General overview
The ensuite studio apartment at the Oasis property is also known as a mother-in-law suite. This small indoor space and private patio are your gateway to South Florida's natural beauty.
This non-smoking, carpet-free space is well situated for one guest for longer stays and can accommodate two people for stays up to 2 weeks.
A 5-night minimum stay is required since I take special care to clean and prepare the space for your visit. This space provides privacy and all of the amenities for fun in the Sunshine State, just bring your flip-flops.
This studio apartment shares the roof and a wall with the main house but is completely separate.
There is a dedicated off-street parking space for one vehicle. Beach chairs, towels, and a cooler are provided for your beach trips.
This is old-style Florida living with a window AC. Think intimate and cozy.
The space
The 400 sq. foot villa is essentially a studio apartment that will serve you well as a home base for your Sunshine State activities.
The open living space has a queen-sized bed, wall-mounted TV so you can stream your entertainment, WIFI, two comfy chairs with a side table, and bar seating for 2 at the counter-height bar.
A sliding glass door opens to the private patio with a garden bench, bistro table, and two chairs.
The kitchenette has a butler's kitchen with a full-size refrigerator, drip coffee maker, electric skillet, 3-qt Instant Pot, toaster oven, and microwave.
Grocery items can be purchased at nearby Publix, Aldi, and Target grocery stores and a nice variety of specialty stores.
Enjoy lush landscaping on the large private patio and shared access to the garden and outdoor shower (depending on who is in residence in the main house, it might be possible to use the dock). This studio apartment has a private entrance and a full private bath.
There is a covered space with room to park your bike. Enjoy the use of the outdoor washing machine. There is a drying rack and space to hang your clothes (no clothes dryer).
There is the possibility that other guests will be in the main house during your stay. The studio is very private and completely separate from the main house.
Guest access
A locked gate gets you in to the private patio from the driveway. A back door provides keyed entry to the studio. The sliding glass door provides access to the private patio from the living space.
Single level, just a small step up into the studio.
Notes
This studio apartment is separate from the main house. The space is perfect for one person and very cozy for two people. The bathroom is down the hall, so you have visual privacy, but please note that the bathroom does not have a privacy door!
Expect some road noise, the Oasis is on a popular 30 MPH road (we are in the city limits with an excellent location, after all).
One designated parking spot. House rules: quiet time from 10 p.m.-7 a.m. No guests or parties. This villa is perfect for quiet visitors.

Neighbourhood
Location, location, location. This neighborhood in South Florida is in the Boynton Beach city limits, where you can walk to nearby shops, dining, a movie theater, and a shopping mall. With 50 homes in the waterfront neighborhood, you can enjoy nature, birds, fishing, outdoor living, and the proximity to retail and nature destinations.
A pleasant shaded walking trail is right across the street from the Oasis.
The Oasis is a tropical environment right in the city, where we listen to the rustle of palm fronds, bamboo stalks, and the call of water birds from the canal.
3 miles from the beach, the Oasis is in Palm Beach County, Florida, and is close to many desirable vacation destinations:
- 17 miles south of W. Palm Beach
- 37 miles north of Ft. Lauderdale
- 55 miles north of Miami
- 119 miles north of Key Largo
Guests to our area have enjoyed visiting Palm Beach, West Palm Beach, Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, and the Everglades. Some guests have even made day trips or overnight trips to the Florida Keys.

What you will love in the neighborhood:
Our city of Boynton Beach has a lively downtown. We are proud of our newly constructed (2020) Boynton Beach Town Square with free outdoor concerts every first Friday. As the site of the Kinetic Art exhibit, Boynton Beach has a keen interest in public art and green space.
Boynton Beach is literally blooming and growing every day, but the city still retains a nice hometown feel.
- One town north of historic Delray Beach, home of the Delray Beach Tennis Center, the winner of 3 All American City Awards, and Best Main Street in Florida.
- Close to the most popular accessible bird-watching destination in Palm Beach County: Wakodahatchee Wetlands Wildlife Refuge.

As most of Florida dictates travel by car, you need a car for an ideal stay. You can walk to several nearby grocery stores, restaurants, shopping areas, dining, movie theaters, and shopping malls. Boynton Beach is the ideal location to visit posh Palm Beach, trendy West Palm Beach, funky Lake Worth, hopping Delray Beach, and is close enough to make day trips to Ft. Bring your bicycle and park it in a covered space on the patio, there won't be room for your bike in the cozy studio apartment.

Home exchange has been a big part of my life since 2010 with consistently positive experiences on over 52 exchanges. I strive to be curious, welcoming, and flexible.
I am a nature enthusiast, boater, walker, birdwatcher, lifelong learner, and museum lover. I love to travel to our planet's beautiful destinations, most notably natural destinations, nature preserves, and national parks in the United States. I also enjoy cities and urban adventures where a car isn't required.
I am not particular about the size or extravagance of where I stay. As the child of a commercial airline pilot, I have a lifetime habit of traveling and exploring new places.
I am quiet, a good steward, and a nonsmoker. I make sure to treat your home with respect and leave it as I found it.
As a member of Freedom Boat Club, I am especially interested in traveling to destinations where I can go boating in your port of call.
Do you want to come and see Boynton Beach? I love where I live and want to share it with others.
Let me know if you are in the area. I like to meet fellow travelers.
