General Overview
Our house is a classic wooden house from the 1950s, with windows overlooking the beautiful city of Trondheim and the fjord. It is spacious for a family of four. In our garage we have a moon board for bouldering.
The Space
We have a big veranda with lots of evening sun, easily accessible from a big living room with a high ceiling. Our kitchen is original from the 50s, but upgraded and very functional and cozy. We have three bedrooms (two children's rooms, one adult room). We also have a small garden with flowers, berries and herbs and vegetables available for anyone living here. The house may include our cat, Milli, a friendly and fun somali who acts more like a little dog than a cat.
Guest Access
2 floors connected by stairs. Three steps up to the main entrance from the street.

Neighbourhood
Our house is situated in a nice area of Trondheim called Singsaker. It is mainly residential with a lot of traditional wooden houses and gardens around. The neighbourhood is quiet and relaxed, with a lot of families with children living in the area.
A 20 minute walk through streets lined with
Trondheim's characteristic colourful wooden houses will take you to Trondheim's centre with
Nidarosdomen (the world's northenmost gothic medieval cathedral) and quaint little streets, and a vibrant restaurant and café scene. The town is surrounded by forests and the fjord with lots of nice hiking areas.
Getting to my home
Fly to Trondheim airport (Værnes) from Oslo, or directly from London, Riga or Amsterdam. Take the train from Oslo (approx 7 hours). Buses go often from the centre to 5 minutes away from our house.
Nearest airport
Trondheim Lufthavn Værnes, 35 minutes away by car.
Getting Around
5 minute walk to the nearest small grocery shop. 20-30 minutes walk to the centre, or a 5-10 minute bus ride (5 minutes walk to the bus stop). We also have bicycles it is possible to borrow.

Ane&Eivind
We are a family of four living in a lovely neighbourhood in Trondheim, Norway. We enjoy dancing and playing in our living room, playing "catch the rubber band" with our cat, Milli, hiking in the forests around Trondheim and visiting the library and other cultural events in our town. Eivind and Ane are both doctors working at the local hospital, Ellinor goes to school and Marta goes to kindergarten close by. We love to travel in a way where we can pretend we live somewhere else, get acquainted with the neighbourhood and explore other ways of living.
People Like Us is the world's most trusted home exchange community. We believe in sharing, trust, generosity, respect, communication, equality, cooperation, honesty, hospitality, friendship, flexibility and adventure. We take pride in our homes and we care about the environment in which we live: our village, city, country and our planet. We care about the ethos of home exchange and we do it because we love the experience and the friendships that it generates.

We have a moon board for bouldering in the garage (which now has no space for a car, but there is a parking space outside of the house, with an electrical charger).

Nidarosdomen, the northenmost gothic cathedral in the world, is just a 20-30 minute walk away.
Bakklandet, a quaint and colourful part of the town is easy to reach by foot or bike.
Lots of lovely cafés at Bakklandet, a 15-20 minute walk away from the house.
The famous houses by the river, close by the house.
The forests surrounding Trondheim provide opportunities for hiking, swimming in forest lakes and mushroom picking.
20 minutes away by car is another beautiful hiking area (Storfossen, Malvik).
