Ray and Mel have a beautiful home in a quiet suburb of Hobart. Great communication, perfectly described listing, lovely clean home, easy access, safe and quiet neighbourhood. Looking forward to hosting them later this year in Canada.
It was lovely to meet some of the group coming to our place for a “girls weekend” Im sure they had fun together. They left our place in perfect condition and it was a pleasure to have them here. Plus the great Tasmanian gourmet salts and yummy fudge are very welcome!
It was lovely being able to host Ray and Mel at our home for the 2 weeks to complete our non reciprocal exchange. We were wrapped to find our home perfectly clean as we had left it and it was a joy to be able to kick back and relax after our long journey home.
We had great communications when needed.
I would definitely recommend them both for any future visits and would love to visit their beautiful home again in the future.
What a pleasure it was to have Ray and Mel in our home. They were such a great fit for our house and we found many things in common in the choices we’d all made from the solar passivity of our houses to small kitchen items. They left the house in immaculate condition and gave us a beautiful card - thanks and happy to exchange again any time. Sorry to have missed you face to face though that seems likely to be remedied in the future some time!
Ray and his partner were exceptional guests\. The house was left immaculately clean.
His communication was excellent.
We did have a water leak on the day before he was due to arrive which was of concern.
We would highly recommend them as exchanges.
Ray was fantastic, again. He and Mel stayed at our home recently and were great guests. We spoke on the phone a few times (as we had a house problem) and Ray was super helpful.
They are welcome back anytime.
Communication with Ray and Mel was excellent from the get go.
It was an absolute pleasure hosting them in our Penguin home.
Mel even offered to give my roses a prune, as I wasn't going to be home at the perfect rose pruning time.
I sincerely hope we meet, and am looking forward to our visit to their Bicheno home.
It was a pleasure to have Ray staying at our house. It was easy to communicate with him. We thank him for leaving our home spotless and taking good care of it.
Ray & Mel were fantastic guests! They looked after our house and left it in pristine condition. Communication was superb. I would definitely recommend an exchange with them :)
Ray and Mel were fabulous guests. They looked after our home so well we could hardly tell they’d been here!! Communication was fantastic and we would happily host them again!!
Ray and Mel were ideal guests to have staying in our home. They were friendly and easy to communicate with and respectful and considerate. They treated our home as their own and left it in great order. We highly recommend them and would love to have them back one day.
Ray and Mel were ideal guests. Easy to communicate with prior, during and following the exchange. They were very respectful of our home and left it in perfect condition, my plants definitely were healthier on our return!
We welcomed the feedback on all the places they were able to visit from our home as a base, some we haven’t been to ourselves!
We would recommend them highly as home exchange guests.
Ray and Mel were the perfect guests! We had easy communication before and during the exchange. They looked after our home beautifully, including watering house plants and feeding the tui's and kindly made sure it was ready for the next guests. We highly recommend Ray and Mel as exchangers and it's been a pleasure to get to 'know' them although we've yet to meet!
Ray and Mel looked after our campervan perfectly, cleaning her inside and out plus ensuring linen etc was ready for the next exchangers while we were on another exchange overseas.
Thank you so much!
Ray & Mel's home in Bicheno is lovely & extremely well equipped! It's beautifully sunny & warm even in the middle of winter. Communication was also very easy.
The home is walking distance to everything & in a perfect position with beautiful views.
We had a great family weekend & we truly appreciate them sharing their home with us. ❤️
We had an amazing holiday in Bicheno with glorious weather. Mel and Ray’s house is very comfortable, immaculate, well organised with everything we needed and more. Like Mel organising a cot, a baby chair and even some toys, or the delicious tomatoes from the garden…
I’m already missing the amazing ocean views and the sun drenched deck!
The house is a short walk to the beach with white sand and crystal clear water. We swam everyday, the water is irresistible. Also a short walk to the village centre and its shops.
We enjoyed visiting Freycinet national park and the famous wineglass bay (as beautiful as the pictures), tasted fine local wines and sampled the delicious seafood.
We thoroughly enjoyed our week in Bicheno and staying at Ray and Mel’s place made it more special. Thank you!
