Hospitality Description: In addition to the apartment that is listed here, I have an apartment down the hallway that I do not rent or swap with anyone. So, if I am available and staying in my apartment, I would be happy to be of assistance when I am able... show you around, town take you to the local train station, or even to the airport if I am able (would need help to recoup tolls and gas if providing rides). I love sharing our beautiful town with people, and if I'm not working and am able, I am willing to help arrange a memorable stay with any knowledge I have of the area.

Neighbourhood

We are located in Bagni di Lucca, an historic thermal waters spa town, with Europe's very first casino, built by Napoleon's sister. Our village has a rich history of poets and writers throughout the ages, including a portion of Mary Shelley's "Frankenstein" being written here. Along the river walkway, you will find Elizabeth Barrett Browning path and a bench dedicated to her and her husband. Additionally, you can find the healing waters of Bagni flowing from the fountains along the walls on the pathways down the river. People come from all around to fill their bottles or to take some time in the local spas to sit in the healing waters that come from underground at a perfect temperature... all year round. There is a gorgeous community pool that was recently renovated as of last summer (2024), and it overlooks the town and hills, and is very much like a country club in how clean and beautiful the setting is. Also, there is a brand new facility for tennis and pickleball right down the street, within a ten minute walk of my flat. The town is full of adventure sports: kayaking, white water rafting, canyoning, SUP, four-wheel exploration, hiking, etc. So, your days can be full of adventure or full of rest and relaxation. Downstair is a cafe for coffee and apperitivos. Several wonderful restaurants are within walking distance. Want to explore other towns by train? A small bus picks up downstairs at the cafe and takes you to the local train station, which will take you to nearby towns or into Lucca, where you can grab a train to Florence-- about an hour away, or Pisa, or really anywhere you desire, since once you're in Lucca, you're on the major railway system.

Kimberly W

Globe-trotter, cultural explorer, business owner, mom, dual continent resident. I LOVE to explore new places and meet people around the world. I am the proud owner of a beautiful little flat in the heart of Tuscany. I would love to explore more of the world through a home exchange venue, while sharing my sweet little corner with others. I have over ten years as a vacation rental owner, and I had all positive reviews. My children grew up with us always sharing our homes as rentals, but this is new to us to focus strictly on exchanges, as we do not wish to rent this time. It's planned this is a "family residence" where we will always have roots now. We may expand to share more properties as time progresses. Thanks for considering us as hosts and as guests.
