.C. Andersen or because of the famous physicist Niels Bohr or because of LEGO, or because Denmark has won the title of the World's Happiest Country several years in a row. Denmark is also one of the safest and most liberal countries in the world and it is such a beautiful country that you will love immediately.

It's a big house on a quiet street in what feels like suburbia. But it's only 10 minutes away from downtown Aarhus and from beaches, lakes and forrests, which makes it so unique.
Arrivare a casa mia
Our house is 10 minutes away from the train station, if you go by car (or taxi). You can also take the bus which will take about 25 minutes.
L'aeroporto più vicino
Tirstrup Airport is nearest airport but Aalborg Airport and Billund Airport are also close by. THe easiest way is probably to fly out from/land in Kastrup Airport which is further but you can go by train from Copenhagen til Aarhus within 2 or 3 hours. And we live very close to the train station, so it will be an easy solution for you.
Andare in giro
10 minutes by car to the center of the city.
There are buses very close to our house and we also have bicycles and a car for you to use.

Siamo una famiglia danese di 5 persone: mamma, papà e 3 adolescenti.
Nostra figlia ha 18 anni e abbiamo anche due gemelli di 14. Nostra figlia se la sta vivendo quest'anno a Lansing, Michigan, come studentessa in scambio, e io, la mamma, ho anche vissuto 3 anni all'estero (in Montana, Indiana e Madrid , Spagna) quando ero più giovane e frequentavo il college.
La nostra famiglia ama viaggiare e parliamo tutti diverse lingue. Abbiamo spesso ospiti stranieri che soggiornano con noi, amici che abbiamo fatto viaggiando e vivendo all'estero.
Insegno filologia spagnola e inglese in un college locale e mio marito lavora con IT all'Università di Aarhus. I nostri figli sono appassionati di sport, arte e musica.
Abbiamo anche 2 gatti che non viaggeranno con noi ma dovranno stare a casa - con gli ospiti che soggiornano a casa nostra. I gatti non hanno bisogno di molte attenzioni, però. Bevono acqua e mangiano cibo secco da un distributore e hanno bisogno di cibo umido solo ogni 2 o 3 giorni, quindi sentiti libero di uscire di casa per qualche giorno, se necessario. I gatti hanno accesso alla porta per gatti che abbiamo installato in modo che possano entrare e uscire a loro piacimento. Entrambi i gatti sono adorabili, comunque :)
