General Overview
This enchanting studio casita combines artistic character with modern comfort. The space features a dramatic rainforest mural with ancient Mayan stelae covering one wall. Large windows frame views of the lush garden and fruit trees, flooding the space with natural light.
Despite its intimate size, this studio offers everything you need for a comfortable stay: independence, privacy, and direct access to the sprawling tropical garden. It's the perfect hideaway for couples, solo travelers, or small families seeking an authentic Panajachel experience in a one-of-a-kind space.
Additional Perks: A gazebo for relaxation or al fresco dining, and optional use of the hot tub fed by a volcanic spring (by arrangement and for an additional $10/filling).
Charming Companions: The property is home to three wonderful dogs who will make your stay even more delightful.
Accommodation Details Our property features two separate houses:
• Main House: Two bedrooms (see separate listing)
• Guest House: Smaller accommodation with its own kitchen
The house manual has a lot of extra information and can be emailed before arrival.
The Space
The upstairs sleeping area includes one bed and some floor mattresses for flexible sleeping arrangements (sleeps 2 children). Downstairs, you'll find a fully equipped private kitchen, a cozy fireplace for cool evenings, a beautiful bathroom, and a ping pong table for entertainment.

Meet the Canine Companions:
While living in Panajachel, we fell in love with three incredible dogs who now call this property home. With the overpopulation of street dogs here, finding adopters is nearly impossible, and we couldn’t bear to leave them to fend for themselves. These lovable and loyal dogs are part of the property’s charm and come "with the house," so to speak.
Lady: The gentle and loving mother.
Zen & Tyrion: Her two playful and affectionate sons.
Protective Guardians: The property is already secure with high walls and even higher bougainvilleas, but the presence of three large dogs adds an extra layer of safety. They bark at unfamiliar sounds, making them excellent watchdogs, yet they’re gentle and affectionate.
Well-Behaved: These adorable dogs are extremely sweet-natured and have won over a few dog sceptics.
The dogs are not allowed inside the house and sleep in crates located between the main house and the kitchen. They’re responsive to commands and enjoy playing together in the garden.
Typically, Main House guests take primary responsibility for dog care, as the dogs tend to spend most of their time around the Main House. For these extended stays with both houses, nightly rates would be reduced to reflect the additional pet care responsibilities guests assume and the reduced workload for us. The exact reduction depends on factors such as length of stay, number of guests, and level of dog care provided (including walking).
Cleaning Contribution: we kindly ask all visitors to contribute $25 or 20€ toward cleaning expenses upon departure.
Extended Stays & Pet Care
You can REALLY start to relax into the luxuriousness of the place after a couple of weeks ;-) So we are always thrilled to find responsible guests who are interested in extended stays! The dogs also appreciate the consistency and extra scratches behind the ears :)

Neighbourhood
What you will love about this neighborhood
We are located directly in the middle of Panajachel, yet tucked away enough that you don't hear all the traffic. You might hear the bass from live music in the evenings however. And like everywhere in Guatemala, there are often fireworks that go off, especially during festivals and holidays.. Whether you’re drawn by the serene lake, the lively market, or the chance to connect with fascinating people, Panajachel truly has something for everyone.
Getting to my home
Most people take a shuttle or private transfer to Panajachel, which is about 3.5 hour drive from the airport. We can gladly recommend a driver for the transfer from the airport or from Antigua. A private transfer from the Airport costs around $130.
Nearest airport
The closest Airport is La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City
Getting Around
The Property's Convenient Location:
An expat-oriented health clinic with outpatient services is just a 2-minute walk away. A major grocery store is a 2-minute walk away. The vibrant open-air food market is a 10-15 minute stroll, and the bustling main shopping street, Calle Santander, is right outside the door.
