General Overview
An older campervan ideal for two people to explore our local region (South Canterbury and Otago).
It's not fancy but it is comfortable and gives you ability to stay in camping spaces close to some of NZ's most beautiful scenery. If you are after luxury camping then this is not the one for you but if you like having a bed and access to on board cooking, lights etc then this will give you a great kiwi experience.
It could be used in conjunction with using the apartment (https://peoplelikeus.world/properties/28401) as a base and taken out for a few nights to explore. I'm open to negotiating how the swap works. I love people exploring my big back yard!
The Space
Manual transmission.
Can be driven with car licence.
You can sleep above the cab but it is more comfortable to adjust table and squabs to make a comfy double bed. Top space can then be used for bags etc.
Shower and toilet (some people prefer to use public toilets so they don't have to empty the loo)
Two burner gas hob
Small fridge (gas and electric)
Solar panel to allow off grid freedom camping
Camp chairs, portable table to enjoy dining outside
Although there are three seat belts it is most comfortable with two people.
Guest Access
It does require some scrambling to make up the bed so not suitable if you have mobility problems.
Notes
Happy to swap with PLU members who have used a campervan or motorhome previously as it is important that people know how to work the systems in the van.
Limitation of km and within permitted range to travel due to difficulty if anything goes wrong. (see photo of map)
Not to be driven off main roads ie NO off roading or 4WD trips
Requirement to agree to cover insurance excess in event of damage.
Reimbursement required for road user charge miles used.
To be returned clean with full diesel tank, water tank refilled, grey water and toilet emptied and any bedding laundered ie as it is when picked up!

An idea of some of the places you could explore from Timaru. This is a guide of the distance that is ok to take the campervan. It cannot be taken further than this due to how difficult it would be to provide support if anything went wrong with the van.
Very comfy double bed with extra mattress layer which can be folded up when using the table and seating set up.
There is a bed above the cab as shown but it is a bit of a scramble to get in and out of that space so I use it for storage.
It's a minimal kitchen with small fridge, double gas burner and small sink
Small shower and toilet space. As water is carried in an on board storage tank showers need to be short and you may prefer to use camp facilities and conserve your water use.
The table and squabs are rearranged to set up the bed. It is an easy system and quite quick. There is plenty of storage under the seats.
Bedding can be rolled up during the day and the table and seating used. If weather is good there is a small outside table and camp chairs that can be used as well.