What an amazing home and location all in one .
Beautiful 180 degree views of the ocean below and plenty of isolated beaches surrounding the area to explore on our own . Close location to many attractions along the east coast from bay of fires to freycinet’s wineglass bay .
Great little golf course close near by and fairy penguins seen at night on their way home on the sand dunes.
Ray was able to guide us throughout with whatever we needed to know for our stay and we had the pleasure to meet him on our arrival.
We highly recommend this exchange to all ; Bicheno is a beautiful beach holiday destination with great walks, coffee shops ,and small restaurants and very friendly residents.
Thanks Ray
Ray and Mel made their place so easy to visit. We have learned heaps by their example! What an outlook! We could have stayed in all day watching the sky and the water in their varying moods. We had a great swim and snorkel at Waubs Bay. We enjoyed eating out at Sealife Bistro and bought yummy food from the Little Bay patisserie. Plenty of local walks on the foreshore including the blowhole.
We were very impressed by the level of organisation and cleanliness over the whole house. There was great information presented in the East Coast booklet.
We are happy to do another exchange anytime!
Ray’s home is immaculate and well organized. It is a pleasant stroll from the centre of the little shopping strip in the quaint beach location of Bicheno. He was an excellent communicator and responded very quickly to any questions we had. We felt very privileged to be able to spend some time in his home in this beautiful location overlooking the main beach in the bay of Bicheno.
We enjoyed a wonderful stay at Ray’s home. The view over the ocean is ever changing, walking distance to the village and local Bicheno attractions. The house is really well equipped and the garden with all the fruit trees is a delight.
Ray is a very communicative host and quick to respond. Thanks Ray!
Bicheno is a quiet and relaxing corner of Tasmania. Ray and Mel were great to work with - positive, responsive, communicative. The home manual and instructions around the house were complete and helpful.
We had a slight challenge with the strength of the internet, trying to talk with family back home.
The home and neighbourhood were terrific. Going to Natureworld and seeing the Tasmanian Devils feeding was amazing!
The recliners overlooking the ocean view were a highlight we will not forget! Thank you - what a privilege to see this side of Tasmania.
Great place! Clean, wonderful views, beautiful house, convenient location. Bicheno is a lovely small town on the east coast of Tasmania with plenty to do. An excellent foreshore walk and do have lunch at the Lobster Shack!
Ray’s house is fantastic! The view is all encompassing and the area to view from is super comfortable and functional. We stayed with 3 couples and all loved being there. Plus Bicheno is a great east side town. Not too big, not too small. Wonderful nature abounds. Thank you Ray!
We had a lovely stay in Bicheno at Ray and Mel’s beautiful home. Ray was easy to contact and quick to respond to all our questions. The house was immaculate and everything we could have wanted was there. It is also very conveniently located within walking distance of all the services in town.
Thanks Ray!
We looooooved staying at Ray's place in Bicheno.
Great location with walking distance to everything in town.
All 3 bedrooms are very spacious and comfy.
The view from the living room and balcony is incredible.
We could sit for hours in the comfy recliner chairs to watch the ocean.
Thanks for sharing your amazing place with us Ray!
We stayed for a week at Ray and Mel's lovely home and had a great time. The house was spotlessly clean and well set up. The only instructiin was to make ourselves at home! Bicheno was a lovely town to base ourselves in. We enjoyed it immensely
Our extended family of 6, including 2 teenagers and 2 grandparents in their 80s, had a fabulous stay at Ray's well designed, comfortable home. Although we didn't meet, Ray was great to communicate with, very flexible and easy going. The house is designed to capture spectacular views of the coast, as well as every ray of sunshine. Although not a particularly big house, it felt spacious enough for 6 people - the extra bathroom in the shed helps - and was equipped for all our needs. We loved Bicheno and there was so much to do and see in the surrounding areas - 8 days really wasn't enough. Hope to come back again one day and explore more. Thanks Ray!
