General Overview

My parent's bought this holiday home in Queaux when I was a little girl myself and to have my own baby there for the first time this year has been very special and encouraged me to join People Like Us so that other families can make memories there too. There is no travel cot at the property so please ensure you are equipped if travelling with little ones. The house is old and rough around the edges. There's no WiFi and the TV only really works for DVDs. It's the perfect escape from busy life and screens. All there is to think about is what you want to do that day and what you want to eat! The house needs work, but it's still a beautiful space with lots to offer, be that for a couple looking for a romantic getaway, a group of friends wanting to connect, a solo traveller wanting to disconnect or a young family with children.

The Space

There is a double bed and a double sofa bed, 1 bathroom with a shower and a kitchen and living room. There is a large garden opposite the property with beautiful tree top views. Please note the decking in the garden is not currently in use as it is unsafe and needs replacing. You are welcome to use anything in the property - bedding, towels, beach inflatables, body boards, hammocks etc. We do not live there so please let us know if you would like us to arrange a cleaner to prepare the property for your arrival.

Guest Access

2 steps down into the property at the front door 6 steps up into the garden

Neighbourhood

A short walk from the property is Camping du Renard, a riverside campsite that is full of life throughout July and August. There's a children's pool, play area, beach, a bar and live music every Friday! We strongly recommend a swim in the river, it's beautiful! Outside of these months, the area is peaceful and tranquil and you can still access the beach and river for a relaxing swim. A car is strongly advised as there's no public transport to the village. Nearby Lussac and L'Isle-Jordain offer supermarkets, tabacs, restaurants, bakeries and much more. There's lots of towns and villages you can explore and I'd be more than happy to make suggestions depending what you're looking for.

Getting to my home

A car is recommended so either drive yourself (we used to take the ferry alot when we were children) or fly and hire a car

Nearest airport

Poitiers or Limoges

Getting Around

Shannon

We're Shannon, Kane and Sunny and we are very excited to be newbies in this wonderful community. When we travel, we always prefer to live like locals as much as possible and find the simple beauties wherever we are, so to be able to swap homes with people around the world feels like a perfect fit for our little family! We are currently looking for a short break in Europe from 14th - 18th July to celebrate Kane's 30th birthday! We would ideally love somewhere with access to a pool to keep little Sunny cool. We currently live in a one bed flat in Bristol, which we love, but as we intend to grow our family we are also looking for longer term arrangements for somewhere with a bit more space that is commutable (within an hour's drive) to Bristol. If you are interested in either of our listed properties, we would love to hear from you and organise our first exchange!
