General Overview
Welcome to our one-of-a-kind campervan!
A fully off-grid, self-built tiny home on wheels, our van was lovingly crafted from a 2009 Mercedes Sprinter ex-ambulance. Certified with a green self-containment sticker (toilet and outdoor shower) and a comprehensive electric setup, freedom camp your way across our beautiful country or use the shore power connection to set up camp at a campground- we can let you know the best places and our favourite secret spots across the country ;)
Being a Mercedes Sprinter, this van is great to drive- smooth, easy to handle, and surprisingly nimble for its size. It fits into most regular parking spaces, and is much more manageable than a big motorhome, especially on New Zealand’s windy roads.
The Space
Key Features:
Dimensions: 6m2 - 2m wide x 3m long and 1.80 interior height floor to ceiling.
Bed/Seating: Large Seating area easily converts to a super comfy bed (1.80m x 1.90m) made from the same high-density foam used in high-end rental motorhomes for a comfortable sleep after a day exploring
Kitchen: Fully electric setup with plug in induction cooktop, granite sink, 85L Iceco fridge with small freezer compartment, pull-out pantry, and soft-close drawers with push-to-open slides which stay firmly closed when driving around
Power System: 560W solar, 3000W inverter, 3x 120AH AGM batteries, solar + alternator charging (this will get you approximately 30mins of cooking on the induction cooktop on top of operating the fridge, lights etc), shore power hookup for unlimited electricity if parked on a campground
Storage: Tons of smart storage – under-seat, overhead, hanging wardrobe, drawers, “garage locker” accessible from outside
Water: 80L fresh + 80L grey tanks, electric pump
Toilet: Fixed 20L toilet (certified) in a private space between cab and living area
Lighting & Comfort: Dimmable ceiling and overhead lights, USB-A/USB-C ports (cab + bed area), thermal blackout curtains throughout. Swivel table for dining/work, retractable powered rear step
Extras in the Garage Locker: Outdoor table & chairs, outdoor gas cooker, Joolca outdoor shower (gas operated for warm showers), big outdoor mat for picnics or to make an outdoor living area at rear of van
This van is more than just a camper – it’s our pride and joy, and every detail has been designed with intention. From the custom-built kitchen, quality mattress, and dimming lights, to the hidden pull-out drying rack, it’s full of small surprises that make vanlife not just doable, but delightful.

We are a couple from New Zealand, Nina who is German born and Sam born and bred in NZ. We live in central Berlin, only 10min walk from Brandenburg Gate, and enjoy all the wonderful things Berlin has to offer. Nina works in Business Development for NZ Food & Beverage exporters to Germany and Sam works for the NZ Navy. We love travelling to new destinations, exploring different cultures and meeting new people. In our spare time we enjoy being in the outdoors, cooking new recipes and spending time when possible with family in the North of Germany.
