I inherited this architectural masterpiece and its lush gardens from my aunt who moved to Guatemala in the 80s and learned architecture and woodworking to build the house of her dreams. .

Notes
Extended Stays & Pet Care
You can REALLY start to relax into the luxuriousness of the place after a couple of weeks ;-) So we are always thrilled to find responsible guests who are interested in extended stays! The dogs also appreciate the consistency and extra scratches behind the ears :)
Typically, Main House guests take primary responsibility for dog care, as the dogs tend to spend most of their time around the Main House.
Meet the Canine Companions:
While living in Panajachel, we fell in love with three incredible dogs who now call this property home. With the overpopulation of street dogs here, finding adopters is nearly impossible, and we couldn’t bear to leave them to fend for themselves. These lovable and loyal dogs are part of the property’s charm and come "with the house," so to speak.
Lady: The gentle and loving mother.
Zen & Tyrion: Her two playful and affectionate sons.
Protective Guardians: The property is already secure with high walls and even higher bougainvilleas, but the presence of three large dogs adds an extra layer of safety. They bark at unfamiliar sounds, making them excellent watchdogs, yet they’re gentle and affectionate.
Well-Behaved: These adorable dogs are extremely sweet-natured and have won over a few dog sceptics.
The dogs are not allowed inside the house and sleep in crates located between the main house and the kitchen. They’re responsive to commands and enjoy playing together in the garden.

Neighbourhood
What you will love about this neighborhood
We are located directly in the middle of Panajachel, yet tucked away enough that you don't hear all the traffic. You might hear the bass from live music in the evenings however. And like everywhere in Guatemala, there are often fireworks that go off, especially during festivals and holidays.. Whether you’re drawn by the serene lake, the lively market, or the chance to connect with fascinating people, Panajachel truly has something for everyone.
Getting to my home
Most people take a shuttle or private transfer to Panajachel, which is about 3.5 hour drive from the airport. We can gladly recommend a driver for the transfer from the airport or from Antigua. A private transfer from the Airport costs around $130.
Nearest airport
The closest Airport is La Aurora International Airport in Guatemala City
Getting Around
The Property's Convenient Location:
An expat-oriented health clinic with outpatient services is just a 2-minute walk away. A major grocery store is a 2-minute walk away. The vibrant open-air food market is a 10-15 minute stroll, and the bustling main shopping street, Calle Santander, is right outside the door.
