General overview
What our beloved house lacks in lavishness, it makes up in location, character, comfort and coziness. Enjoy city life with a suburban feel. In the nation’s capital, only minutes to the Metro’s red line that can take you anywhere in the city, and also a short walking distance to the picturesque, quirky downtown Takoma Park, Maryland.
The space
Cluttered but clean 3 bedrooms, one bathroom, and one packed play room/office/sun room in a 100-year-old house. Large windows throughout. Hundreds of board games and books. Comfy couch that opens to a full bed in the living room. Several plants that need watering. Grape vine & cherry tree in backyard, accompanied with chairs, a table and trampoline. Cable TV with Netflix, Hulu, Disney+, and HGTV access. Friendly neighborhood, corner lot, vegetable garden.
Guest access
large front and back yard, 3 bedrooms, 1 bath on second floor. Full-sized washer and dryer in basement.
Notes
The house is strictly vegetarian. You are welcome to use our pots, pans, dishes, and all utensitls, but we request no meat (beef, pork, poultry, fish) or rennet-based cheese.

Neighbourhood
Cafe, Thai, Starbucks, pizza take-out, artisan pizza, Mexican, Gelatto, several bars, Middle Eastern, Vegetarian friendly, Post office, 3 playgrounds, CVS (convenience store/pharmacy), DC Metro (trains and busses) all within a short walk from the house. Walking distance to Red-line Metro that will take you to all the major DC attractions, including the free, award winning Smithsonian museums, the National Mall, DC zoo with panda babies, Congress, Arlington National Cemetery, Lincoln, Washington, Vietnam monuments and all that this amazing city has to offer with its vibrant, diverse and international communities.
Sidewalk lined with cherry trees, one mile from Sligo creek park with its many miles of waking and biking and of course the famous Rock Creek Park.
Getting to my home
We are minutes from the Takoma Metro station (red line), and a short drive from Interstates 495 and 95 (major highways to all 3 DC-area airports).
Nearest airport
Regan National Airport (DCA) is the closest and is metro accessible
Baltimore (BWI) is 40 minutes away
Dulles International Airport is 60 minutes away
(Dulles and BWI are accessible via public transit with bus/metro/train transfers.)
Getting around
Neighborhood is very walkable to dining and shopping. We are a short distance to the Metro (bus and trains) that will take you into the heart of DC's most interesting neighborhoods. Ride share, bike share, and scooter share are all very popular in DC.
