Welcome to our 'home-away-from home' called Heidehus: a Swedish bungalow in the heart of Drenthe, The Netherlands. An oasis of peace, surrounded by nature.

The Space

This lovely home features underfloor heating, a cosy living room with a gas fireplace, and a fully equipped kitchen with all modern conveniences. The house has two bedrooms: one with a large double bed and one with two single box-spring beds.

The bathroom includes a rainfall shower, toilet and washbasin. A staircase leads to the attic, where you will find a two-person infrared sauna.

Internet, television and Netflix are available. There are terraces at both the front and back of the house, with a table and chairs, a lounge set and a hammock. The enclosed garden offers plenty of privacy. There are two adult bikes available.

From the house, you can walk straight into nature within 50 metres. Heidehus is located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in the small-scale holiday park.

Neighbourhood

Nature and surroundings
Drenthe is home to three national parks: Drentsche Aa National Park, Drents-Friese Wold National Park and Dwingelderveld National Park. From Heidehus, you can walk into the woods and onto the heathland of Terhorsterzand within just a few dozen metres. This nature reserve borders Dwingelderveld and is an ideal place for walkers, cyclists, mountain bikers, runners and trail runners.

Drenthe is known for its sheep grazing on the heathlands. You can visit these sheep flocks, for example in Exloo or at Balloërveld. Dwingelderveld National Park, with its extensive forests, heathland and fens, is also close by.

From 1 May to 1 October, you can make free use of the heated swimming pool at the neighbouring campsite. You can also enjoy a bite to eat or a drink there.

Getting Around

Daily groceries can be bought in Beilen, approximately five kilometres away. For a day of shopping, towns such as Hoogeveen, Assen and Emmen are nearby.
