General overview
At 1600 metres altitude this resort has quite a long ski season, but what we love about it is that we can enjoy it just as much in the summer months. Hiking is amazing and quite pleasant as it doesn't get quite as hot as on the coast. Many people also come here to cycle in the mountains both on and off road. The ski field is connected to the expansive Grand Domaine of Alpe d'Huez, which boasts the longest black run in The Alps!
The space
Small is beautiful - well the view is big but the studio is 'cosy'! The two children sleep on bunk beds just inside the front door to the apartment, which is off a quiet internal hallway. The bathroom, with full length bath, is off this room, as is the toilet. The parents sleep on a solid, convertible, alpine couch, with the second bed rolling out from underneath at night. The picture still shows the old clic clac but that is now gone. The kitchen is beside the dining table and very compact but perfectly functional, although there are a few good family restaurants in our resort, as well as more fine dining over in Alpe d'Huez. We ahev a ski/boot locker downstairs where we store our gear and then have internal access to our second floor studio via a carpeted staircase.
Guest access
Second floor via a staircase. Cars are parked straight outside the building. It is possible to arrive in Grenoble by train and take a shuttle bus service up to Auris en Oisans - quite a good idea (especially in winter) as cars are hardly needed when skiing. You would need a car to get to the hikes in Parc des Ecrins but not for local hikes.
Notes
This resort is ideal for families with young children who want to introduce them to the snow in a friendly environment. There are activities that cater to the little ones during the school holidays. Teenagers enjoy heading across the river to Alpe d'Huez for skiing as well as other activities.
We provide a portable cot for babies.

Getting around
There is a small supermarket in the village square as well as ski shops, one fashion shop, a newsagent/tabac, some bars and restaurants. These are all easily accessible on foot. At the bottom of the hill - approx 30 minutes drive - you will find a big supermarket, petrol station, more restaurants etc.
