General Overview
Our home is a traditional two-bedroom cottage nestled in a small hamlet, surrounded by nature and bordering a forest reserve.
With deer wandering across the lawn and beavers inhabiting the stream at the bottom of the garden, it is a peaceful and much-loved escape where you can truly unwind and reconnect with nature.
The beautiful spa town of Marienbad (Mariánské Lázně) is just a 15-minute drive away.
The Space
The cottage is set over two floors. Downstairs, you'll find a bathroom with a large bath, a fully equipped kitchen, and a living area with a sofa bed and a wood burner.
Upstairs, there are two cosy bedrooms. The first features a double bed and access to a balcony overlooking the front of the property. The second bedroom, separated by a door, offers a comfortable king-size bed and an additional single bed suitable for a child.
At the back of the property, a large elevated deck overlooks the forest and stream, providing the perfect setting for BBQs, outdoor dining, and relaxing with family and friends.
Guest Access
Please note that the staircase leading to the bedrooms is quite steep and may be challenging for guests with reduced mobility.

Neighbourhood
Our cottage may feel like it's tucked away in the middle of nowhere, but you'll be surprised by how many wonderful places there are to explore nearby. Whether you're looking for history, nature, swimming, or scenic walks, there's something for everyone within a short drive—or even on foot.
Marienbad (Mariánské Lázně)- 15 minutes
This beautiful spa town is well worth a visit. Wander through its elegant streets, admire the stunning architecture, relax in the manicured parks, and watch the famous Singing Fountain. Marienbad is renowned for its healing mineral springs, with more than 100 natural springs to discover and taste.
Lido Natural Swimming Pool – 13 minutes
A favourite summer spot for locals and visitors alike, Lido is a beautiful natural lake surrounded by forest. Spend the day relaxing on the sandy beach or spacious grassy areas, then enjoy a cold beer, hot dog, or other treats from the lakeside kiosk.
If you're feeling more active, you can hire rowing boats or pedal boats, play beach volleyball or table tennis, or simply enjoy a swim. Younger guests will love the playground, swings, slides, and ride-on toys.
Kynžvart Chateau – 8 minutes (or around a 1-hour walk)
One of our favourite places to visit, this elegant Classicist chateau was once home to the Metternich family. Guided tours take you through beautifully furnished Empire-style rooms, historic portraits, the impressive armoury, and the fascinating Cabinet of Curiosities, which houses over 4,000 exhibits collected from around the world.
Even if you don't visit the interior, the extensive English-style park is a destination in itself, with peaceful ponds, a Neo-Gothic chapel, sculptures, monuments, exotic trees, and lovely walking paths.
Planá Swimming Pool – 20 minutes
Perfect for families, this outdoor complex features a natural swimming pool with a large waterslide, a children's paddling pool with a smaller slide, a playground, restaurant, and volleyball courts.
Loket – 30 minutes
This picturesque medieval town sits on a rocky promontory surrounded by the Ohře River. Its magnificent 12th-century castle is one of the best-preserved fortresses in Central Europe and is well worth exploring. Stroll through the charming old town, enjoy a riverside café, and soak up the historic atmosphere.
Kladská Nature Trail – 15 minutes
This easy 2.3 km circular walk winds through the beautiful Kladská Peat Bog National Nature Reserve, with a combination of gravel paths and raised wooden boardwalks. It's suitable for all ages, including young children and pushchairs, making it a perfect family outing.
Right from the Cottage
You don't even need to get in the car to enjoy the area. There are plenty of walking and cycling routes starting directly from the cottage. Wander through the forest to the neighbouring village of Krásné, hike to the summit of Dyleň Mountain (940 m), or take a gentle stroll to the nearby natural mineral spring to sample the local water.
Whether you're after peaceful forest walks, family adventures, or exploring the rich history of West Bohemia, you'll find plenty to keep you busy during your stay.
Getting to my home
Prague Airport is 1 hour 45 minutes drive.
