Neighbourhood
We live in a waterside suburb. The waterfront is only 100m or so from our front door. There are lovely walking tracks, one running along the edge of the River Derwent for about 10km both south and north, another just behind our house to the Rosny Hill Reserve. Several parks are within easy walking distance. There are many recreational and sporting clubs nearby, sailing, tennis, bowls, a public swimming pool, all within a short walk. Golf courses are everywhere in Tasmania, the are perhaps 6 within a 20 minute drive from here.
We are a 5min drive into the CBD of Hobart, a pleasant stroll if you want to walk across the Tasman Bridge !
A large shopping mall is minutes by car complete with supermarkets, the usual retail outlets, eating options and a cinema.
Hobart has a plethora of excellent restaurants the majority are within 5km of our home.
MONA, TMAG, the Theatre Royal, the Tasmanian Botanical Gardens, the TSO concert hall, Blundstone arena, Salamanca market are all easy to get to ( in fact other than MONA you can walk to them all, as you can to the MONA ferry).
Nearest airport
Hobart airport is approx 15min drive away
Getting around
We have a bus stop at the bottom of the road. There are more frequent services from a stop five minutes walk away. It is 3 stops into the GPO.

Dear Jan and Paul
What a delight staying in your beautiful home has been with the stunning views of the city, river and Tasman bridge from various vantage points in your home.
Your beds are comfortable , the kitchen is fully equipped and we really appreciated being able to do our laundry.
We used the ferry service just down the road at Bellerive on several occasions to pop into the city for the Salamanca markets, museum, art gallery, restaurants, drinks at the Grand Chancellor hotel and the list goes on.
We did numerous day trips which were all lovely ,a particular highlight being The wall in the wilderness.
Thank you for all your excellent communication prior to and during our stay.
The hamper of local produce left for us to enjoy was vey much appreciated.
Once again thank you for the privilege of sharing your lovely home.
Cheers
Jo and John.
Jan and Paul's beautiful house welcomed us on our first exchange in Tasmania and it couldn't have been a better start. Their house is very comfortable, well equiped with everything you need and we were spoilt with some Tassie treats left for us.We really enjoyed our morning coffee and afternoon aperitif in their two terraces with great views of the bay.
From their house we visited Freycinet natural park, Bicheno, Richmond and other beautiful places on the east coast of the island. We also enjoyed some walks near their place.
Jan and Paul are fantastic hosts and we highly recommend them.Thank you both so much for your generous hospitality.
Jan is a great host. Although we couldn't meet in person, she made sure that we feel welcome. The house is cozy and super clean and the views are incredible.
Thanks to Jan, our trip to Tasmania was absolutely wonderful.
We enjoyed two fabulous weeks at Jan and Paul's lovely home in Rosny. It was just perfect for exploring Hobart and surrounds. We purchased a Greencard (for travelling on puiblc transport) and had several trips to/from the city by either bus or ferry (limited service). We also enjoyed the many lovely walks in the area. Don't miss out on the view from Rosny Lookout. The home was beautifully clean and tidy and Jan had left space in the fridge, and various cupboards to store out bits and pieces. We only used the downstairs area which was perfect for a couple. The bed was very comfortable and the ensuite was well appointed with a separate toilet just up the hall. The kitchen had everything we needed with ample fridge space. The laundry and drying area was great. There were two front balconies with stunning views where we were able to sit and enjoy morning coffee or an afternoon drink - warmed by the afternoon sun, superb and very relaxing. We were able to park our car to the side of the garage which was great but be aware that the driveway is steep - it did not bother us. Thanks for sharing your lovely home.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Rosny. A beautiful home with lovely views and very close to the centre of Hobart. We enjoyed the walk over The Tasman Bridge several times.
Jan and Paul were fantastic hosts. We wish them all the best and look forward to them visiting Hoi An in the future.
Jan and Paul keep their lovely home impeccably clean and organized. It was one of the best equipped homes we’ve exchanged with, and their welcome gift was amazing with fine tastes of Tasmania. Their suggestions were plentiful and welcomed.
The view from the house of the bridge and across the bay was fabulous. And there is a nice walking trail nearby. Hobart is fun to explore (especially the MONA), and we enjoyed our scenic drive to the south.
Many thanks to Jan and Paul for our delightful visit!
Karen & Victor
It's been a great pleasure for us to host Jan and Paul in our apartment in Barcelona in September 2023. We had a very pleasant and easy communication before and during the exchange and I had the pleasure of welcome them in Barcelona.
They looked after the apartment during their stay, leaving the place thoroughly cleaned . We strongly recommend them as guests.
Thank you so much for your gifts and see you next year in Tasmania!!
Jo, John and their sister Janet stayed at our place for a globe in April.
Jo was really easy to communicate with and responded quickly.
We arrived home today to a beautifully clean home.
Unfortunately we didn't get to meet them but from our experience we can't recommend them highly enough.
We hope that they get to experience many more successful exchanges through PLU.
Thanks Jan for that great feedback.
Cheers
Jo.
Several months after we enjoyed our stay at Felisa and Carlos gorgeous apartment in Barcelona we were able to welcome them to our home.
Felisa is a great communicator, very responsive and extremely helpful. Felisa and Carlos followed two other exchangers and were the last in our home before we returned. We arrived home to a clean home. What a delight after a long flight. They are great guests and we highly recommend them.
Anca was a great guest. Easy to communicate with and left our home as clean as she found it.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend her.
Unfortunately we did not get to meet but maybe someday, somewhere.
We had a great time at Felisa and Carlos home in Sant Andreau. Felisa is kind and generous and she is a great communicator.
Their home is a fabulous apartment in a suburb of Barcelona that has a fabulous community feel. It has heaps of restaurants and shops and is literally minutes from the metro which is very frequent and takes you to the centre of Barcelona in no time. There are several bus routes that pass through the area too and the train station is also an easy walk from the apartment. It was easy to go straight to the airport from Sant Andreu Comtal station.
The apartment was beautifully clean, is well equipped with everything you need and we were spoilt with a variety of local goodies left for us to introduce us to the local cuisine . It is perfect for a couple. It gives an opportunity to experience life as a resident in a normal residential area of the city.
We loved it and we were sad to leave.
We look forward to welcoming Felisa and Carlos to our home in the new year.
David and Liz spent a couple of weeks in our home. Liz was very thorough in our pre arrival discussions. David and Liz left our home in good condition and were kind enough to water our veggie garden and pots whilst here. We hope they embrace house swapping as they were good guests.
David, Tan and Mia were great guests. Very easy to communicate with and quick to reply. They looked after our home and left it clean and tidy. We wouldn't hesitate to recommend them as excgangers.
Victor and Karen were model exchangers. Easy and efficient to communicate with and they left our home beautifully clean. We wouldn't hesitate to have them exchange again.
