General Overview

My home is a comfortable five‑bedroom Victorian family house, offering flexible and versatile accommodation. It’s ideally located within easy walking distance of village amenities and public transport. The house is well placed for exploring South Wales, with Cardiff’s vibrant city centre close by, along with beautiful heritage‑coast beaches and coastal paths. The Bannau Brycheiniog National Park is also easily accessible, offering breathtaking scenery, hidden valleys and plenty of opportunities for outdoor adventure.

The Space

On the ground floor you will find a good sized and well equipped kitchen with a small dining table (ideal for 4, extending to six, but it's a bit of a squeeze). The back door leads to a courtyard, with outdoor furniture and access to a small gas barbecue. There are two reception rooms on this floor, both set up as sitting rooms. The one at the front contains a console table which can be extended to accommodate up to ten people (you'll need to push the armchairs back a bit, and I only have limited chairs - when we all dine together as a family, I bring in extra chairs from the garden). There is also a sofa bed in this room. Stairs lead up to the middle floor, here you will find 3 double bedrooms, a family bathroom and an office. Bedroom 1 has an en suite shower room and a standard double bed. Bedroom 2 has a standard double bed and bedroom 3 has a king size bed. The office is well suited for remote working and also contains a single daybed. The top floor contains two bedrooms set into the eaves. One has a standard double bed and the other a single. The top landing is furnished as a small sitting room, with two two-seater sofas and a television. The half landing contains a small kitchenette with fridge and freezer, two burner electric hob, cupboards, small sink and washing machine. There is also a shower room on this floor.

Guest Access

The village is busy and the house is on the main road through the village. Set back from the road, there is a driveway with room for up to 3 cars. I recommend reversing in and driving out, but this can be tricky with the traffic. Free parking is available at the nearby rugby club, if you prefer. The house is set over three floors and there are a lot of stairs.

Hello! I’m an experienced home exchanger who genuinely enjoys the people‑to‑people side of swapping homes as much as the travel itself. I’m retired, a widow, and have three grown‑up children who are now happily independent, which gives me the time and flexibility to travel often. I’ve completed over 45 home exchanges so far and continue to find it a wonderfully rewarding way to travel thoughtfully, live like a local, and meet like‑minded people along the way. I love discovering new places, good food (both cooking and eating it!), and making the most of everyday life wherever I am. I’m also an avid tennis player, and always enjoy finding a local court when I’m away. I exchange my homes for a mix of short breaks and longer stays, and I particularly value exchanges where both sides feel relaxed, comfortable, and well communicated with. Trust, kindness, and a shared sense of responsibility really matter to me. My homes are comfortable, practical family homes. Set up for real life; somewhere you can unpack, settle in, and feel at home whether you’re staying for a long weekend or several weeks. Working especially well for families, with a sensible layout, and everything you need for everyday living. Children are very welcome, and I’m open to longer stays by arrangement, particularly outside peak periods. I’m not precious about my homes, but I do care about them, and I really appreciate guests who treat them with the same care and respect they would their own home. I’m fairly open‑minded about destinations and enjoy a variety of trips, from short breaks to longer exchanges. Above all, I’m looking for exchanges built on mutual trust, clear communication, and a shared enjoyment of the home‑exchange way of travelling. If you think we might be a good fit, I’d love to hear from you.
