General overview
The charm of a cottage in the heart of Hintonburg, the hippest neighborhood in downtown Ottawa, Canada's bilingual capital. Large detached house combining the charm of the old (our house was built in 1920) with modern comfort and overlooking a large enclosed garden surrounded by a tall pin hedge.
The space
On the ground floor: very large open concept living room, music/reading area, dining room, office (with a twin bed convertible into an equivalent of a king bed), open and well-equipped kitchen (induction cooker, dishwasher, large counter space), children's playroom, laundry area, bathroom with bathtub.
Upstairs: master bedroom (queen bed), bathroom with a bathtub, bedroom 2 (with a twin bed convertible into an equivalent of a king bed), bedroom 3 (baby bed), loft / mezzanine accessible from bedroom 3 (queen bed).
Outside: Enjoy barbecues with family or friends on the deck, play with children in the games room and in the garden (sandpit, swing, climbing structure ...).
Guest access
The whole house will be available to our guests with the exception of the basement.
Our house is not suitable for people with reduced mobility (stairs to enter the house and to reach the second floor).
Notes
We have a crib, high chair and games for kids.

Neighbourhood
Stay in Hintonburg, Ottawa's most vibrant neighborhood. We love our neighborhood and we are sure you will love it too!
Our street is quiet, close to shops (restaurants, microbreweries, cafes, bakeries, little grocery stores, market, ...), playgrounds, bus (1 minute walk) and O'train nearby (Bayview station: 7 min. walk).
Accessible on foot, by bus or train in a few minutes: Dow's Lake and the Rideau Canal, Chinatown, Little Italy, Westboro, the beach along the Rideau River, downtown, Parliament, most museums of the capital, ... The entrance to Gatineau Park (ideal for hiking, nature walks, picnic lakes) is less than 15 minutes drive. Gatineau, in Quebec, is only a few minutes away.
Getting around
Bus (1 minute walk) and O'train (light metro) station nearby (Bayview station: 7 min. walk), once in the O'train you can be on Parliament Hill in 5 minutes!
Our home is about 20 minutes away from the Ottawa airport by car and less than 2 hours from the Montreal Trudeau airport (regular Greyhound buses between Montreal airport and downtown Ottawa).
