Neighbourhood

The house is in a quiet residential neighbourhood, only a 2 minute drive down to Lisfannon beach if you don't fancy the walk back uphill. You can walk down in about 10 mins but it takes longer on the way back up as it’s steep. 

It's only a 3 minute drive to the Marina in Fahan and the lovely Railway Tavern restaurant. It's also only a 3 min drive to the award winning wedding venue and restaurant, The Red Door. 

The town of Buncrana is only 5 minutes away with many shops, bars, cafes and restaurants. In the summer a car ferry also runs from Buncrana across the Lough to Rathmullan. A favorite cafe is Tank & Skinny’s on the beach. 

You are also only 20 minutes from Derry and the multitude of things to do there, or 25 mins from Letterkenny. From Letterkenny it's a short drive to Mount Errigal and the Gaeltacht area.

Donegal was named no 1 hidden gem by National Geographic in 2017.

We had a fantastic week in Clare and Arjen's beautiful home in Donegal. We never tired of the fantastic views and their home was so comfortable and well equipped. Our kids were similar in ages so it was like a home from home. The area is simply stunning, with fabulous golf, coast walks and of course history with Derry City being close by. We had a wonderful stay at Dorret and Thierry’s home. It was modern, spotlessly clean and comfortable. Dorret was so friendly with her communications and welcoming. We had the pleasure of spending time with Kees the cat who the kids all loved. Groningen is a wonderful city. It’s central area is enjoyable to explore. We loved the Forum building and there was a fun exhibition on when we were there. We had some lovely meals in the city also. We also enjoyed exploring the university campus that our son attends.

Aliona and Eugene’s home was comfortable, clean and spacious. It’s well equipped for kids with a huge back garden with nets and trampoline etc. Wexford is a lovely town. Curracloe beach is gorgeous. Aliona is a gracious host and very easy to communicate with.

We had a wonderful week at Paula’s place in Naples. The condo was clean, spacious and comfortable and situated right next to the neighborhood pool. We used the resort pool a couple of days also and enjoyed our time there. Naples is beautiful. The centre of Naples is about 30 mins drive from Paula’s place. My son enjoyed spotting all the cool cars on 5th avenue. We also enjoyed the Everglades and Marco island nearby.