Ray and Mel’s home was amazing!!! We absolutely loved waking up to the stunning ocean views everyday!! We were sad to leave their gorgeous home in a cute little town. The home is well appointed with 3 bedrooms, bathroom, laundry, kitchen, dinning and lounge. There’s a huge backyard which one night we even came home to a wallaby eating grass in the backyard! You can walk into town, to restaurants and the beach. A beautiful home, nestled in the centre of the East Coast of Tasmania. Thanks so much for a wonderful stay.
What an absolutely brilliant stay we had at Ray's glorious home. Spacious, comfortable, warm, clean, tidy, light, airy: these words hardly do it justice. Great location within walking distance of beaches and shops. Stunning views from the upstairs living/ dining area and so lovely to come home to the warmth captured due to the wide expanse of windows.
Great access to a fabulous coastline; sandy beaches, crystal clear water, amazing granite rocks to walk over, and around. An impressive blow hole nearby plus penguins coming in after dark.
We visited Freycinet National Park 3 times for fabulous hikes and swims, seeing dolphins and numerous birds and wallabies. Ray was very generous in lending us camping gear so we had a wonderful adventure sleeping in a tent which we haven't done for many years! We also stayed overnight on Maria Island which we would highly recommend.
Did we mention the ping pong?! We had ding dong battles and so much fun.
Ray and Mel, thank you, thank you! Great communication prior to and during. One of our best exchanges. Bicheno is a very special place and we're so grateful that you shared your piece of paradise with us.
We absolutely loved our stay at Ray's place! Communication with Ray was perfect and his house instructions had everything we needed in it. The view is just incredible and the house stays wonderfully warm even when it is windy or cold outside. The house is a short walk to the beach and the centre of town. We had great weather during our stay which meant days sitting outside on the balcony, exploring the local national parks and going to the (many) beaches. Freycinet National Park is a 35 min drive and we went there multiple times during our stay to hike and swim. One note I would add for future exchangers is that the grocery store in Bicheno is quite small, so if you're hoping to get food for a week, go shopping in Hobart or Bay of Fires.
A wonderful place to stay for our Tasmanian holiday. From Ray’s place we had stunning ocean views and could watch the sunrises and sunsets in awe. A short walk to the beach or to town or to watch the fairy penguins on the foreshore track- highly recommend! At the Sea Life Centre we had the best meal which included fresh seafood and Tasmanian Scallops- delicious! The East Coast Natureworld was a delightful encounter with native Australian animals including wombats, Tasmanian devils, kangaroos and possums. Staying at Ray’s home was wonderful!!!

Brooke, Sam and their family are wonderful guests to exchange with. They are very considerate and left the property spotless and washed all bedding, towels and floor mats that they had used. We had very easy communications and have no hesitation in recommending Brooke and Sam for any future exchanges they wish to pursue. We are very much looking forward to staying at their property in Spring Beach in October. Thank you so much for taking such good care of our home and we are really glad you had a great stay in Bicheno.
Feedback for Jennifer·Non-Reciprocal exchange·3 nights
Staying in Peter and Jennifer’s property isn’t just a place to stay—it’s a city oasis!
On arrival we met Jennifer and Peter who provided a great explanation of their apartment and left us a lovely goodie basket to enjoy during our stay.
Jennifer & Peters apartment is situated absolutely waterfront overlooking the Brisbane River in a secure complex with friendly neighbours. Waking up and having coffee on the patio watching the rowers and ferries go by was a wonderful start to the day. The complex has a heated roof top pool with amazing views of the city. and an abundance of restaurants underneath. The location within Brisbane has so much to offer,
The public transport ferry terminal is a short walk making it really easy to access the city CBD area or attractions. "Eats Street", restaurants and cafes galore are all close by.
Peter and Jennifer have provided every comfort within their home. Their communication and openness made it an extremely easy exchange, and we have no hesitation in recommending them for any future exchanges.
Feedback for Terry·Non-Simultaneous exchange·13 nights
We had a really wonderful 2 week stay at Terry & Megs place in Maroochydore. Their house is set up so well for a really relaxing stay with a gorgeous pool surrounded by tropical plants and a lovely outdoor "retreat" Al fresco area just perfect for lazy days reading books. It has a lovely Balinese vibe with lovely chimes and water features and just oozes relaxation which we did in abundance. Absolutely loved the artwork and board display inside the home.
