As another member said a continent away, This is our “weekend retreat”. What Australians call a shack, New Zealanders call a bach, the Brits would call a cottage, Europeans a summer house and Americans call a cabin. Simple, but stylish living - two bedrooms, one bathroom, with fantastic water view across the lake near my neck of the woods.

This adorable log cabin has two bedrooms, a king and queen downstairs and two twin beds in the loft. It’s perfect for 2-4 people but has sleeping for six if needed. Bring your fishing rod for the lake. Four houses down is a neighborhood “water hole” pool to enjoy a swim. Pool closes after Labor Day.
As for activities, there is The Little White House in Warm Springs, Wild Safari, and the Great Wolf Lodge. For outdoor enthusiasts, hike FDR park or the legendary Pine Mountain Trail which are less than 15 minutes away. Also, white water rafting is in Columbus, about 35 minutes away. Don’t forget Callaway Gardens beach or biking, or antiquing in Pine Mountain. We have a PDF guide with details on more activities in the area.
The home has upgrades with high end appliances -electric- for cooking. If you want family time and fun in a historical location or quiet time to rest in nature, you’ve found the right place!

This home is only one hour from the center of downtown Atlanta if you are looking to see the city of the south or flying into the world’s largest airport. There are hundreds of things to do in Atlanta and this distance will not limit you if you have a rental car.
Additional amenities include fire pit, pool, grill, ground coffee maker, dishwasher, WiFi and board games. No cable but with WiFi you have access any subscription you have.

Quiet and safe with access to a summer pool and a fishing lake. Lots of trails and birds singing until night when the bats take to the air and the frogs sing at night. Stars are bright and visible. Firepit in front of the lake is ready for roasting your marshmallows!
If you want to keep it close and easy, enjoy downtown Pine Mountain for good eats and antiquing. Five minutes away is Callaway Gardens for hiking trails, exhibits, the fall and winter lights, and the lake’s beach. Just about 4 miles in the other direction is Wild Safari- feed Africa right from your car! If you’re willing to venture a bit further, the Little White House (a favorite of the late President, FDR) is in Warm Springs, GA. - about 30 min. Roosevelt State Park has horseback riding, trails, Liberty Bell pool, camping and 500+ acres of wilderness. (Bring water and bug spray). It is a about a 12 minute drive. Great Wolf Lodge Water Park is 30 min away if you want to get really active. White water rafting is in Columbus, about 40 minutes away. There are more activities than you can do in a month and even we have yet to do them all.
Also, don’t forget strawberry picking in May/June, blueberry picking June/July, and apple picking, Halloween lights and corn mazes in September/October. Callaway Christmas Lights November/December.
