Neighbourhood

We are situated within close proximity to Sooke town amenities (8km), and a relatively short commute to Victoria (47 km). Our neighborhood is called Otter Point. Here you will enjoy a rural setting with close proximity to Nature, and minutes to several pristine West Coast beaches and local scenic treasures. We are ideally located for nearby activities that include beach combing, rainforests and nature trails, charter fishing, horseback riding, whale watching, with bike/kayak/paddle-boarding opportunities within minutes. Some of our favourite nearby spots: 1 block from Otter Point rocks and small public park with shoreline fishing access. 1-2 km from Gordon's beach, an easy 10-15 walk. 4km from Muir creek 8km from the town of Sooke. 10 minutes to the Sooke Potholes 10km to Sheringham Lighthouse, French Beach and Shirley Delicious (a MUST visit for their tasty treats!) 20 minutes from Jordan River and China Beach and the Juan de Fuca Trail head @ Mystic Beach. 40 minutes to Sombrio Beach and our favourite secret Waterfall 30 min to East Sooke, Beecher's Bay (another gem) 1hr 15 min to Port Renfrew, Botanical Beach (our #1 suggested excursion)

Melanie and Don

We are a couple in semi-retirement, living on South Vancouver Island on a beautiful rural property outside of Sooke, BC. We are active and love to hike, cook, travel, and explore other cultures. We are looking forward to doing more of that throughout the year now that we are empty nesters. Although Our adult son may still join us on some trips in between his studies at University. We own a guest suite called Acre By The Sea Guest Suite that is next to our main home, and we would like to open it up to home exchanges. We are also offer hospitality stays in our main house. We invite you to come experience some of the charms of our Wild West Coast. (Note we are active homexchangers with great reviews through another HE site, but havent not yet exchanged through PLU. We would love to bump up our activity and ratings here too, so please reach out!)