The house is situated nice and close to surf club patrolled beaches, supermarkets and just a short walk to the huddle & bustle cafes. Restaurants and night life spots.
Terry & Megs home instructions were great providing everything we needed and our communications whilst organising our exchange and during our stay was faultless.
We can't recommend "Wrigley retreat" enough for a perfect sunny coast getaway.
Feedback for Martha·Non-Simultaneous exchange·8 nights
It was lovely being able to host Martha, Eugene and their family at our home for 7 nights to complete our non reciprocal exchange. We were really grateful to find our home clean and tidy after their stay. We had great communications and recommendations throughout our exchanges.
Mel & I would definitely recommend Martha & Eugene for any future PLU exchanges.
Feedback for Terry·Non-Simultaneous exchange·14 nights
It was great to briefly meet Terry & Megs at the start of their stay. They were the perfect guests. They took excellent care of our home, and everything was neat and tidy when we arrived home. They were excellent and prompt communicators. We would happily host them again any time and look forward to our upcoming stay at their place in March!
We had a lovely chat with Marylyn and Richard before their exchange and to arrange our simultaneous exchange at each other's homes. The friendliness and communication made our arrangements really easy.
Marylyn and Richard treated our home with care and respect and left it in in a clean and tidy condition after their stay.
We have no hesitation in recommending Marylyn and Richard for any future exchanges they wish to undertake.
Richard and Marylyn were great to chat with on the phone and extremely accommodating when we reached out to them with only a few weeks notice, asking if they would be interested in an exchange for the long weekend. Their lovely warm & light filled passive solar home is beautifully located oceanside south of Hobart in the D'Entrecasteaux Channel. As we are Tasmanian we are familiar with the area and have done many of the local attractions, however some standout attractions to see are to explore Bruny Island or visit more towns along the channel such as Kettering, Woodbridge down to Gordon. Snug Falls walk nearby is lovely as is the Coningham coastal cliff walk with lovely views to Bruny and Tinderbox.
Coningham itself is a beautiful community with walks and beaches all within short walking distance to Richard and Marylyns home, the home itself is on beautifully manicured grounds with home grown produce in abundance, it is more than comfortable and has the most relaxing, serene feel about it that we truly felt we had cocooned ourselves from the world around us. There are other homes on the grounds and you would never know they were there, as it is very peaceful and quiet. Richard and Marylyn have been wonderful to communicate with and extremely generous in their home offerings.
Thank you so much for the home produce treats you left for us in the fridge and allowing us to intrude on your jigsaw puzzle! Ray had a hard time staying away from it.
Feedback for Anita·Non-Reciprocal exchange·5 nights
Anita and John were lovely home exchange guests. They left our home tidy. Communication was great throughout and made the entire home exchange process smooth and enjoyable. It was great to chat briefly on the phone during their stay.

Feedback for Sara·Non-Simultaneous exchange·3 nights
Sara and Pete were so great to host. They have been really easy to communicate with and I felt like they were friends before they even arrived at our home! They have taken great care of our home like it was their own, left it in an immaculate condition to return to and thats all we could ask for! We would happily recommend Sara and Pete for any upcoming exchanges in the future.
We are really looking forward to our upcoming Canada trip and staying at Sara and Petes place in Cambridge ON, this autumn.
It was a pleasure having Sue and Ken stay at our home. They left our home in pristine condition and well taken care of, ready for more PLU guests who were arriving after their stay which we truly appreciate and we would welcome them back anytime.
Communication was great throughout the exchange. We highly recommend Sue and Ken for any exchanges in the future.
We had a wonderful home exchange stay in Mike and Lesley's home at North Beach, The location was fantastic—just an easy 80-metre walk to the beach, which made morning swims and evening sunset walks a real highlight. The Public transport in Perth is excellent and very convenient to the home with a bus stop around the corner and the Transperth app making it so easy to get to the bigger shopping centres, Perth city or other beaches in the area ( Hillarys and Scarborough beaches are great locations to visit)
The home was very comfortable and well equipped with all the amenities we needed for a relaxing stay, water views from the lounge was lovely to look at each day to watch the boats and wind surfers. The area is very relaxed, safe, and welcoming, and it was the perfect base for enjoying the coastline and local amenities. Mikes communication was efficient and informative, We would happily recommend this home and location to other exchangers and would love to return in the future.
