Neighbourhood

Our small farm is just south of Timaru (5 minutes drive) on the east coast of the beautiful South Island, New Zealand. Timaru is often called the Bay City. It is a quiet coastal city with attractive Edwardian architecture, and a safe beach called Caroline Bay. Lots of nice cafes, local historic sites and penguin watching. It's an ideal base to explore inland and around the coast of the central South Island. There are several tracks close to our home to explore the coast, bush and hills. either walking or biking. It is 10-15 minutes bike ride to beach tracks, wetland bird reserve, or inland to extensive tracks in Timaru Scenic Reserve. We often walk to these tracks from home. Nearest airport is Timaru and is about a 20 minute drive away. Christchurch international airport is 2.5 hours drive north of Timaru.

Getting Around