Feedback for Kev and Jan·Non-Simultaneous exchange·4 nights
We had the pleasure of exchanging with Kevin and Jan in our home, and the experience was excellent from start to finish. Communication was smooth and easy throughout the entire process. They respected our space. And we returned to find everything just as we had left it, clean and tidy. They had even taken care of my indoor/deck plants. Plus, left us a little festive special something all the way from Canada to arrive home to!
We are really looking forward to staying in their amazing condo on the harbour in Victoria BC this upcoming autumn. Hope the resmainder of your Oz adventure is a great experience through PLU.
Feedback for Barbara·Non-Simultaneous exchange·9 nights
Do you want the best of the US? Puako on the Big Island of Hawaii, just has to be it! Its tropical, oceanfront, coral reef right out in front, abundant sealife and so peaceful and relaxing and yet close enough to all the amenities you could want without it being in your face.
Barbara and Jack's home is so well positioned, and appointed for a great exchange experience. There are gorgeous beaches and rocky bays a short walk or ride away, magnificent reefs to snorkel or kayak, SUP or whatever watersport activities you love to do. There are resorts, food options and shopping nearby if you dont want to spend time in the bigger towns, and the roads to get to Kona and the airport are top notch.
We stayed here for 8 wonderful nights and absolutely loved every moment. The home is spacious, beautifully designed, so relaxing and offers a breathtaking view of the ocean—waking up to that every morning was unforgettable. The spa was a true highlight; relaxing in the hot bubbles after a day of exploring felt like paradise. The homes Lanai options are great for spending time soaking up the sun and views or seeking shade and breeze depending on the weather and well set up for outdoor dining.
The property has a lovely kitchen garden, which made cooking fresh, meals even more special. The kitchen itself was well-equipped, and the open layout made it easy to move around the space inside.
The outdoor shower was a new experience and very much enjoyed after Hawaiis warm days.
Jack and Barbara were warm, responsive, and clearly take pride in maintaining such a beautiful space.
This has definitely been one of our favourite PLU exchanges to date and Barbara & Jack made it so easy and welcoming for us we so highly recommend a visit to their wonderful part of the world.
Feedback for Lesley·Non-Simultaneous exchange·2 nights
Penguin is a lovely seaside town that can't be missed on a visit to Tasmania. It is perfectly located in the NW of the state for many sightseeing opportunities or attractions.
Lesley and Phil's home is absolutely gorgeous and perfectly positioned within Penguin to get the most of the stunning Penguin coastline with all day sun, expansive windows and a conservatory to soak up the sunshine. Or choose the open deck upstairs for fresh air and sensational views. The property isn’t just a place to stay—it’s an experience. You’ll breathe in the sea air, embrace the peace of coastal vistas, and enjoy a home that balances luxe finishes with warmth and community charm. We really wished we could have stayed longer.
Lesley and Phil have provided every comfort within their home. The communication and openness made it an easy exchange and we hope to exchange again in the future and explore more of what the North West of Tasmania has to offer.

Martha and Eugene's lovely home in Lake Cathie was really comfortable and convenient for my 8 night stay in May 2025. Loved the expansive kitchen with all the gadgets needed, and absolutely jealous of their beautifully designed main bathroom! The outdoor space is also great for enjoying the afternoon sunshine. The house has everything needed for a really relaxing holiday. A woolworths shopping centre, with cafes, eateries and the local Hotel is 100m walk away, so very convenient. No need to jump in the car and fight for car parks. The nearest beach is approx 250m walk away, perfect for a swim, surf, stroll or enjoy the lovely sunrises, if conditions are right. There are many great surf locations to choose from nearby or lakes and creeks for those wanting more sheltered waters to play in. The Port Macquarie Hastings to Manning region is great to explore with so many activities available.
Thankyou so much Martha and Eugene, it has been a fantastic holiday and base to explore your part of the mid north coast of NSW.
Alicia and Justin have a fabulous home in Warrnambool. We absolutely loved how well appointed it was and the expansive kitchen with great high bench tops was so practical to use. The master bedroom we used had a super comfy bed and lovely modern ensuite. The outdoor area was great to unwind with the nice seabreezes after a day out exploring the area or spent at the nearby beaches. We also loved looking at Alicia & Justin's travel accoutrements from their worldwide travels.
Warrnambool is a great little city to stay at if wanting to explore The Great Ocean Road, Cape Otway or the Limestone Coast of South Australia. The city itself has lovely beaches, breakwalls and great scenic lookouts within 5 min drive of the house. It was the perfect location to base ourselves for our 8 night stay to explore this lovely part of Victoria and South Australia.
Thanks again Alicia & Justin for allowing us to use your home where we have had such a great relaxing holiday adventure.

The property is conveniently located, just a short drive from the Brisbane CBD and Public transport options are nearby, making it easy to explore the city and surrounds. The neighborhood is safe, with convenient shopping, plenty of cafes and parks, all within walking distance.
The home was tidy upon arrival. The living areas, bedrooms, and bathrooms were well-maintained which made the stay very comfortable

The location is perfect, nestled in the heart of the picturesque town of Schull with stunning views of the Atlantic Ocean it's many islands and the surrounding countryside. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, modern, and well-equipped with everything we needed for a comfortable stay.
Communication was open and informative from before we arrived and again after we left.
We particularly loved how close we were to the many coastal walks, and the nearby beaches were absolutely beautiful. The area is a boaters paradise!

Amazing coastal location.
Clean, modern, and comfortable rooms.
Close to beaches and coastal walks.

Close to all attractions in County Cork (Blarney Castle, Mizen Head, Ring of Beara, Ring of Kerry).

Cons:
None that we encountered!
Feedback for Carey and Peter·Simultaneous exchange·17 nights
Peter and Carey were the perfect guests at my home for the 2.5 weeks they stayed in Bicheno. Everything that they made use of was returned to its location and the house was left in an immaculate condition with no damage. All keys were returned to me. My car was handed back in exactly the same undamaged and clean condition with a full tank of fuel, as it was given to them for their Tasmanian exploration.
Peter and Carey are really experienced home exchanges. I would have no hesitation in recommending them to any future home exchanges they choose to make in the future.

Peter & Careys house in Algies Bay is approximately 1hr 20 min from Auckland along a fantastic motorway with Tolls. The home is located in a quiet cul de sac with lovely rural and bush outlook and close access to the bay. It’s a lovely clean and tidy modern home, very warm and intimate. Mel and I found it perfectly comfortable as a couple, but would easily suit a family or group. Everything we needed was available to make it a most enjoyable stay.
Peter and Carey provided prompt communications whenever we had a query about the exchange. The house instruction book was very clearly written, thorough and very informative and also provided many suggestions on things to do and see in the area.
Thanks so very much Peter and Carey for offering your lovely abode and the use of Veronica for easy exploration of Auckland and Northland NZ.

Veronica is just the best 2 berth campervan we have ever had the pleasure to use. It gave us so many options to explore Northland and reach Cape Reinga NZ. She is a fun bus to drive around all the windy roads and feels like driving a car, it handles so well. Loved reminiscing the manual gearbox experience. Veronica is very easy to multi day travel in.
Peter and Carey have created excellent videos and an instruction booklet on how best to use Veronica including her set up. Veronica has been well setup with all you could possibly need for 2 people to comfortably freedom camp, or holiday park camp.
Feedback for Andrea·Non-Reciprocal exchange·11 nights
Andrea & Eric are wonderful guests to exchange with. They are very considerate and left the property spotless, washed all bedding, towels and floor mats that they had used. Our communications were very easy and made for an organized stay. We have no hesitation in recommending Andrea and Eric for any future exchanges they wish to pursue.
Feedback for Jennifer·Non-Reciprocal exchange·8 nights
Jennifer and her family were wonderful guests to stay in our home. They left the house in a very neat and tidy condition and communication between both parties was really easy. I would happily recommend Jennifer and family to any future hosts.
